Blog Tour w/Review - Shopping For A CEO's Wife

About SHOPPING FOR A CEO'S WIFE:

The New York Times bestselling romantic comedy series continues...

Snowbound. Sounds so romantic, with visions of cuddling before a roaring fire, hot chocolate spiked with brandy, and a secret elopement.

Wait. What?

My fiancé's father won't stop trying to turn our pending wedding into a three-ring media circus so he can get free publicity for his family's Fortune 500 company. My mother has decided she's done with All Things Wedding and asks her teacup Chihuahua for mother-of-the-bride advice.

They've all gone certifiably mad.

Then the stress from the wedding puts my mother in the hospital, I scream at my future father-in-law in front of a camera crew and the video goes viral, and the romantic wedding that started with Andrew's grand Pride and Prejudice proposal looks less like Jane Austen and more like Dostoyevsky.

So what do you do when you're a fixer and you can't fix something?

You give up on it.

Not on Andrew, silly.

The wedding. Shopping for a CEO's Wife is the 12th book in Julia Kent's New York Times bestselling Shopping series. As Shannon and Declan enjoy their newlywed bliss, Andrew's father wants to exploit Amanda and Andrew's nuptials, much to Amanda's chagrin. Can she learn to stand up to her future father-in-law and fight for what's right? But the real question is: will Spritzy the teacup Chihuahua end up being a flower girl?

Shopping for a CEO's Wife (Shopping for a Billionaire Book 12)Shopping for a CEO's Wife by Julia Kent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book #12, from the amazingly funny Shopping For A Billionaire series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. It will contain spoilers, and you will have greater understanding, should you read the series in order.

Andrew & Amanda have been though enough already. Now, as they plan their wedding the press and extended family are on their backs wanting the wedding their way. Has everyone on earth, including her mother forgotten who is really getting married here?

Amanda has had it. With everyone - literally everyone - wanting a piece or a picture of her, it is getting to be too much. She has the perfect line in the book. "I didn't fall in love with a CEO. I fell in love with a man."

Swoon. This is another of some of the best romance books ever written. I am a firm believer that all lover's of romance should get this series. I laugh, I cry, my breath stops, and my heart starts beating again. I loved every page!

Excerpt Blitz - The Hot Shot

  the hot shot AN

TheHotShot Amazon-2

First we were friends. Then we were roommates. Now I want more…

What can I say about Chess Copper? The woman is capable of bringing me to my knees. I know this about five minutes after getting naked for her.

No one is more surprised than me. The prickly photographer my team hired to shoot our annual charity calendar isn’t my usual type. She’s defense to my offense, a challenge at every turn. But when I’m with her, all the regrets and darkness goes away. She makes life fun.

I want to know Chess, be close to her. Which is a bad idea.

Chess is looking for a relationship. I’ve never given a woman more than one night. But when fate leaves Chess without a home, I step up and offer her mine. We’re roommates now. Friends without benefits. But it’s getting harder to keep our hands off each other. And the longer we live together the more I realize she’s becoming my everything.

Trick is… Now that I’ve made her believe I’m a bad bet, how do I convince her to give this player a true shot at forever?

EXCERPT:

CHESS

Grumbling, I toss on some black lounge pants and my oversized Tulane t-shirt and head to the drugstore.

My head throbs by the time I get there, and my insides are writhing. I rest my hand against my lower stomach and grab a basket before calling James to complain.

I swear,” I tell him as I grab a bottle of painkillers. “It’s like this entire day has been cursed.”

He snickers. “Curse. Get it? Curse?”

I roll my eyes, even though he can’t see me. “Laugh it up. Meanwhile, it feels as if someone is playing Battleship in my uterus.”

Poor Chessie bear. At least we know why you were in such a foul mood.”

A flush washes over my cheeks. “Yeah.” Lie. Lie. Lie. A tub of salted caramel gelato makes its way into the basket.

Tell me you’re getting some gelato,” James says.

I smile. “Just grabbed it.”

Salted caramel?”

You know it.”

I find the feminine products aisle and search for my brand. “I’m going to go home, take a long bath with my gelato, and forget this fucking day.” Forget Finn. “And then I’m going to go on Amazon and buying a freaking year’s supply of tampons so I don’t have to make these kinds of emergency runs anymore.”

A low, deep chuckle rumbles from behind me, and all the tiny hairs lift on my arms.

But you’ll still need your gelato,” a familiar—fuck me, seriously?—voice points out.

My insides swoop even as my cheeks burn.

Who is that?” James asks in my ear.

