There were a hundred things she needed to say to him, needed to tell him, needed him to know. There were a thousand words she needed to speak, needed to whisper, needed him to hear.

Not Derek Landy's best turn of phrase, that. Every four words or so are just a repetition of the same idea........

Am I the only one who thinks that by constantly treating her reflection like dirt (gah Valkyrie, stop it already) Valkyrie is basically setting it up to be Darquesse's body? I mean, assuming that Darquesse doesn't manage to take over Valkyrie's body, then there's the reflection just hanging out, being all quiet and vicious and secretive, waiting.

It all just seems especially stupid of them - Skulduggery, too - not to think about Valkyrie's weirdly sentient reflection........

And they got rid of Fletcher now? Wah? I was just starting to like the guy! If they were going to get rid of him, I'd have expected it at any time before now, when I still strongly disliked him - say, a book or two ago.

He probably won't stay gone, though. And I'll probably dislike him again when he comes back.......

(Oh, and Valkyrie, I believe I TOLD YOU NOT TO MENTION YOUR MOTHER TO THAT MUGGER GUY, DIDN'T I???)

I just had this horrible image in my head of them killing Solomon at the end of this book.

Aaaaaand, since the mugger apparently only assaulted one person  - Valkyrie's mom - and Valkyrie specifically told him to stay away from her mother, that guy can now quite easily figure out who she is and inform the police that she snuck into their headquarters to bash his skull in
