Surprise Cover Reveal - F*cking Awkward Holidays

fcking-awk-anth_cover

Surprise Cover Reveal!!!

On October 31, it's about to get AWKWARD again...

25 Authors, Awkward Sex, Epic Cause Holidays conjure up many thoughts- long, chilly nights, snuggled up by the fire, bare feet tucked under the one you love. Some are hallmarks of summer when skin is warmed by more than the sun. There is the after Thanksgiving dinner nightcap, as the smooth, sultry burn of whiskey warms your chest, rendering your limbs heavy or include lazy kisses and wandering hands beneath your best dress on a romantic Valentine's Day date.

But sometimes, Grandma gets boozed up and passes out at the table, your brother gets caught rubbing one out under the fireworks, your kids catch mommy kissing Santa (and not on the lips), your special new toy winds up in the wrong gift bag, a goat steals and wears your sexy new thong and watching the ball drop takes on a whole new meaning. In other words, the holidays can be magical, but sometimes, they're also just f*cking awkward.

#TripleX
#TripleX - Christine Zolendz,Angelisa Stone Freaking hilarious!

#TripleX makes me want to take an epic road trip with my girlfriends. I'd call this the chicklit version of Dead Poets Society. Carpe diem, bitches!

As an author, I especially got a laugh out of the efforts authors go to in order to get a few likes or retweets and authors' sometimes competitive nature. However, any woman will empathize with the loss of youth, the challenges of marriage, and the effort to rediscover oneself in spite of it all.

Read it! You won't be disappointed.

Triple X
#TripleX - Angelisa Stone,Christine Zolendz

* 2 stars *

This is a humorous story about two middle aged women going through a mid-life crisis. They are writers who met on-line and have known each other for years but never actually met in person. One of them decides they should go to Vegas so off they go on a road trip neither will ever forget. They are both over-weight and having marital problems so between that and their writing they have lots in common.

Food seemed to be the most important thing for these women and they were constantly talking about it and where they would eat next. They had a never ending supply of junk food with them, too. They were sad about so much that I just felt sorry for them.

I personally didn't like that the two main characters had the author's names because I kept wondering if this was a true story about them. It made it hard to enjoy it since I wondered if the painful things that happened to the characters actually happened to the authors.

Either way, I would have enjoyed the story more if the characters had different names so I could be sure I was reading fiction.

Beneath the Cape—The Superhero Anthology
Beneath the Cape—The Superhero Anthology... Beneath the Cape—The Superhero Anthology - Angela McPherson,Cheryl McIntyre,Christine Zolendz,D. Nichole King,Laura Thalassa,Lynn Vroman,Magan Vernon,Sunniva Dee I am still reading this, but I just wanted to put up some reviews as I go.

REAPING ANGELS by Laura Thalassa ~
Sometimes I see a picture of an author and I think, "Oh she is cute and looks so sweet and innocent." Then I dive into the book and it hooks me right away, I can't put it down, I have to keep going! Then all of a sudden, BAM! Then I'm like, "HOLY HOTNESS! This author is so naughty!" WOW! This story is the first one in the book, and man is it good! And HOT! And full of excitement! And action! MUST READ!

CAT LOVE by Sunniva Dee ~
Sunniva is one of my favorite authors, but that doesn't make me biased, there is a reason for it. SHE ROCKS! And I already know Sunniva is naughty ;) But she wasn't AS naughty in this one. Aidan and Ulani are trying to figure out what happened to some missing patients from a psychiatric hospital, where HE works and SHE escaped from. They are shocked at what they find out. I was very shocked at what I found at the very end. ;) This is a good one; just have to read it to find out what happens.

GYPSY LOVE by Angela McPherson & Lynn Vroman ~
OMG GYPSYS AHHH!!! I love Gypsys! As a kid my parents used to threaten to sell me to the Gypsys as a joke, but I told them that I thought it would be cool if they did. LOVED this one! Another HOT one! I wish I had a man in my dreams! The price to end the curse is not as it seems. Gypsys talk in riddles and don't spell everything out for you exactly as they will, or need, to happen. They just give you a cryptic message and send you on your way to let it all play itself out. And I did not see THAT coming! Tricky Gypsys! Simply must read this one.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE by Magan Vernon ~ CURRENTLY READING

Fall From Grace
Fall From Grace - Christine Zolendz I knew that this book would be a major waste of time for me so I had to DNF it at 20%. I know that 20% isn't really enough to give up on a book but let me explain. I picked this up thinking that it was a paranormal book. I saw that it was about angels and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Fall From Grace was the wrong genre for me. It was a contemporary romance disguised as paranormal. I was expecting an exciting paranormal plot but instead I got an angel living on earth looking for her "one". That part would have been fine by me but I could tell that the angel storyline was only added to give the story a little something extra. This book was predominately romance, which is totally not my thing. Romance is fine but I need a plot. I kind of felt tricked with the promise of an angel storyline.

Nothing makes me madder than a book being disguised as something it is not.

So, not only was this book not really about the paranormal but the main characters love interest was a major douche. I wouldn't think that a "fallen angel, visiting angel or whatever the crap she was" would fall for a shallow idiot like that. I'm sure he changes and turns into the best person ever but.....
