100% agree, Troy.

I'm just not ready to snuff out that hope yet!

I've considered snuffing out hope, so that was more a reflection on me. I have lower points when I think of BL and the current issues, and yeah.

And yes. I told them this earlier about us being jittery with the lack of Thursday Candy/updates, and the update could be 'we're here, we're listening,' and that would be enough for a great many of us there who just wanted the communication.

It's particularly frustrating to be correct, heard, but unanswered, but there's also nothing I can do about that expect hope things get better. Now, my more pressing problem - and more importantly the one I can do something about - is where I put Captain America vs. Iron Man: Freedom, Security, Psychology. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to find my book because if I go sailing on Sunday, I want to read that. (I still don't like driving the boat, and my dad does. Piloting seems odd for sailboats, so I think of it as driving on water. Just with me freaking out a little more, especially when I get told what to do and have to remember to point the rudder the opposite way I want to go. Because driving on roads doesn't work like that.)

And even if no sailing, I'd like to read that. I will e-mail BL again at some point, but I just don't have the energy now knowing I'll probably be ignored again. I am choosing to spend my time right now on fruitful activities.
I'm not giving up home either... I refuse to. BookLikes just needs to get their sh*t together and fix it because I don't want to go anywhere else. I love this place, although I've considered sending them telegrams at this point...

Maybe we should organize a trip to Poland and all show up on their doorstep. It's a lot harder to ignore people in person. ;)
I'm in! :)
I wouldn't be surprised if they moved onto a new project.
Yes, it's making me very reluctant to continue spending a lot of time here. Makes me sad :( I'd like a definite "yes, we are here to stay!" I'm starting to feel led on and I don't like it.
Not getting email notifications is a huge frustration for me. Just off the top of my head, it's been about three weeks at least. I respond to all of my comments, new followers etc by going through all of my Booklikes emails in the evening. So I'm sure I've missed a lot of comments. I apologize if you guys have posted & I haven't responded. Also, Ive noticed a lot of new followers aren't following me back this month which is probably because they're not getting the notifications either. I've been using YouKneek's tool every few days to check to see if I have any new followers that I need to follow back. Thanks again YouKneek for your work on creating those scripts for us! They have been very useful!

Thanks Hooked on Books, I’m really happy it’s been useful!
The communication thing is so frustrating. I think they’ve answered our questions by their silence. Even if there were a catastrophic issue and they really wanted to work on the site but couldn't, they could at least put out a quick post to explain what's going on and give an estimated time frame.

I wish they would at least tell us their plans. I don’t know how it all works, but I wonder if they could find somebody else to sell the website to? Preferably before they drive it into the ground through neglect. BL is a good concept with a good community. I think it could be a really successful site if it had staff that was motivated, knew how to communicate, and had sufficient technical expertise.

I don’t have Facebook, but I Googled their Facebook page. They have a couple recent comments from two new users who have been trying to sign up for a week, and who have contacted BL for help without receiving a response. Basically the same type of thing Scarlet’s Web said she was seeing on Twitter a few days ago. https://www.facebook.com/BookLikes/

They have to be pretty motivated to try the site if they’re putting that much effort into getting help, and we're probably going to lose them. If it had been me, casually wanting to try the site, I would have given up pretty quick and would have required some major convincing to ever try the site again. One person said she’s sent BL 3 e-mails trying to get help.
It means little in regard to the issues right now (communication and notifications) but it seems like someone is working on BL in the background; I've seen small tweaks here and there in the book database that weren't there last week, while I'm doing library functions. I mention this not to inflame anybody further about lack of communication, but in the hopes that it reassures some that at least someone is working behind the scenes, even if they aren't talking to us.

BookLikes, please talk to us.

No, I'm talking about small changes in how the librarian functions work in the background: combining, merging, etc.
I went to the “Team” page (http://booklikes.com/team), and then Googled the name of the person listed as the CEO and Co-founder (Dawid Piaskowski). I was hoping to find an alternate contact e-mail, or maybe some info about what he's working on.

The first thing I found was his LinkedIn page. https://pl.linkedin.com/in/dawidpiaskowski
* It has him listed as CEO and co-founder of BookLikes from: “2011 – kwiecień 2016 (5 lat)”.
* Google translates “kwiecień 2016 (5 lat)” as “April 2016 (5 years)”.

So, if my calendar skills haven’t failed me, he stopped being our "CEO and co-founder" last month. Do we have any idea who’s running this site?

I thought Joanna Grzelak might be a possibility, and then I found this, posted in May 2016: http://www.the-hundert.com/startups/joanna-grzelak-piaskowska-of-booklikes-even-if-you-fail-so-what/

The pertinent bit at the end: "After selling Okazjum.pl to Bauer Media Group in 2015 and BookLikes in 2016, Joanna with her husband are already working on something new."
Wow… good info. It’s amazing that there has been no communication whatsoever. I mean, if they sold the site, then it seems like we have reason to be hopeful that the new owners will be motivated to improve things. After all, why buy a site if you don’t want it to succeed? But the fact that they haven’t announced their presence or answered our questions or given us any info whatsoever seems to say the opposite.
