Discussion thread for the Rogue Flat Book read The Science of the Discworld, Chapters 1-16.
I started the book early (have to give it back to the library). So far the science is pretty accurate for what they cover and the writing style is witty and amusing. Pratchett's wizards are being typical Discworld wizards. ;)
I've read enough "Story/Physics of the Universe" books to know that reading the same stuff over and over is boring, but the writing style of this books at least makes reading "old stuff" more interesting and fun.
I'm starting later today. I was in a bit of a panic last night because I couldn't find the book, even though I bought it a few weeks back. Apparently I'd mis-shelved it. :(
I'm not sure if I'll be able to start today due to plans, but hopefully I'll get a bit in tomorrow.
I plan on starting it this afternoon. It's been a bit crazy busy here, but it's supposed to rain the whole weekend - so fingers crossed I can get some progress made!
I'm finished. The review will be posted on Friday.
