The Titan's Curse: The Graphic Novel
Titan's Curse: The Graphic Novel - Rick Riordan,Gregory Guilhaumond,Attila Futaki,Robert Venditti

I know I should just give up on reading these but... they're so short, I can't help it. Plus, it was literally laying around in my house and within reach of me on the couch.

So I think that maybe the art, overall, is marginally better in this one than The Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel or The Sea of Monsters: The Graphic Novel, but still pretty atrocious. This time around it was horrible because the faces were so inconsistent. At one point, Percy looks like a 30-year old man. And Thalia was all over the place. At times, she looked super masculine and I actually thought she was a dude, though I couldn't figure out who. I swear she had a goatee. In another panel, the goatee was gone and she looked like a girl. Mainly Percy and Thalia throughout the book changed faces and appearances like 10 times. It was absurd. And no, I double-checked to make sure I wasn't mixing them up with each other or a different character. The thing is that when Futaki is not drawing faces, his art is not half-bad. Unfortunately, there is a cast of characters in this series.

The story is fine (though The Titan's Curse has always been my least favorite of the PJATO series) and continues to be well condensed and transformed to fit a short graphic novel. But yikes, the art.

**Did I miss the part in the book where Percy gets a ride from his mom, like it says happens in the description????

Attack On Titan: No Regrets Vol. 1
Attack on Titan: No Regrets 1 - Hikaru Suruga,Gan Sunaaku,Hajime Isayama

I might have enjoyed this volume more than any of the original AOT manga series, despite a lack of my favorite character, Mikasa. Reading and watching AOT, I never really got Levi, or particularly cared for him. (Probably mostly because I never got far enough into the story to really grow attached to him?) He simply was the character with the dead eyes that my Goddaughter got me to impersonate, with photographic evidence that should be burnt. Regardless, this volume contained actual character development and backstory, which I am all about. There was a minimal of crazy action where no one can tell what's going on, and also far less disturbing Titans running amok, though that one Abnormal running around like a drunk bloodthirsty fashion diva perhaps fulfilled the quota? In any case, I find myself actually looking forward to reading Vol. 2.

As I understood it, Hikaru Suruga should be commended for getting the art to look nearly exactly like the art of the original AOT manga. However, he should also be berated for making it look nearly exactly like the truly awful original art. Any opportunity to change how that art looks should be taken immediately. Although I thought some of it was maybe ever so slightly better? Or maybe I was just getting used to it D:

Oh, and one more thing....

The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker
The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker - E. D. Baker

Such a low rating purely for a stunning lack of interest.

"The wind died down as soon as it could no longer blow her around."

Erm, pardon me, but isn't the wind not being to blow Cory around an effect rather than a cause for the wind dying down?

AOT: Volume 4
Attack on Titan, Volume 4 - Hajime Isayama

BAAAACK STORY.

Love me some backstory, but I'll admit it took me a while to figure out where in the book they switched from present to past to present again.

And these ratings have a lot to do with the artwork. The artwork is terrible.
