New Release Review: Blood Oath (Shifters Unlimited #1) K.H. LeMoyne
Blood Oath - K.H. LeMoyne

How fast can you outrun death when it has you by the throat?

Callum Mann will do whatever it takes to get his pregnant mate across the territory line to safety and free from his alpha’s grasp. Even if he has to sacrifice himself.

Raised a survivor, Gillian isn’t about to let anything stand between her family’s freedom and happiness. Not a vengeful alpha, a twisted killer, or a rogue enforcer.

SHIFTERS UNLIMITED SERIES

Prequel 1: Blood Oath

Book 1: Hidden

Book 2: Missing

Book 3: Traitor

GENRE: Shifter / Were paranormal romance

HEAT LEVEL: Some sexually explicit content

NOTE** This book includes the full novel, Blood Oath, and the novelette, Fight Night.

Blood Oath adds lots of depth to the Shifters Unlimited books that have already been released, because it goes back to where it all started and gives a few things a different perspective. Can you enjoy reading the books without reading this prequel, of course, but you would be missing out.

It’s almost like reading two stories in one – first you have Callum and Gillian two strong characters who defy the alpha in order to have their happily ever after. Their romance is sweet but their relations is fraught with danger from the very beginning which keeps readers glued to the pages. Second you have an assassin sent out to find another young woman and it seems that their paths are all on a collision course that adds lots of turbulence and emotional turmoil to the story. The suspense builds throughout the book with thrills and surprising twists even as the decisions made by the characters draw the readers further into their story ensuring that the reader wants to know everything.

The author also included Fight Night, a thrilling short story that gives readers a better perspective on Alpha wolf Deacon Black and how he became the Alpha and his motivations behind his “alphaship.” It is full of danger and emotional turmoil as well, so readers really get an exciting read while learning about the beginning of the Shifters Unlimited series.

K.H. LeMoyne has provided another compelling book to the series and I was completely caught up in the characters from the very beginning. I can’t wait to read Traitor which is due to be released in December.

Blood Oath is the 1st Book in the Shifters Unlimited series.

Traitor the 3rd book is December 12, 2017!

New Release 4 STAR Reviews! Wolf Hunter & Wolf Leader (Arctic Brotherhood # 5 & 6) Jane Godman
Wolf Leader - Jane Godman
Wolf Hunter - Jane Godman

The fifth book in the new Arctic Brotherhood series--heart-pounding werewolf romances by Jane Godman that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

They are the Arctic Brotherhood.

They are deadly fighters, fierce protectors and loyal mates.

Six months ago, the Arctic Brotherhood was torn apart when a respected former member, Hendrik Rickard was murdered. Cindy Harper, Hendrik’s best friend and housekeeper, is still struggling to come to terms with his death when she feels an invisible presence watching her. Alone and frightened, she turns to the only man who can help her.

Sebastian Novak is the maverick of the Arctic Brotherhood. Infuriated at the lack of progress they have made toward defeating their sworn enemy, Chastel, Sebastian wants to go on the attack. The discovery that Cindy is being targeted, increases his fury further. Forced to deny his feelings for Cindy in the past, Sebastian is overwhelmed by the strength of his desire for her as he protects her from this new threat.

Sebastian and Cindy succumb to the intensity of the attraction between them, but their lives are thrown into turmoil by a series of unexpected events. Before they can claim the happiness they have long denied themselves, they must face the evil mastermind determined to destroy the brotherhood.

Let me start off telling you that Wolf Hunter is the first that I have read in the Artic Brotherhood series and I really have to question my lack of judgement in missing out on this thrilling series.

In relation to the above statement, the author let information trickle into the story in just the right way to provide me with enough of the back story to pick up on the major conflict of the series without giving too much away or letting it take up too much of the current story.  So the book can be read without reading the others but I do believe it will be better when I read the other ones and then re-read this one.

Cindy and Sebastian’s chemistry heats up the pages while their romance is being overshadowed by the evil that is stalking Cindy. The main characters are strong and readers can easily get caught up in their story and the supporting characters are just as strong and make up quite a brotherhood to fight Fenrir and the sorcerer Chastel which gives the story a well-rounded and solid group to engage reader’s imagination.

The action, suspense and thrills keep readers on the edge of their seats as the hero and heroine along with the rest of the Brotherhood fight to get ahead of the malevolent plans that Chastel and Fenrir have in store for them and the rest of the world and the twists and turns ensure that readers never stop turning the pages. I also would like to give the author a thumbs up on the climatic ending and the setting up for the final book!

