Shhh! I'm Reading!
Shhh! I'm Reading! - John Kelly
This was a cute, oversized, children’s book with very busy illustrations. The illustrations alone are worth checking this book out. From pirates, to penguins, to an octopus named Flabulon, this book’s illustrations are fun to look at and admire. The story I thought was just okay, as I wished Bella would have acted differently.

The book centers around a wet and windy Sunday afternoon. Bella normally plays with her toys on Sundays but today, Bella is absorbed into reading her book. One-by-one her toys approach her to ask if she is ready to play their normal Sunday activities with her but each time, she tells them that she can’t play today as she is reading. Bella gets more annoyed and angrier as the toys approach her.

The illustrations show the amazing time that Bella has with each of the toys, as they each reminisce playing with her, as they talk with her about playing. Bella though, continues to read her book. The toys then gather in the corner by her bookshelf, taking five and trying to be quiet as Bella commanded them to do, just waiting for her to be finished. Why she couldn’t read out-loud to them or be nicer to them, I don’t know but I thought she was rather rude and mean to them.

So, what will happen when she’s done reading? Will her toys want to play with her then? You’ll be surprised.

Shhh! Don't Wake the Royal Baby - Martha Mumford,Aga Grey

The Royal Family has a new addition, a little baby boy. Sadly this little baby boy can't sleep, or at least, not long enough.

It was a really adorable book, I loved the baby and how the poor thing just wanted to sleep but couldn't because of all the noises in the palace. All the characters are easily recognizable, from the Duchess and Duke to the Queen, and Prince (not King) Charles). Especially loved how the Queen looked so normal, and happy. Really liked how she likes jumping out of plans with a parachute (nice hint to a certain Olympics where it seemed she was jumping out of a helicopter?).

The illustrations were really colourful and nice, adding lots of little details.

The ideas to get the kid to sleep were hilarious at most times, and simple at best. The last page was really a nice closer, the whole Royal Family is now asleep.

Bonuspoints for adding super adorable corgis. I had fun seeking out those and laughing at how silly they looked at times.

A really cute book, and I would recommend it to everyone. :)

Shhh! Don't Wake the Royal Baby - Martha Mumford,Aga Grey The Royal Baby was sleeping. But then...

KA-CHING! KA-CHING! KA-CHING!

"Oh no, what's that noise?" moaned the Royal Nanny.

She opened the window, and saw that it was thousands of merchandisers cashing in on a fortunate opportunity. Within seconds, the Royal Baby was awake again.

WAH! WAH! WAH!

"What are we going to do?" asked the haggard Prince. Everyone looked at each other, and then the Cleverest Princess spoke up.

"Leave this to me!" she said.

She took out her copy of Shh! Don't Wake the Royal Baby and started reading.

She read one page.

She read two pages.

She read three pages...

... and the baby was asleep!

"Well!" she said to herself. "That was easy!" Then she looked round...

... and found that the whole Royal Family was asleep too!

Yes, the book was so dull that every single one of them had dropped off.

"Even better than I'd expected," said the Cleverest Princess. "I'll be able to read some Proust instead of this fucking mass-produced crap." [Surely some mistake? - Ed.]
