Good Story and Characters
Stealing Second (Feeling the Heat) - Alison Packard

Katherine/Katie had left Dallas seventeen years ago . She worked for the San Francisco Blaze baseball team. Doug was the general manager. Tom was the manager of the team and from Texas also. Tom was the one who had broken Katie’s heart. Katherine held the title of Senior vice president of communications for the Blaze team. Tom felt Katie had walked away from him seventeen years ago without a goodbye. John and Katie had fallen in love in high school. Katie’s family had money John’s didn’t. Katie and John had been mislead about a fake rape accusation. So each believes the other just walked away. The families felt that Tom and Katie should follow their own dreams, that they were too young to be so serious. Now Katherine refuses to talk to Tom about anything except Blaze business especially not about the past. But neither has found a love like they had with each other, the attraction was also still there as well as feelings.

I liked this story a lot. It made me mad the families were willing to cause both Tom and Katie so much pain and caused them to break up. I do think there were a few too many subplots going on but did get past them to finish this story. I loved the characters especially John and Katie and all they go through. I recommend.

I received an ARC of this story for an honest review

Trust is key
The Winning Season - Alison Packard

Kelly Maxwell and Matt Scanlon met a few months before they had to work together.  It did not go well, and now they are basically enemies.  His best friend is dating her sister, so their paths cross even without work.

Kelly is still mad at the confrontation they had when they first met.  He is hurting from something in his past he does not want to share with anyone.  Now, he has been traded and works for the same MLB team she does.  When she asks him to do interviews, he always refuses.

Matt has a had a rough year and is trying to make it better.  Meeting Kelly actually woke him up and made him see the errors he was making.  Now, he is working hard to be the best catcher in the league.

The attraction between them is obvious.  The room literally sizzles with the sparks that fly around them.  Kelly hates that she is attracted to him.  She has a past full of pain as well.  Can they find that a friendship of honesty works for them and move on?

I was impressed with the writing and how these sensitive subjects were handled.  I loved the honesty and heat between the leading characters. This is book # 2 in Feeling the Heat series.  A must read for lovers of sports.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Stealing Second by Alison Packard - Author - Blog Tour, Review &‪ ‎Giveaway‬
Stealing Second (Feeling the Heat) - Alison Packard

My only complaints are that it took half of the book for the truth about their break up to come up, and that they hadn't talked up about their past for the two years they've worked together. Other than that, it was a pretty good second chance romance and Tom was one of the sweetest guys! Can be read as a standalone even though its the fifth book of the series.

Breaking His Rules
Breaking His Rules - Alison Packard

This is the first book I've read by this author. I came across it because of the sale price. I picked it up because the story line looked interesting. I like the "he liked me before I lost weight" trope. Unfortunately, this, like a number of books with this theme, was preachy...

Dieting is horrible.
All people who leave their pets at a shelter suck.
Anyone who didn't give you the time of day before you got "hot" is a monster.

Everything seems very black and white/principled. What about the psycho gym woman - where was the discussion of mental health in her case.

I just didn't connect with this so much. The hero and heroine had likable moments, but mostly felt luke warm.

The Winning Season By Alison Packard 99 cents
The Winning Season - Alison Packard

Kelly Maxwell has finally landed her dream job as publicist for the San Francisco Blaze. But the team's newest member, handsome bad boy catcher Matt Scanlon, is refusing every interview. She's got to get him to open up before the season ends, or she may not be back next year. And after everything she overcame to achieve her dream, Kelly's not about to let that happen.

Matt Scanlon just wants to be left alone to rebuild his life and his career. After a year of masking the pain of a recent loss with hard partying and fast women, he finally hit rock bottom and was traded to a team he's loathed his entire life—a team with little to no chance at the post-season.

Butting heads is getting Kelly and Matt nowhere but annoyed, and with the team's schedule on the road, they can't avoid close quarters—or their surprising attraction to one another. As the season winds down, Matt finds his growing feelings for Kelly have brought his numbed emotions back to life. But when betrayal shatters their fragile trust, winning it all seems more impossible than ever.
