The state of Delaware Passes Law Which Makes eBooks and Other Digital Content Inheritable

Good news for those of us who buy ebooks! We can now pass them onto our children, as long as we live in the state of Delaware. And maybe other states (and countries?) will follow. From the Digital Reader:

Do you know that clause in the TOS for the Kindle Store and many other digital content stores which says that the content is licensed to you and is nontransferable?

The state of Delaware just negated that clause (in part) . . .

quote 2014-02-25 00:22
I would like to instead encourage gamers to wear their entitlement on their sleeves. To continue to call out companies who put their short term love of cash above, not only consumers, but the long term health of the game industry as a whole. Because you’re the fucking customer, and your job is to look out for yourself in just the same way.

People will tell you “oh the games business is a business therefore companies can do what they want to make money.”

Yeah? Well that applies to customers as well. They have a right to look out for their wants just as much as a corporation. So you indeed could go ahead and shut the fuck up as well, with this belief that people should stop whining.

Stop whining about their whining. How about that?

- jim sterling, Gamer Entitlement (jimquisition) for The Escapist.

I think this really covers a lot of complaints about customers complaints on a lot of subjects in many venues of entertainment.
