Penthouse Prince - Kendall Ryan

Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ryan has a way of opening your eyes to the real world, while putting a smile in your heart. Penthouse Prince steps out of cheesy, childhood fantasy and into the emotions that make us into who we are. Lex and Corrigan dare to be beautiful by facing the ugliest heartache head on. Hold on to your hearts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

The Penthouse Prince, by Virginia Nelson

Single mom Jeanie Long was trying to save her butt at work by reporting her manager to the company owner. Instead, she finds herself greeted warmly by gorgeous company CEO Camden James...and introduced to his father as his fiancée. Now she's been hired—complete with a hefty pay raise—to be the fake fiancée of the infamous “Penthouse Prince.”

Camden doesn't believe in love. He believes in mutually beneficial business arrangements. With his real fiancée off cheating on him, Camden needs someone to help him prove to his father that he's definitely ready to marry. Yet Jeanie's combination of beauty and bluntness act like an aphrodisiac, and their “for the press” kisses look incredibly real. So real that Jeanie and Camden are either really convincing actors...or they've fallen for their own charade.

To capture a penthouse princess
Penthouse Prince (Entangled Indulgence) - Virginia Nelson

Camden Jones is Janie Long's employer.  She goes upstairs to talk to him about her boss sleeping with his boss.  Only to find him in the middle of his own complicated situation and asking her to be his pretend fiance to fool his father.

Jeanie is not sure what to do or say.  She does not think she will be able to keep her job.  Each time she tries to do hers and obey the rules, she seems to have a problem.  Now her main CEO boss wants her to play house?

Camden has a father who he wants to get even with.  He killed his mother for all intents and purposes and he wants to see him lose everything.  He recruits Jeanie since his other fake fiance went off and slept with someone else trying to stir up trouble.  He did not count on Jeanie, though.  She makes him want everything he never thought he wanted.

Jeanie is afraid to feel too much.  She needs the money this arrangement can bring.  For her sister especially.  The life she can give her would be a better one.  Her mother will prove to be a problem, she figures, but with more funds, she can do more.

Camden wants to convince her they can be married forever.  First, he has to get her to say "I DO."  She is the first woman he has ever thought that about.  He wants to try for forever.  What words does she need?  He is even jealous of his own best friend when he talks to Jeanie.

Their relationship is quite an amazing read.  There is banter, sexy times, family time, and so much more.  I found that this book was worth every penny.  I recommend we all get this book and talk about it!  I give it a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

***This book is also 99 cents right now for those of you who cannot wait!  Just get it!

Review

This book with one of my favorite themes of the fake engagement starts out strong. There is sizzle between the leads and a kind of randomness to their meeting that makes the love story extra fun. The fact that the heroine has a child adds new layers to this theme. However, this fact wasn't integrated in a way that was compelling. The little girl became more of a plot point than anything else. The heroine's best friend was great. The book floundered for me in the end with too much push pull cliche but was a fun read overall.

I was given this book for my honest review. So there you have it.