Jane Godman has taken me surprise with her world of Norse mythology and werewolves and I will definitely be on the look-out for more books from her in the future.

Wolf Leader

The final book in the new Arctic Brotherhood series--heart-pounding werewolf romances by Jane Godman that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

They are the Arctic Brotherhood.

They are deadly fighters, fierce protectors and loyal mates.

Their sworn enemy is dead, but the Arctic Brotherhood can’t relax. Fenrir, the Norse god of destruction is still determined to destroy the world. Vigo Durand agrees to lead the team against the most feared werewolf the world has ever known, but dark secrets from his past are threatening to catch up with him.

Amber Merova has been on the run for the last five years ago. When she meets Vigo, her werewolf mating impulse almost overwhelms her human instinct for survival. Almost. Feisty, determined, and hostile, Amber initially turns down Vigo’s offer to stay with the Brotherhood. When it looks like the men who murdered her pack have caught up with her, she has no choice but to take his offer of protection.

Both seem damaged beyond repair, but, as they work together to bring down Fenrir, they discover hidden ties that bind them together. Before they can look to the future, they must unravel the mysteries of the past.

Both, Vigo and Amber’s pasts add lots of turbulence to the story in all ways including their romance. The emotional distance between what they want and what they feel tugs at reader’s hearts as they get caught up in their lives and of course their characters are strong and well liked which means the readers want to know everything.

The fifth book ended with such a dramatic and important statement of intent for the Brotherhood, that I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. In some ways it surpassed my expectations, but in others it was a little anticlimactic. Fenrir is supposed to be the big bad but was the ending all there was, it certainly had lots of twists and turns and misdirection in the story which kept the suspense building and I enjoyed the story, it just left me feeling as if there was something missing when it came to the ending.

The Epilogue was great as it provided a great ending for the characters and answered the few questions left regarding them. But when it comes to gods and goddesses of any flavor whether they be good or evil, I believe my expectations may be a bit more than what we saw here, but that is just me and as I don’t want to give away any spoilers, I won’t go into too much detail.

Let me be clear, just because I was expecting more doesn’t meant that Jane Godman didn’t do a fine job of writing the battle between the Brotherhood and Fenrir, the book was full of suspense and kept me turning the pages until I had read every last word. So I will still be out looking for more books by her as I can’t wait to find out what she has in store for us readers next.

Release Day 4 STAR Review! Highland Dragon Rebel (Dawn of the Highland Dragon #2) Isabel Cooper
Highland Dragon Rebel (Dawn of the Highland Dragon) - Isabel Cooper

Madoc of Avandos is on a journey to cement alliances. Targeted by an assassin, he needs a companion who can fight. When dragon shifter Moiread MacAlasdair returns from war, he knows she's the best woman for the job. Duty and political strength compel Moiread to agree, but when they cross into the otherworld and Madoc's life is threatened, Moiread jumps into protection mode-and will do whatever it takes to keep the man of her dreams alive.

Moiread and Madoc are brought to brilliant life as readers join them on their quest to protect the future of Wales. Along the way the couple enjoy a light hearted romance that they both seem to believe can’t really go any further due to some pretty interesting concerns which keeps readers wondering until the very end.

Their romance as well as their quest is fraught with danger and suspense as assassins seem to pop up everywhere with the determination to keep them from accomplishing their goal. The thrilling uncertainty certainly keeps readers on the edge of their seat as magic and dragons add wonder and excitement for readers and characters alike.

The story is set in long ago Scotland, England and Wales as well as another magical realm which adds spice and beauty to the journey for the readers and the pace is a nice even one that keeps readers glued to the pages. I have to say that keeping the romance on such an intriguing last minute timeline kept the “happily ever after” in question throughout and then there was a spectacular final battle between Madoc, Moiread and the assassin to liven things up while adding an inspired and surprising twist that I didn’t see coming.

I haven’t read the first book in the Dawn of the Highland Dragon series yet, but I am definitely going to be remedying that before the release of Highland Dragon Master in March and not just because I love dragon shifters. Isabel Cooper used well written descriptions to paint vibrant settings and brilliant characters that I just fell in love with so I can’t wait to visit the Highland Dragons once again.

Highland Dragon Rebel is the 2nd book in the Dawn of the Highland Dragon series.

