“When I was a girl … I was terribly sure trees and flowers were the same as birds or people. That they thought things, and talked among themselves. And we could hear them if we really tried. It was just a matter of emptying your head of all other sounds. Being very quiet and listening very hard.”

~ In Cold Blood, Truman Capote

quote 2013-10-17 16:38
“Don't ever apologize to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). ― Neil Gaiman

I had seen where someone was being put down for looking for bargains on books.  I say Shame on those people. Many people are unable to afford Brand New, Hardback Books! I would think all authors would be like Neil Gaiman and would want their books to be read, at the least. If I really like a book, I may even save the money to buy that New book.

I don't want to be married just to be married. I can't think of anything lonelier than spending the rest of my life with someone I can't talk to, or worse, someone I can't be silent with.