I slowly turn on one heel. “The plague,” I say, glaring up at Finn Mannus’s smiling face.

From asshat to plague.” Finn scrunches up his brow. “I’m not sure if that’s a step down or a tie.”

Who is that?” James nearly yells now.

I don’t take my eyes off Finn. “I’ll call you back.”

James’s squawks of protest cut off as I hit the end button.

Are you stalking me, Mannus?”

Finn a rests his hands low on his lean hips. “Having a healthy amount of conceit myself, I have to admire yours, but no, buttercup. My buddy Woodson lives a few blocks away. It’s poker night. I’m stocking up on beer.”

It’s only then I notice a twelve pack tucked under his other arm.

And tampons?” I ask, with a pointed look around the aisle we’re standing in.

Not tonight,” he says easily. “Though we used to keep a pack of them back in college. Light flows were perfect for stopping up bloody noses.”

A snort escapes me. “Now there’s a visual.” Somehow, I’ve taken a step closer to him. He’s freshly showered, the golden brown strands of his hair still damp at his temples. And I wonder if he’s just come from the gym or practice. “So back in college you went and bought these tampons?”

Nah,” he says with a cheeky smile. “I’d ask one of the girls hanging around to get me some.”

Of course you did.” My nose wrinkles with annoyance.

Give me a little credit, Chess. I’d buy them now if I had to.”

Hmm…” I eye him, trying not to return his smile. If only because it’s more fun when he teases. “So why are you in this aisle now, if not for potential nosebleed needs?”

That’s easy.” He steps closer, a warm wall of muscle and clean scent. “I heard your voice.”

For a second I just blink. “You recognized my voice?”

His gaze darts over my face as if he’s trying to get a read on why I’m gaping at him. “Not to be…ah…rude, but you’re loud when you talk on the phone.”

Yeah, but… You recognized it.” We’d only just met. It occurs to me that I’d recognized his both times he’d snuck up on me. Then again, his voice is distinctive, flowing like hot honey when he’s relaxed or hammering down like iron to rock when he’s taking command of a situation.

A soft flush of pink tints the tips of his ears. If I wasn’t staring at him, I might have missed it. He shifts his weight. “Was I not supposed to?”

No. Yes.” I shake my head and laugh. “I don’t know.”

He grins then. “You’re cute when you’re flustered.”

I’m not flustered.” I am.

EXCERPT:

His hand caught her, long fingers wrapping around her elbow and causing all sorts of unwelcome sensations as he pulled her back around.

                “What?” she asked.

                “Waiting for my apology.”

“Sure,” she said agreeably. “When hell freezes over.” She lifted her chin, grateful for her four-inch heels so that she could almost, kind of, not quite look him in the eyes. “I’m in charge of this building, Archer, which means I’m in charge of everything that happens in it. I’m also in charge of everyone who works for this building.”

He cocked his head, looking amused again. “You want to be the boss of me, Elle?” he asked softly.

I am the boss of you.”

Now he outright smiled and her breath caught. Damn, stupid, sexy smile. And then there was The Body. Yes, she thought of it in capital letters, it deserved the respect. “If you don’t want to be walking funny tomorrow,” she said, “you’ll stop invading my personal-space bubble.”

Complete bravado and they both knew it. She’d only been at this job for a year and it’d come as a surprise to her that he’d been in the building at all. An unfortunate coincidence. Before that it’d been years since they’d had any contact, but she still knew enough to get that no one got the better of him.

He was quick, light on his feet, and physically strong. But that wasn’t what made him so dangerous to her. No, it was his sharp intelligence, his quick wit, how he was willing to go as dark as he needed to in order to do what he thought was right.

And then there was the biggie—the way he had of making her feel shockingly alive.

He did as she asked and stepped back but not before pausing to make sure they both knew who was in control here, and it most definitely wasn’t her.

No one did intimidation like Archer, and in his line of work he could be in a coma and still intimidate everyone in the room. He had muscles on top of muscles but didn’t look beefed up like a body builder might. Instead his body seemed lean and seriously badass, with caramel skin that strayed from light to golden to mocha latte depending on what the season was, giving him a look of indeterminable origin.

                And sexiness.

It worked for him, allowing him to fit in to just about any situation. Handy on the job, she imagined. But with her he was careful. Distant. And yet she’d seen the way he sometimes looked at her, and on the rare occasion when he’d touched her, like when he guided her through a door with his hand low on her back, he let himself linger. There was always a shocking and baffling yearning beyond both the glances and the touches.

That, or it was all just wishful thinking.

