Well, if the automatic process detects more than one author of the same name, if it leaves it unassigned then this does take the sting out of some of the attribution side. It's not the manual assignment that's the problem. It's the automatic one. When someone imports a new book, BookLikes takes the data from Amazon, but in the case of more than one author with the same name, it automatically assigns the first author. Automatic assignment of an author is not only a problem, it risks offending. My BDSM books get attributed to the Michelle Knight who was the kidnap victim. That's just socially not acceptable.
