ARC REVIEW Wrapped in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan

Wrapped in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder, #1)Montgomery Ink: Boulder #1, More Montgomery cousins. Liam is the eldest of the Boulder cousins became a model at a young age, he also knew when to retire from that lifestyle he has since become the famous L.M. Berry an action adventure/sci-fi-ish writer. Arden Brady has been living with Lupus since she was young and since her unpredictable illness may flare up at any time she got into a job that allows her to work from home and from bed if the occasion calls for it, she is a professional researcher for authors and also writes and maintains series "bible" helping them keep track of everything pertaining to their book series. Liam and Arden meet at the hospital, Arden is suffering from a flare up and Liam saved his sister from an accident at a wedding. Despite not looking her best Liam and Arden still flirted and ended up with Arden giving Liam her phone number. Liam finds out something that changes his whole world, he feels like his whole life has been a lie. It was pure happenstance or just plain fate that Liam and Arden ran into each other a couple weeks later and have coffee together turns out they have quite a bit in common, for instance Arden does research for his books.

Arden deals with her attraction to Liam and fears that this relationship will be just like her other one and leave her heart broken she tries to keep herself distant from him, it doesn't help that he's sweet and kind and even her three very overprotective brothers like him. Liam, after finding out the truth, is dealing with an existential crisis. Arden was just supposed to be a distraction to get his mind off his family and his book but the more he becomes attached the harder time he has dealing with it, he can't even figure out what his characters are doing. Liam has to figure things out one at a time before all the pieces come together and if Arden lets her heart open to him and lets go of her fears.

Overall, another lovely, emotional, sexy story from Carrie Ann Ryan. I loved Liam and Arden. Liam and his identity crisis and Arden's battle with her own body and her mind and them falling in love such a good read. AND Arden's brother are getting their own series eventually YAY!

ARC REVIEW Falling With You by Carrie Ann Ryan

Falling With You (Fractured Connections, #3) Fractured Connections #3, Like with the other two books in the series it's told in alternating first person POV, I don't think these books would have been the same if written any other way. Carrie Ann Ryan shows that grief like love isn't always rational and second chances aren't always easy. Sienna and Aiden's story is emotional and so satisfying, two people who were best friends but drifted apart are brought back together by a horrible act, but now that they are there for each other again dealing with past hurts and current attractions.

I love all the relationships in this series, between the Connollys it wasn't perfect and I think that made them more real to me, them being a family again was a work in progress. I loved this aspect of the series the relationship between the boys progressing and getting past their own differences. I love the guest appearance of a past couple that was awesome and very well done. I love the series in its entirety but each book can be read as a stand alone. Overall, such a great read!

4 Falling Stars
Falling With You - Carrie Ann Ryan

Sienna Knight doesn’t realize what she means to Aidan Connolly, but before he can make sure she knows, he has to figure out exactly what that is. She’s been living in the past and trying to find a way to mend the break. Aiden is the reason that I came through it partially whole but he once loved the best friend she lost and she refuses to live in that shadow or even worse be a replacement.

This emotionally gripping romance captures readers by their hearts and refuses to let go. The characters are strong, compelling and easily draw readers into their story of two people broken by the loss of a loved one. Their relationship is one of friends with secret attractions and with everything from their pasts standing between them, it hard finding the emotional courage and strength to reach for more. Readers can feel the chemistry and the emotional angst flowing from the pages as the author brings this coupe to vivid life in a way that makes it easy to connect with the characters and makes it feel as if readers really know Sienna and Aiden.

The plots flows at a steady pace, unveiling secrets as the couple takes the steps to overcome the past and reach for their future, which really builds the suspense and keeps the turmoil as well as the strength and courage of this couple flowing from the pages. Aiden and Sienna tug at the heart strings as readers find themselves glued to the pages of their expressive story.

ARC REVIEW From Breath and Ruin by Carrie Ann Ryan
From Breath and Ruin (Elements of Five, #1)Elements of Five #1, debut YA book Carrie Ann Ryan's newest series might not be for everyone and as someone who doesn't typically read young adult I loved it. It didn't feel like a young adult at times I even forgot that Lyric was just eighteen and as per usual Ryan played with my emotions it seemed like I was reading one of her PNR books just without the sex. There is romance in it and I think I know where she's going to go with it but I always expect the unexpected with Ryan. But the story has grabbed my attention and now I won't be happy until I've read them all.

Lyric is just your average teenager who's good at so many things but nothing she wants to do forever. She stuck trying to figure out what she wants to do for the rest of her life when a classmate and her cute older brother ask Lyric and her friends Braelynn and Emory to go hiking. But when something happens on that hike it sends Lyric's life into a tailspin of events that will forever change her life.

The Maison Realm and the wielders remind me of several things from my childhood, specifically The Dark Crystal, and I loved it, it was like The Last Airbender meets The Dark Crystal and Alice in Wonderland. A once happy kingdom now divided into light and dark and one person with all the combined powers is destined to reunite the kingdom. Lyric is said to be this Spirit Priestess with the combined powers of all the elements. Whether or not Lyric actually believes she is is another matter, for now she just wants to help Rhodes get his sister back.

I loved the characters in this book. Lyric is the main character and narrator so we see first hand how she reacts to everything going on around her; her feelings for Braelynn her best friend, Rhodes her crush, Emory her ex-girlfriend and all the others they meet on their journey. Lyric is very conflicted and is unsure about almost everything she's at a crossroads in her life and throw in the fact that she's some prophesied priestess that will stop a war and fix what's broken just compounds on to her insecurity and her self worth. Everyone believes in her but herself so there is quite a bit of internal struggle going on with Lyric along with fighting off bad guys.

Overall, outstanding book. From the start this book pulled me in and kept me entertained the whole time. Engaging characters and descriptive narrative, I can't wait for more Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to set the hook.

ARC REVIEW Jagged Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan

Jagged Ink (Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs, #3)Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs #3, Another great book from Carrie Ann Ryan. This book was hard to read at points, not because it was bad but because it was so emotionally heart wrenching. I have been through something similar and the part where they actually talk about it was difficult to get through; despite having to stop to wipe away tears I still finished it in one sitting.

Roxie and Carter hit a rough patch in their marriage and the accident at Thea's bakery didn't help any matters. Not knowing how to talk to each other anymore was their downfall. Roxie filed for divorce and Carter moved out. With family and friend not knowing what to do but watch from the sidelines and be there when they need them; which is difficult for Carter because he feels like he's not a Montgomery and they are Roxie's family they should be there for her. Only Roxie cut herself off from her family and has been spending time with Liam, one of the Boulder cousins. They still need to hit rock bottom before they can work their way back out of the hole they dug themselves into. Can they rebuild the relationship or is it too late to try?

Overall, I love this series and this was an emotional rollercoaster. I knew I was in for an ugly cry when I picked this up but I wasn't prepared for how close to home it would hit for me. I'm sad to see this chapter of the Montgomery's to come to an end but I look forward to the Boulder Montgomerys.