Not that it mattered since he still held back with her. The problem was she yearned too. Yearned for him to see her as a woman, strong and capable enough to stand at his side.

But after what they’d been through, she knew that would never happen. She turned away, annoyed by how her entire body had gone on high alert as always, every inch of her seeming to hum beneath the surface.

She should have just emailed him.

Accidentally on Purpose (Heartbreaker Bay, #3)Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #3, in the Heartbreaker Bay series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding and enjoyment, I recommend reading this great series in order.

Elle & Archer already have a pain filled past, before the fact they work together. If she avoids him, well who can blame a girl? Hardest part about all of it is she wants to see him everyday.

Archer just wants Elle to stay put and let him protect her for once. Can he talk her into letting him wear the pants in this relationship? He just really wants to hold her for like ever.

If you have never had the feels before, this book has brought it - Game On! I loved how the author takes you through their relationship and churns out a love story that is practically epic. So endearing, and the man is completely charming. These characters just make you feel it all.

Blog Tour - Hot For The Fireman

HotforFireman_banner_blogtour

Today we have the blog tour stop for Hot for the Fireman by Gina L. Maxwell. Check out this fantastic new release and grab your copy today!

HotForTheFireman500

About Hot for the Fireman:

Ex-Army Ranger Erik Grady lives for the job. So when his chief at the Boston Fire Department offers him two choices—mandated therapy for supposed PTSD or a permanent desk job at the station, he reluctantly agrees to see a shrink. Only this doctor is unlike anything he expected. Female and curved in all the right places? Check. Hotter than a four-alarm fire? Check. The kind of woman that can heat his blood in and out of bed? Check, check. And oh, yeah, he just happens to have first hand experience...

Of all the men to walk into psychologist Olivia Jones' office, why did it have to be him? Her one-night stand isn't playing by the rules of just. One. Night. She’s had her heart broken in the past, and no way is she going there again. And now he's blackmailing her into three dates? Well, if that's what it takes to make him see a different therapist, fine. She can handle it. So what if the chemistry between them is combustible? She's a professional, damn it. She'll date Mr. I'm Too Sexy For My Bunker Pants. But it won’t end in the fun he expects.

It’s time to see how much heat this fireman can take…

“Unlock this door, gorgeous, or I’m breaking it down.”

Okay, screw payback, she’d waited for him long enough. She reached out, threw the deadbolt, and immediately hopped back when the door swung open like a gale-force wind was behind it. She was dimly aware of it being kicked shut, but most of her brainpower was totally focused on taking in the sight of the hottest thing she’d ever seen: Erik, standing in her neat little apartment, larger than life and fully dressed in his bunker gear.

Ho…ly…shit. She’d imagined him in his ranger kit before, certain it would melt her panties to see him geared up and ready for battle, but she never thought she’d find his turnout gear so damn sexy. He stood there, massive, like a first-responder god, dressed head to toe in bulky black attire striped with bands of reflective yellow. The coat hung open, revealing a tucked-in navy blue BFD T-shirt, and his helmet dangled from the fingertips of one hand.

“Why are you dressed like that?” she rasped through a suddenly dry throat.

“Training took for-fucking-ever.” Setting his helmet on the counter, he pulled his cell from a pocket and held it up before tossing it on the counter. “Totally dead, or I would’ve called. Couldn’t wait. Guys dropped me off.”

One of her favorite things about Erik was how well-spoken he was. As primal as his characteristics might be, he wasn’t a Neanderthal grunting his likes and dislikes in disjointed phrases. But tonight was obviously no ordinary night. Since walking through the door, he hadn’t uttered a single complete sentence, and his whiskey-colored eyes might as well be saying Me, Tarzan. You, Jane for all the civility she saw in them.

“The fuck are you wearing?” he asked, heat flickering in his eyes.

Unable to remember, she glanced down. Oh, right. “An oversize sleep shirt I’ve had for years.” She frowned, rethinking her choice. “Not the sexiest thing, I know.”

He’d said she shouldn’t wear anything she wanted intact, and this thing was a handful of washes away from dissolving into the ether. The white cotton shirt, which hit her at midthigh, was threadbare and transparent enough that the dusky rose color of her nipples showed through without the aid of special lighting, and the neck was so wide it was forever sliding off one shoulder or the other. Underneath, she wore a white lacey thong. She almost hadn’t worn any panties at all, but she couldn’t bring herself to be quite that bold.

“No,” he said, “it’s perfect.” Rolling his shoulders back, he shucked the heavy coat and tossed it over one of the kitchen bar stools, then advanced, ambling toward her…
