Valentine on Sale Today for 99¢
Valentine - Michelle Hughes

You think you know what love is, even if you've fought against feeling that emotion your entire life. Valentine was my life altering moment. Have you ever wanted something desperately, but knew to have it would destroy everything you were? Lust is a powerful motivator. His passions were dark, and they called to a primitive part of my soul I didn’t know I possessed. He didn’t make love, instead he wanted a woman willing to be claimed, owned, giving her heart, mind, and soul. At least that’s how I saw him. The truth was I didn’t know him at all. I watched him play at a local BDSM club and everything I thought I knew about life changed irrevocably.

Who I was, what he was, none of it mattered. Our eyes met, and it was like the world stopped spinning and for that one moment we were suspended in time. I couldn’t catch my breath and he couldn’t look away. The feeling was so powerful that when my feet would move again, I ran. You think you know what love is. What if everything you thought you knew was a lie? Surrender is a powerful word. Escaping the reality of who you are and giving in to the fantasy? That’s even more terrifying. What would you do?

“Valentine is a full-length standalone novel. No cheating, alpha hero, virgin heroine, billionaire, with elements of romantic suspense. This new romance by Kindle Scout Winner, Michelle Hughes, is a seduction of the mind and will take you on one wild ride.”

Valentine is available now on Kindle Unlimited
Valentine - Michelle Hughes

Step into the world of Mr. Valentine for a mental game of seduction, surrender, and a plot twist that will leave you breathless.  Pick it up on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2HOYUSd

Dmitri Valentine is gorgeous, intimidating, cocky and to top it all off, a billionaire. Throw into the equation that he’s dominant, high-handed and believes a woman should fall at his feet to worship his greatness? You’ve got an egomaniac that takes control freak to the next level.

Grace Parker is nobody’s plaything. She’s never been interested in sex and he’s the last man that should wake up her sexual appetite. When fate throws them together in a twisted game of life or death, all the rules are challenged. It’s a battle of wills between deviant pleasures and self-denial. Or is it?

*This is a stand-alone romance with a twisted HEA. 70,000 words.*

Review: Cowboy Sanctuary (The Dixon Ranch #1) by Michelle Hughes
Cowboy Sanctuary - Michelle Hughes,Jimmy Thomas,Shoutlines Design

I have to admit that when I started reading the first few pages I thought “where is this going?” but when that ended and I realized what was going on, I laughed so hard picturing the guy’s face I just knew I was in for a treat. The story is narrated by both Dana and Brock’s first person POV and although not my favorite it actually worked pretty well here.

Dana and Brock met in the least possible imaginable way. As the twin sister of Brock’s ex-lover, Dana never imagined she’d be the one to tell Brock the child she’s holding in her arms is his but when her sister’s ex-husband is back in their lives she’s got no where to go but the only place she thought safe place for her nephew.
This was my first read from this author. It was a quick-paced, funny, and enjoyable read. Dana was so innocent and naïve that she tended to sound silly at times but not enough to hate her character. Besides, I think it was part of her being so young and still trying to find her place in the world. If anything, it was Brock that I have some problems with. Every five minutes he would say something as silly as “my woman,” “my girl,” “a man needs to protect his woman.” Mine, mine, mine. One thing is to be protective and caring but this man’s attitude was borderline proprietorial. He was also a bit retrograde when it came to Dana’s mind. Some of their arguments were because he didn’t get that she had a mind of her own and he thought she didn’t need to worry because he was there to save the day.
Not my kind of guy, honestly. Then again when he was not behaving like a complete Neanderthal (like when he got jealous because she was dancing with his brothers) he could be really sweet and loving (like when they made love and he prepared her a bath to relieve sore muscles) and could pass for a gentleman. My issue is that I don’t think men need to act like jerks to be manly men. They can be protective and powerful yet sweet and loving. In the end I think he finally got the idea or at I think he at least kind of made a promise that he’d try to be better so we’ll have to see in future books about any changes.

The rest of the family Dixon, specially mamma Mary, added the perfect balance of drama and fun to the story. Jer-Ber, Brock’s baby was well-depicted and the fact that he cried at the most crucial moments actually made me chuckle, as in “yep, that’s a baby for you.”

All in all, it was a nice story with interesting characters and I will definitely continue reading the series and more from this author.

*** I received this book from the author at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***

5 Nights: Sinful Delights Boxed Set
5 Nights: Sinful Delights Boxed Set - Michelle Hughes I think this is my first written one star review. Based on my personal rating system, I really can't give it a full star. The story concepts had promise. When the reader gets to the steamy sex scenes, the author knows how to turn up the heat. That wasn't the problem. Not the story type or genre. Here were the three problems I couldn't get past in order to recommend:

1) Needs an editor. There would be sentences where the sentence starts with a quote (") for person speaking and then no end quote. I am by no means the grammar police. But this was a consistent error that drove me nuts. There are other paragraphs where two characters are speaking but then the one character calls them by another character who isn't present. Example: When speaking to Cayce, Dylan calls her Cait (her twin not present).

