A refined Scottish courtier. A rugged British spy. And an affair that will change the course of history. Everything changes when the shocking deception is revealed in this seductive novel from USA Today bestselling author Sharon Cullen.

Ladies in waiting can’t help noticing more than they let on. After so many years at the court of Mary, Queen of Scots, Emma Howard sees quite plainly that the royal couple is anything but happy. Reeling from a failed marriage herself, Emma sympathizes with her beloved queen. But the last thing she wants is for the king to be murdered, let alone to witness the shocking act herself. With her whole world turned upside-down, Emma is saved by the quick thinking of a lowly printer . . . who, unbeknownst to her, is one of England’s most daring spies.

At Queen Elizabeth’s behest, Tristan has been stirring discontent against the Scottish nobility. Now that the king is dead, his mission is even more critical. There’s only one complication: the exquisite courtier who’s unexpectedly fallen under Tristan’s protection. Emma rouses his body and his soul. But after she learns that he’s a traitor, the fate of two nations hangs on her response. Tristan’s prepared to risk his life in exchange for hers. Will Emma do the same for the man she’s come to love?

Don’t miss these novels in the All the Queen’s Spies series:

Let's start off my saying
that its been sometime since  I have read anything by this author so I was so glad to come across this title and reacquaint myself with her stories.I love reading historical romances but, as of late I have been trying out other gene's and authors but historical romances with always be a favorite of mine.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the story as it was a really a sweet romance that developed between Tristan and Emma and I am glad their unlikely paths crossed  for a reason. This couple were super sweet and cute together and I love how their new love developed slowly but, as it turned out really ended up being a healing bond for both of them.

I love Emma as she was sweet, kind, charming, caring clever, smart and for a noble not at all haughty or vain but down to earth. For all that Emma has gone through in her short life she has for the most part remained and innocent although not oblivious to the danger that surrounded her.
"I loved this about her. "

Tristan was a sweetheart and kind, compassionate, a bit lonely and one who had a few of his own past regrets that weighed him down.Tristan's compassionate nature helped heal Emma mentally and physically and it gave her a new lease on life and in turned healed his own battered heart just by loving him.

The story flowed nicely and it was nice to see a couple fall for one another in the mist of the chaos surrounding them as both of them had  loyalties to two different queens yet were perfect for one another.I loved the lengths Emma was willing to go to save the one she loved with no thought of the ramifications to her own safety and future.

I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I did just that.I loved Tristan and Emma from the onset of the story as you could not help it as they both were both loving and kind.

Overall I enjoyed the story and plot and the character's themselves. My only complaint is I personally don't like a story that doesn't tie up loose ends.I didn't like just how the story ended.Where was the Epilogue? For me there were so many unanswered questions left  like ...

Was Queen Mary involved in the plot to kill her husband?

Was Lord Bothwell part of a plot to murder Darnley or did he do the deed himself ?

And so forth.....

We can come to our own conclusions of what happened  but, the stories plot left more questions than answers and I do not like that.

This ended up to be the third book in this series and I will most definitely reading book one and two to get caught up.

A nice historical romance to pass the time.

USA Today bestselling author, mom, wife, taxi driver, chef, mediator, housekeeper, friend and dog lover.

At the age of nine my lifelong ambition was to own a horse and write a book. I've published 19 books but have yet to own a horse. Three kids, one dog and one husband are enough for me right now.

My dream is to retire to St. Maarten, or some equivalent place with white sand and turquoise water. Hopefully that dream won't go the way of the horse.

Awesome Historical Romance
Heart of a Highlander: Scottish Historic... Heart of a Highlander: Scottish Historical Romance (A Laird to Love Book 2) - Tammy Andresen

Heart Of A Highlander by Tammy Andresen is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time.  Ms. Andresen has delivered a well-written book.  I love the characters in this book.  They are phenomenal.  Colin and Fiona's story is loaded with drama, action, humor, sizzle and misunderstandings.  Heart Of A Highlander was a totally fun book to read and I look forward to reading more from Tammy Andresen in the future.  Heart Of A Highlander is book 2 of the A Laird To Love Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Fabulous Historical Romance
My Enemy, My Earl: Scottish Historical Romance (A Laird to Love Book 1) - Tammy Andresen

My Enemy, My Earl is an amazing historical romance by Tammy Andresen.  Ms. Andresen has given us another well-written book and filled it with awesome, lovable characters.  Ewan is returning home to Scotland, years after being drafted to fight in a war he was forced into by England.  Clarissa is running to her uncle in Scotland and from her embarrassment of her broken engagement in London.  Their story is a rollercoaster ride of love, hate, misunderstandings and pranks, creating plenty of drama, humor and sizzle.  I loved every page of this book and look forward to my next book by the talented Tammy Andresen.  My Enemy, My Earl is book 1 of the A Laird To Love Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Christmastide With My Captain is a fabulous holiday romance by Tammy Andresen.  This is a very quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading during this busy season.  Ms Andresen has given us a wonderful story that is well-written and filled with amazing, loveable characters.  Emilia and Jack's story is full of action, drama and sizzle.  This story may be short, but it's a fun read and will keep you glued to your e-reader.  I enjoyed Christmastide With My Captain and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen.

Christmastide With My Captain is a prequel to the A Laird To Love Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
