Judy Moody Goes to College - Megan McDonald,Peter H. Reynolds
For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-Cycle

I grew up reading the Judy Moody books and as I read some of the later books for the first time as a adult, I still feel the same engagement as when I was younger. This one had such a unique storyline. It was fun to see Judy experience some aspects of college life and put her own spin on things. I also love the consistency of the writing and find each book just as good as the first.

As with the other books, fun voice, great illustrations, and creative wordplay. An awesome (or "crucial" rather) read.

At the end of the book are bonus features unique to this story including "Judy Moody's Not-Webster's New World College Dictionary" as well as features from Judy Moody's Way Wacky Uber Awesome Book of More Fun Stuff to Do such as ideas for redecorating your bedroom and glamming up your flip flops.

Fun, entertaining read with a unique story that is pure Judy Moody.

Judy Moody: Around the World in 8 1/2 Days - Megan McDonald,Peter H. Reynolds

Another wonderful Judy Moody adventure. I loved these books growing up and I still love them today. They are nice, easy reads that still incorporate great messages and entertaining stories. This one focuses on balancing new friends and old friends, a topic that is very relatable. The story does a good job presenting the excitement of forming relationships with new people and the resulting struggle of keeping previous friendships in your life with very good messages along the way.

There is also bonus content at the end including "10 Things You May Not Know About Megan McDonald" (which includes a little anecdote about the real-life inspiration to that traumatic newt storyline from Stink: The Incredible Shrinking Kid) and "10 Things You May Not Know About Peter H. Reynolds" as well as how to say "Hello" and "Later" in various languages as featured in Judy Moody's Way Wacky Uber Awesome Book of More Fun Stuff to Do.

A great book about friendship, class projects, and problem solving told in perfect Judy Moody fashion.

JUDY MOOD WAS IN A MOOD by Megan McDonald
Judy Moody Was in a Mood - Megan McDonald,Barbara Rosenblat
Judy was in a bad mood and taking it out on everyone.  Sometimes someone did something she liked and it put her in a good mood until something happened she didn't like then she was back in a bad mood.

I enjoyed this book.  It was funny and the illustrations were great.  I like the world building here.  As an adult I would enjoy revisiting Judy's world.  I liked Stink (what a name) and Rocky.  I also thought it was good that Judy had to revise her opinion about Frank Pearl!  As I buy this series for a great niece I know I'll be reading them first!

Judy Moody Saves The World, Megan McDonald
Judy Moody Saves The World! - Megan McDonald,Peter H. Reynolds

This middle school age book was fun. I received it for free and voluntarily chose to review it. While it was fun with a lot of action, the characters lacked any real depth. I would have liked to see a little more. While it was centered on recycling and saving the world, I would have liked to have answers as to why. I would hope that this would make some of our teenagers think about it more. Because it was a little fun and a good subject matter, I've given this a 4* rating and I'll be sharing this with my grandchildren.

Judy Moody #1 by Megan McDonald, Peter H. Reynolds (Illustrator)

Why yes, I am an adult who reads children books.

I will be 80 and still reading picture books. It doesn't matter that books like this are targeted toward preteens or teenagers. I think it is sad if we get to a point in our life where we say "Well I'm XX now, can no longer enjoy that thing I used to enjoy..." It's fine if we naturally outgrow things of course, but don't force yourself to do so if you don't want to.

Judy Moody is a series I could have read when I was around the "right" age, not a preteen, but a teenager. I never read it because of pressure of trying to read things for my age or things that were above my reading level.

I was Judy's age once. It is fun to read about her silly adventures and put myself in her shoes. I never want to get to the point where I can't relate to younger (or older) characters.

Judy and her family are great. Kids of all ages, and kids at heart should get to know them.

*I read this twice. Once from the library and once provided by Netgally*
