Harem by Colin Falconer
Harem - Colin Falconer

I don't know much about this time period, or the Ottoman empire, but this book certainly pulled me in from the beginning!

This is the story of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his harem, specifically about 1 of his slave girls from his harem, (Hurrem Sultan), and how she rose to have so much power. I'm sure no one knows exactly what she was like in real life, but in this book she was vile! Just a really vindictive and mean person, but I think that's why I couldn't stop reading this book...because I just had to know what this woman was going to do next!

There was another side story going on the book that was just as interesting, at least to me, because it involved the chief eunuch in the harem, and that one was a bit sad.

I hadn't read a Falconer book in a long time...since his Cleopatra book many years ago, (which I also enjoyed). But I have a few of them sitting in my kindle and I am definitely going to be moving them up the queue.

Recommended for historical fiction fans.

Great Paranormal
Night of the Berserkers: A Reverse Harem... Night of the Berserkers: A Reverse Harem Romance - Lee Savino

Night Of The Berserkers by Lee Savino is a fairly quick paranormal romance, a great choice for those with limited reading time.  This is a reverse harem story though, so it may not be for everyone.   Ms. Savino has once again delivered a well-written book.  Yseult has been sent back in time to learn how the Corpse King was first entombed.  Tristan, Ivar,

Lars and Magnus are berserker soldiers of the Corpse King.  Their story is packed with drama, suspense, action and sex.  Thanks to Ms. Savino for the epilogue.  I enjoyed reading Night Of The Berserkers and look forward to my next Lee Savino book.  Night Of The Berserkers is part of the Berserker  Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

BLOG TOUR, REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY - Dark Wish (Starlight Gods #1) by Yumoyori Wilson
Dark Wish - Yumoyori Wilson
Dark Wish is the first book in the Starlight Gods series, and we start with Makoto. She is a young child and is being taken back to a home she can't remember, by a person she trusts instinctively, but also can't remember. What happens to her next is the stuff of nightmares, but she adjusts to the constant battles and torture the best way she can. When she is rescued many years later, she doesn't believe it is real, and deals with it by hiding under a blanket.

This is a well-written story that clearly shows why Mako is the way she is, and you sympathise with her. Her little foibles become something to smile about, and make her unique. Her attraction to her Knights is slow-burning, apart from Ryder who she knows from before she was kidnapped, even if she can't remember all about him.

Dark Wish is well paced, slowing down for important bits, but picking up again when action calls for it. The Knights all mesh well together, whilst still retaining their individual characteristics. The story itself is intriguing and gripping, keeping you turning the pages to find out more. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It does end on a low note, almost cliff-hangery, but it is worth it. Trust me! Looking forward to continuing this series, and highly recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

The Twelve Alphas of Christmas: A Reverse Harem MPreg Shifter Holiday Romance
The Twelve Alphas of Christmas: A Revers... The Twelve Alphas of Christmas: A Reverse Harem MPreg Shifter Holiday Romance - Lorelei M. Hart,Coyote Starr OK... I liked this story well enough, it is sorta like a gay wolf version of the TV show "The Bachelor". The who will he choose aspect of it was pretty obvious from page one, as pretty much everyone but Darin knew how things were going to end up from the beginning. I liked that the authors kept the story going beyond the choosing point and took it to a HEA ending. Though I will say the idea of 12 gay men each in a one-one relationship with one guy, with no sex between the 12 of them seems a bit farfetched knowing most gay men. But then again we are talking about wolf-shifters and an male omega that can get pregs; so reality went out the window on page one! LOL Loved the whole twelve dates of Christmas one for each beta idea. It was a lot of fun!

REVIEW
Wow what a story. This is the second book in this fascinating series and oh my gosh so good.
Darcy, Darcy, Oh Darcy why can't you just leave well enough alone?
The guys are head over heels that is obvious but things are going to spiral even further out of control.

Darcy finally gets to meet the leader? Wow
And they have her Aunt too?

I can't say much more as I don't want to give anything away all I can say is grab this book. I would highly suggest you read book one first.
