The most intelligent princess of them all!
The Paper Bag Princess - Robert Munsch,Michael Martchenko

A funny book with a princess and a lesson that the boys and the girls in your classroom will love! What begins with what seems to be a very snobby princess ends with a lesson on self esteem and knowing your worth. Also, this princess refuses to give up and instead chooses to use her brain to outsmart the dragon in a great cat and mouse style game. What a great book to remind your students how big and mighty their brains are and how you don’t have to be the biggest one in the room or have the most stuff, but if you have knowledge, it’s powerful. I’d love to use this in my classroom one day as a lesson to teach retelling a story on storyboards. Having the class split up into groups to decorate a poster board with a different part of the story and have them lined up at the end to retell the story in their own words.

Reading progress update: I've read 20 out of 343 pages.
Hold Me Closer, Necromancer - Lish McBride

I accidentally read the summary for the second book in the serious and now I have a bad feeling about the character I like so far in this.

Chasing Butterflies review.
Chasing Butterflies (Little Life Lessons) - Harry Toews

I have gotten this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review. :)

First of all, thank you Harry Toews for gifting me this book!

Now my review:

I really loved this book, it was simple, but very magical. I really loved the story and the morale/lesson we learned. I am sure kids will love it!
The main characters were cute and I liked that they (unlike in some children books) act like children. They get told to not do something, and like children do, they just do it.

The pictures/illustrations they are really nice and I absolutely love the colours, so vibrant and shiny.

In overall, a magical book, which is fun to read, but will also learn kids a lesson in a fun way.

And of course butterflies. <3

I would recommend this to all parents who need a new, interesting book to read to their children, or for children who want to try out reading a book, even if you can't read that well, the images will help a lot, they tell the story too.

The Ghost in the Aisle Seat: A YA Parano... The Ghost in the Aisle Seat: A YA Paranormal Story - Rusty Fischer

It wasn't that scary, but it was quite awesome. Haley wasn't really the smartest, and needed the money. She let Chester (a guy from the schoolnewspaper, who writes a column about haunted sightings) in a movie theater, where her old teacher comes every year, ever since his wife died in an accident.

Is the ghost real? Or is she not? And is she the only one there?

I felt it was a bit too short, I wish we also had seen Chester's reactions to the ghost of his mother (which explains why he is so fixated on ghosts and such).

But it was a nice story. :)

Speechless - Hannah Harrington

This was a great book. I loved the idea, a girl who can't stop blurting out everything that she sees or hears takes a vow of silence after something horrible happens. That she kinda of caused, though she didn't know what the consequences were.

Chelsea was a good character, though I didn't really like her in the beginning, I found her untrustworthy, a puppet, blabbermouth. But after all that happened, and her decision of taking a vow of silence, I started to like her. Especially since she keeps to her vow, she never says anything, no matter the situation, no matter how she bullied.

I really disliked Kristen and her "friends". That kind of girl, ugh, disgusting. Always hurting people, not caring about destroying people if they are in the way of your perfect little li(f)e. I disliked how she turned out. Making Chelsea the scapegoat for everything, turning her role into something gold and pure, like it wasn't her fault at all.

I also disliked the gay hate, and that people got beaten up because they are gay. Gays are people to, you know? They just love someone from the same sex, instead of another.

I am so glad Chelsea found new friends (and a boyfriend), friends who like her for who she is, respect her and help her. I loved it.
And awwww at the romance. So happy.

I loved, loved her plan to take revenge on Lowell and Derek. It was awesome and also not dirty.

I loved the ending. I am so happy to see Chelsea learned a lesson, and became a better, wiser person.

In overall, the book is awesome, I would recommend it to everyone.