2) Every single female lead character had some sort of sexual history that was bad, and had fear overcoming it. I don't mind this storyline. But all five books, I felt like the female lead was just renamed. There was nothing unique that set each one of them really apart for me.

3) Alternating POV every other paragraph. Again, I am okay with alternating POVs. At chapter breaks or break within the chapter. This was the problem that I had that made me struggle with completing the read. Example: First paragraph, it's Angela POV, next it's Nolan's, then Rachel the BFF, then next one we are in the Lead Singers head. I felt like I was at a tennis match and had no idea where to follow the ball. The reading became exhausting. Thus why it took me so long to finish.

I really don't like to write negative reviews and this one I almost just didn't because I couldn't be positive. But, if someone follows my shelves, I wanted to make sure they know how I felt about the book. There are others who may love this series (it's a steal for 833 pages at 99 cents on Amazon), but I can't in good conscience recommend.

BLURB:  Two sexy twin brothers that always share.  Everything. Including women!

Liam walked into my world and turned it upside down with his lickable abs, bedroom eyes, and alpha male persona.  He was sin personified and I wanted him to damn my soul.  Everything about him drew me in, daring me to step outside my comfort zone and forget all the rules I'd made to keep my heart safe.  He was rude, vulgar, and promised everything a good girl dreams about doing with a bad boy.

As if his temptation wasn't enough, his twin brother was thrown into the mix.  Luke was Liam's polar opposite in every way, except for his panty-melting looks.  Charming, respectful, and a man you wouldn't mind taking home to meet the parents. There couldn't be a more perfect man.  Put the two of them together and it was a combination no woman couldn't resist.

I've never considered myself a prude, even though I was holding out for marriage.  How could I walk away from a night that fantasies were made of?  Liam told me that great sex was never boring.  It was dirty, passionate and always a little rude. All I had to do was say yes.  Two sexy twin brothers promising one hot night of unadulterated sex.

Would it be Rude to turn it down?

EXCERPT:

“Hello beautiful.  I wasn’t sure what you liked so I made a smorgasbord of things.”

Luke’s voice was warm an inviting and I couldn’t help but compare it with Liam’s seductive gravel filled tone.  I found it flattering that he’d went through so much trouble.

“I’m not picky.”  I managed a smile even though my lips were trembling. “It smells delicious.”

“Wish we could say the same.  Luke and I are very particular in our tastes.  Wouldn’t you agree brother?”  The fact that he was looking me over blatantly again made me wonder if were talking about food.

“Very picky.  In fact I’d say our tastes are very singular.  Why don’t we eat before we discuss that?” Again, Liam’s smile was charming but still I felt I was missing something very important.

Food was the last thing on my mind as I took in the beauty of the two men before me.  For the most part they were identical, but there were some tale-tell signs that set them apart.  Like the inflection in their voices, or the way Liam was more guttural while Luke seemed more refined.  Small differences but very easily noticeable if you were paying attention.

Liam set plates of food out on the breakfast bar, so I assumed we were eating casually.  I was glad we weren’t being formal but when he held out the chair sitting me in the middle I noticed how close we’d be sitting together.  Maybe a long table separating us was a good idea.  Once we’d all taken our seat, I felt the heat radiating off them.  It was instant arousal and my body wasn’t used to feeling that way. They both piled food onto my plate from each side, and I wasn’t sure I could eat a bite of it.

Stuffed mushrooms, broiled lobster, steamed shrimp, cheese scones, and asparagus.  My plate was growing fuller by the moment and I held my hand up with a small laugh.  “Um, guys?  That’s more than I normally eat in a week.  At least my nervousness dissipated a little with their antics.

“Are you kidding?  This is a light dinner for us.”  Liam picked up my fork and speared an asparagus stalk, holding it close to my mouth.  It felt strange to be fed, but what the heck.  I took a small bite of the succulent greenery and sighed.  It was cooked to perfection and flavored just right.  Having him watch me chew was a little disconcerting but I let him continue feeding me until the stalk was gone.  I nearly fainted when he wiped my lips clean with his finger.

“My turn.” I turned toward Luke and a fork full of lobster waited and I had to admit there was something very erotic about allowing a man to take care of you this way.

The sensual dinner continued until I knew that if I took another bite I wouldn’t be able to walk.  Then I got to watch in pleasure as they consumed their food with a gusto that astonished me.  Both of them were so fit that I couldn’t imagine them eating so much but I guess all that muscle had to have some energy.

“Thank you for dinner.  It was delicious.”  Speaking softly I felt their eyes on me before I raised my gaze to meet one then the other.

“Our pleasure.”  Luke had a pained expression on his face and I was confused.  He’d seemed fine during dinner, but now I was afraid something he’d eaten disagreed with him.  “Excuse me for a moment.”

“Is he okay?” I watched him walk away before turning toward Liam.

“He’s got a bad case of blue balls if I had to guess, sweetheart.  Watching you eat has to be one of the sexiest things I’ve ever seen.”  Liam wet his lips with his tongue and the action was so sensual I felt it in my abdomen.  Luke wanted me!  The thought that either of these men were remotely interested was flattering.  I had no idea what to say.