Highland Dragon Master will be released on March 6, 2018.

Release Day Review! Wolf Tales 11: Anton (Wolf Tales 11) by Kate Douglas
Wolf Tales 11: Anton - Kate Douglas

Tala and Lisa, both in the final stages of pregnancy, are kidnapped and become pawns in a terrible plot to assassinate the president of the United States.

Unwilling to concede to the kidnappers’ demands, the men summon Anton for help. Devising a daring rescue plan, the über alpha calls upon the pack to lose themselves in an erotic encounter like never before. Drawing on their sexual energy will enable him to outmatch even their strongest enemies.

But Anton’s plan requires a sacrifice even the wizard didn't intend to make.

WOW! Anton is thrilling and sinfully sexy!

The wolf shifter world has an original, complex and dynamic culture that sets it apart from other shifter worlds and Kate Douglas brings it to brilliant life with well-written words and multifaceted, sexy characters that draw readers in and keep them coming back for more. The stories are super-hot and make wet dreams seem like child’s play in comparison, unless of course your wet dreams include the Chanku characters.

All the previous characters compose multiple scenes of the book which keeps readers hopping and enjoying some sizzling sex scenes. The book is full of emotional turbulence that runs a gauntlet of feelings as the characters overcome adversity and experience joy. Anton, being the pack alpha, really pulls readers into the story with his mysterious and strong personality, of course all of these characters have strong personalities, which provides lots of stimulus for readers.

The book starts off with one red hot scene and then immediately takes readers on a thrilling ride as suspense as a dangerous enemy sets the Chanku on a perilous journey that pulls them in different directions and has them dealing with some very difficult decisions and even the goddess, Eve has to lend a little assistance which keeps readers on the edge of their seat.

The stories is the Wolf Tales series really need to be read in order if you want fully enjoy the experience, but at the same time as long as you have a good understanding of the Chanku world you can enjoy Anton’s book if you’ve missed the previous one. As for me, reading this book was one steamy experience that had me glued to the pages and I really can’t wait for the re-release of number 12.

Wolf Tales 11: Anton is the 11 novel in the Wolf Tales series.

Wolf Tales 12 will be re-released in January 2018.

From the author: This new edition of Wolf Tales 11 is the same story as the original--new cover, typos (hopefully) all caught, and a much lower price.

New Release Review! The Christmas Cowboy Hero (Hearts of Texas # 1) Donna Grant
The Christmas Cowboy Hero (Heart of Texas) - Donna Grant

’Tis the season for ex-Navy SEAL Clayton East to come home for the holidayseven if the mood at home is anything but festive. His father is ill. The East Ranch is in financial trouble. And now it’s on Clayton, the prodigal son, to make sure his family doesn’t lose everything.

Headstrong Abby Harper is like a mother to her younger brothers, who she’s helped raise since she was a teenager. Keeping them in line is no small task while she’s also working toward her college degree. And now that one of her brothers has been arrested for stealing cattle at the East Ranch, Abby is at her wit’s end. But there is a silver lining: Clayton East. He believes in second chances, and is willing to give one to her brother this Christmas. Letting beautiful Abby
and the inescapable longing in his heartoff the hook, however, is a whole nother story. Could it be that the woman of this local heros dreams has been back at home all along?

A holiday mood inspiring story that will capture your heart and send it soaring as this unsuspecting couple finds romance over the Christmas holidays.

Clayton and Abby are well written characters that definitely tug at heartstrings as both are tormented by a past that drives their present lives. This story brings family together and builds a future that looks bright and full for characters that wasn’t so sure what the future would bring which has the relationship being a bit turbulent throughout but interspaced with lots of good feeling romance as the couple overcome the obstacles in their path to happiness.

This well paced story mostly focuses on romance and family, it also has a bit of suspense as bad guys threaten to take away the happiness before it really gets going. Part of the suspense is what actually brings this couple together, so it adds that bit of “good things can begin from something dark” and the mystery of finding out who their enemies really are adds thrills balancing out the romance and emotional aspect of the story making it a well-rounded story that I just had to finish before I could put it down.

Overall you have a wonderful happily ever after holiday romance that has a touch of suspense. Donna Grant always gives reader fantastic stories that I just love to read. They make you feel good and her characters always come to life and make it easy for readers get caught up in their story and as always, when it comes to this author I can’t wait for the next Heart of Texas novel.
