Suspense
The Lion, the Lamb, the Hunted - Andrew E. Kaufman

Who was behind the murders is easy.

The why's and wherefore's not so much, but were thankfully less twisted than what I had running my head.

I don't understand why his mother kept Patrick drugged though.

Unless she just hated him that much.

Actually, there's not much I fully comprehend about Patricks childhood, mainly why no one noticed anything odd despite his mothers explanations.

There's no romance, but the interaction with the female (whats-her-name  LOL) reporter did not come off as believable given what we know of Patricks childhood.

Not the smoothest flowing book I've ever read, but the story is good.

All My Friends are Super Heroes
All My Friends are Superheroes - Andrew Kaufman

Quirky and one of a kind. How often do you find a book in which the experience depends so heavily on the reader and it's interpretation? A multi interpretable book to a point of transcending the two-dimensional and becoming interactive. Rare and truly engaging; as long as you embrace and ravel in the obscurity of intention.

All My Friends Are Superheroes
All My Friends Are Superheroes - Andrew Kaufman So one of my wife's friends recommended this book to me because she knows I love to read and we both read The Martian, so now, apparently we are book buddies. She likes anything Chick-Lit or Rom-Commie, (people who know me, know those are not my preferred genres), so I had more than a smidge of apprehension about actually reading this one. Honestly, I was intrigued by the cover and liked the title, so decided to give it a shot. Glad I did. It was really a very good story and after an initial "Uh oh, what did I get myself into" it really took off and clicked for me. There was more than enough strange character threads and weirdness keep me entertained and the ending was really "sweet". Very well done.

"Okay, there's this thing you can do, a thing you can do like no other person on this planet. That makes you special, but being special really doesn't mean anything. You still have to get dressed in the morning. Your shoelaces still break. Your lover will still leave you if you don't treat her right."

I loved this book, during his wedding reception Hypno, the ex boyfriend of Toms wife, turns up and makes The Perfectionist believe that Tom is invisible. This story is told during the duration of the flight were Tom is sat trying to find anyway to make her see him, which isn't as easy as you would think. It doesn't matter what people tell her or if he tries to physically touch her, The Perfectionist believes Tom left her on their wedding night.

The narration weaves seamlessly from Tom sat on the flight to both of their pasts, Toms first encounter with a superhero, his relationships, The Perfectionist's relationships, how they met and started dating, and most importantly their first few days, weeks and months spent as newlyweds.

It's quite a feat to produce such a small book but have it filled with so much relative content, it's filled to the rim. There was nothing unnecessary included, this book easily could have introduced far too many heroes for no reason. The content was spot on, the. The edition I own is a collectable edition and includes a chapter filled with extra superheroes separate from the story. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because I wished it was a longer story!
