This was definitely a classic Lifetime movie scenario. Stalkers and teenagers and drama. Initial reaction is it isn't bad, but it isn't for me. I don't like thrillers/suspenseful type books. Even my husband was surprised when I told him what I was reading. But Nenia is a friend, so I wanted to see what her writing was like.

And it isn't bad at all. It's just not my cup of tea. There were type-o's and wrong tenses, but being an indie author, I totally get that being your own editor or having a friend edit can end up not getting them all. So not a big deal. It only seriously bothers me when I see huge publishers mess up or see incredibly popular books full of eff-ups.

My biggest issue with the story boils down to parenting. The adults in this book fail this girl on every level. If you find out your daughter has a stalker, you act. If she is assaulted and begs you not to call the cops, you stop being a friend and start being a parent. Things like this have always annoyed me about some adults. I would be breaking down doors with a gun in my hand if anyone hurt my son. I'm a momma bear, that's for sure.

Anyway, with a bit of editing and some more world building, this would totally rock. So now my curiosity is quenched. :)

And I totally want a toyger.

*laughs* Dude thinks I will reconsider reading his crappy book after he bitched out my friend. Nah. I've read a few quotes from this atrocious "novel" and dude, you need to take writing classes.

Authors like myself need to learn to carry themselves with professionalism. Don't they get that acting an ass will effect their careers? I never comment on my reviews but I am always up for discussion with reviewers (as lots of you know. I'm a chatterbox.)

So, I'm sure this ass doesn't know that his rude, almost threatening behavior is why I won't bother with his work. Like I said, professionalism! We're indie authors! Our careers depend on a reader's ability to compliment or complain about our work openly without us getting butthurt and turning homicidal on them.

Well, anyway, enough ranting. Back to knitting a new cozy for my Kindle. Carry on.

As a rule, BBAs didn't seem to be as prominent back in the day before social media. But now with Facebook and Goodcensors and Booklikes, it seems authors run wild with bad behavior. Why is that?

It's the same reason internet bullying has developed. The internet has made everything more impersonal, so people have the balls to say things they would never say to someone's face. They think it's a harmless and funny to chase down people who didn't  like their books and digitally bully them (or send their minions to do it).

I wrote a book. I haven't bitched out someone that didn't want to read it. The first day it was listed, someone marked it "No Thanks". And I'm cool with that. Not everyone wants to read your shit. Or will like your shit. Suck it up, assholes. Stop being babies. You're only making yourself seem dumb. Especially when you venture to someone else's page/review/blog and tell them how they're wrong. It's funny how, generally, we reviewers that post negative reviews never go to POSITIVE reviews and bitch out those people. It's always the other way around.

Huh. Funny how that works.
