Emotions: Poems by Renee Gresock
Emotions - Renee' Gresock

Author Renee Gresock, inspired by the daily struggles that come with living with VonHippel-Undau Syndrome, offers up a collection of poems that tackle such themes as mental battles, hardening of the soul following heartbreak, and existential questions often stirred up in the midst of life struggles and subsequent emotional turmoil. She also touches upon some of the more stressful moments of motherhood, the tricky elements of co-parenting with an ex, the hurt of others making snap judgments without knowing your full story, broken marriage, and the exciting whirlwind of a fresh new love.

Primarily set in rhyming verse, the writing itself is simple in form and flow, yet the messages still pack quite the punch. The tone of the various selections, led by the theme of many forms of heart hurts, alternates between hesitant optimism and borderline nihilism. It's a perfect collection to start with for readers new to the poetry genre.

My personal favorites from this collection:

✦ "I Should Be"

✦ "Gonna"

✦ "Echoes In The Breeze"

 "First Sight"

✦ "Life's Heartache"

✦ "Our Love"

Reading progress update: I've read 50%.
The Night Fire - Michael Connelly

So Bosch and Renee's POVs still work well together. I think the two cases that are going on are giving me a bit of whiplash though. Definitely happy to see Mickey Haller again. The constant put down of defense attorney's makes me roll my eyes though. It's like these people don't live in a world where the Central Park 6 was a thing.

24 Festive Tasks: Door 7 - International Day for Tolerance: Task 1
The Wrath and the Dawn - Renee Ahdieh,Ariana Delawari

Task: Find a redeeming quality in a book you read this year and didn’t like.

I've never understood the rave reviews that this book is getting, but then, I'm not its target audience; and I suppose if you read it as a straight-up YA fantasy, you might find it OK.  My problem with it consisted in the fact that Ahdieh had actually written it as historical fiction with a few minor fantasy elements -- or at least, that's the way it very much came across to me -- without actually having bothered to do the required research, and thus it came up straight against one of my absolute pet peeves.  But if you don't think historical accuracy and the meaning of the words you are using actually matters, or if you think that YA readers deserve less respect and attention than other readers, I guess you might end up liking this book.

Book Reviews for Foolish Riot (Riot MC Book 5) by Karen Renee
Foolish Riot (Riot MC Book 5) Kindle Edition - Karen Renee

"We really loved this latest installment !"
I have to say that this is one of my favorite installments in this series. I absolutely loved these main characters Roll and Trixie.

I always pick a favorite character and mine is going to me Trixie. Trixie was a firecracker and she was also funny and was a tell in like it is kind of gal and she was also bright and funny and a freak in the sheets. "We loved her instantly !" We loved that although Trixie had a rough start in life she did not let it destroyed her it just made her into a strong and independent women and one who doesn't give a crap what others think of her she lives her life just they way she wants to.

Roll was another character easy to love.We found him to be dark and brute -y and sexy as sin and he is a man who has many layers and has many moods but, he is also a man who enjoys no commitments but, there has been only one women to capture his heart and the only one to penetrate some of those layers but ,not enough to give up his freedom.

Trixie and Roll had amazing chemistry and were the perfect fit for one another until they weren't.

Overall we really enjoyed the story as it was funny and engaging and when things heated up and Roll realized he could have lost what he loved most in this world in a blink of an eye it changes a man and makes him realize his fears were no longer and issue it was about winning the girl he always considered his. It reminds me of phase
"Bring it on !"

This story was also filled with tons of great characters that were engaging and funny and it was also filled with a ton of hot alpha men that we couldn't get enough of.We loved Trixie she made us laugh out loud this entire story and that just made us love this story even more.

"This story was totally hot !"

Recommended read to all

The Flame In The Mist
Flame in the Mist - Renee Ahdieh

I really quite liked this one. Flame in the Mist was the first book I read by this author and it was a pleasant surprise. It was set in feudal Japan, so it immediately had this mysterious feel about it. Mariko as the main character was a strong young girl who sets out on an interesting quest.

I would like to see where this story is going from here.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
