Review of "Lord of the Changing Winds (Griffin Mage Trilogy #1)" by Rachel Neumeier
Lord of the Changing Winds - Rachel Neumeier

I loved this book.

It drew me into its world immediately we got to the Griffin's desert.  Not with too much description or infodumping; I just immediately with all my senses seemed to feel I was there.

Review of "Better Homes and Gardens Country Cooking"
Better Homes and Gardens Country Cooking (Better Homes & Gardens Books) - Better Homes and Gardens

Does contain lots of traditional favorites (including tips on basics such as stock, pickling, etc.) such as Chicken and Dumplings Stew, Deep Dish Chicken Pie, Tuna Noodle Bake, ye old jello molds, puddings, potato salads, newburgs, pickled eggs, anddeep dish apple pie. No shopping trips to special grocery stores. Nice, hardbound edition with color photos, 92 pages plus index.

One drawback: no nutrition information (unless I just managed to overlook).

With the male vs. female blurb on back of book, I was hesitant to read this book in case it was all macho-man and too-stupid-wimpy-female style.

Surprise! A great read with real 3-dimensional characters, a plot that holds together as romance and as science fiction (i.e., believable once the rules of the society/world are set up), believable villains and never dragged in any section.

Review of "Orion Arm (The Rampart Worlds, #2)" by Julian May
Orion Arm: The Rampart Worlds: Book 2 - Julian May

Moving review from amazon now that my kindle account is banned from posting after commenting on author review circles.  Review Text:

This sequel to Perseus Spur still rolls along non-stop. The characters and action are great! I don't have much to add to the other descriptions or reviews except the "mystery" of who was the arch-villain/traitor (despite being solved in the book) wasn't very well fleshed out (minimal clues). Presumably Ms. May was going for the twist/shock ending when the enemy was revealed.

Can't wait for #3!
