We Can Be Mended
We Can Be Mended - Veronica Roth

I had missed the announcement of this final epilogue to the Divergent series completely, but don't worry, you won't miss a thing.

It's five years since the events in Allegiant (which was a ridiculous book and I'm still being kind), and I didn't have a strong desire to go back, but the completist in me wanted to have read the entire series, so here I was, reading We Can Be Mended.

And they get mended over the course of this 27 page story. I've seen a lot of people hate this story with a passion, but I'm more indifferent. I only got the slightest of information on how the world changed and what is going on now. Instead there's the rather forced coming together of two of the surviving characters from the book.

I would only recommend it for big fans of the series, and even then prepare to dislike it.

a nice 3 star read
Mended with Gold - Lee Welch Mended with Gold - Lee Welch
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. After witnessing a colleague step on a land mine, and dealing with the aftermath of that, Alex runs to the other side of the world, to to get away from it all and to get back to his photography. Meeting Joe, a comic book artist, shook him more than he thought. But Joe is standoffish. Can Alex break down Joe's walls, as well as his own?? The reviews I find hardest to write are the 3 stars ones. The ones for books that I neither loved, nor hated. That it was just a nice easy read, that didn't blow me away at all. So this, being one of those, is gonna be short and sweet. It's well written but only Alex has his say, in the third person. Yes of COURSE I wanted to hear from Joe, I always want more I know I do, but I think I might have enjoyed this one more, had Joe been given a voice too. Its not overly explicit, there is no break up/make up. There is talk of drug use, but only in the context of looking to score, it's not described in any detail. It's a NICE book! It's only short, some 94 pages, took me just under an hour. A perfect lunch break, bath tub, hangover cure book. Will I read more by this author? Possibly. First I've read of their work. I'll give them another chance. 3 stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

Elizabeth~

My heart had just been splintered by the man I thought I was in love with. Betrayed by one mislead by the other. My twisted, triangle of a nightmare was over, it should be a walk in the park now… right?

That's what I thought when the clock struck twelve. I was in the arms of the man I knew I should be with and I was ready for a new year, a new me, and a new love. But this wasn't the fairy tale I thought it was going to be. I'd stepped into a completely new field and it wasn't full of daisies. It was a field of landmines, full of secrets, lies, and more heart break. Is any of this worth saving? Was he worth saving? I loved him, but did he really ever love me, or just the thought of me? Would we just self-destruct and crumble, would he let me in to see the good along with the bad, or would I fall back into old habits.

Simon~

I love her. That's never going to stop and I don't want it to. I'll make her see…

M.E. Gordon, was born and raised in Maryland, where she still resides with her husband. She is a stay at home mom to four children, three boys and one very, spoiled, little girl, all under the age of five. Growing up M.E.G. was an avid journal writer. She wrote her first romance novel at the age of 14, and it was pretty bad, but over the years and through all the kids she honed her craft. When M.E.G. doesn't have her mom hat on, you can find her reading, working on her next story or watching guilty pleasure television.

Mended
Mended - Olivia Black Mended - Olivia Black description

I usually love this series, but this one was a HUGE miss. Usually, when a shifter finds his mate he is ALL about the mate. He isn't even interested in sex with anyone else, so why we needed to be treated to a totally UNNECESSARY sex scene between Max and a OM AFTER he had already meet Tommy (his mate) is beyond me. It goes against the whole "mate" thing from every other book. Not to mention he then the very next night brings Tommy his MATE back to the bed he JUST had sex in less than 12 hours ago.

Really disappointed in this one...

A Mended Man
A Mended Man - Jaime Reese As much as I love this series and really liked Aidan and Jessie and their individual stories, I struggled with this book. I found it frustrating and actually walked away for a bit before picking it back up again. I appreciate where the author was going with it and that the men went through a lot individually. As much as they are perfect for each other and as attached as they were, it still took so long for Aidan to open up I felt like I was reading a lot of the same thing over and over again.

I'm in the minority with this one, so don't just go by my opinion as it resonated much better with so many readers.
