Odd and the Frost Giants - Neil Gaiman

For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-Cycle

A fantastic story, perfectly crafted.

This was a great short book to read after having read Gaiman's Norse Mythology. This story nicely incorporates some of the myths, characteristics, and other qualities present in Norse Mythology. This is essentially Norse Mythology for young readers, nicely strung throughout an entirely new adventure. I absolutely loved it.

Wonderful description. Simple, yet entertaining story.

I listened to the audiobook of this (the 5th or 6th book narrated by Gaiman that I've listened to). I really enjoy listening to Gaiman's narration. He does a wonderful job reading his stories and it is always a joy to listen to them.

Great read. One of my favorites by Gaiman.

Book 21/100: Odd and the Frost Giants
Odd and the Frost Giants - Neil Gaiman,Mark Buckingham

This is one of those reviews I've been putting off because I don't have much intelligent to say about this book. It's a fun, warm, and charming read -- a rather sweet take on the Norse gods and one young boy's interactions with them.

Odd and the Frost Giants - Neil Gaiman,Chris Riddell

Review to come, probably to tie in with the release of the book in October.

Reading progress update: I've read 97 out of 123 pages.
Odd and the Frost Giants - Neil Gaiman,Chris Riddell

When, in the years that followed, the Gods told this tale, late at night, in their great hall, they always hesitated at this point, because in a moment Odd will reach into his jerkin, and pull out something carved of wood, and none of them was certain what it was.

Some of the Gods claimed that it was a wooden key, and some said it was a wooden heart. There was a school of thought that maintained that what Odd had presented the giant was a realistic carving of Thor's hammer, and that the Giant had been unable to tell the real from the false, and had fled, in terror.

They were wrong.
It was none of these things.
