Surrender to You: An At Your Service Novel - Shawntelle Madison

This is the second book in the At Your Service series by Shawntelle Madison, and this is Carlie's story. Carlie's whole life she has been running away from things, mostly Tomas Goodfellow, the sweet guy she fell in love with when she was 17. When Tomas abruptly left New York to go back to his homeland after his father passed away, it left Carlie feeling abandoned. Now the only time she sees Tomas is when they hook up for the occasional fling all over the world. Carlie has made the decision to try and find her birth parents and the latest information she has says that they are in Boston. Carlie decides to leave London and go back to Boston and stay until she can find them. She also knows that Tomas is in Boston and decides to hook up with him. What Carlie doesn't know is that Tomas longs to have a real relationship with her, but every time he tries, Carlie does her usual and runs away. I really liked the characters of Carlie and Tomas. They still had a lot of their innocence in them from when they first met, but are also changed from things that have happened in their lives. It was obvious these two still love each other. The story line of Carlie finding her parents was pretty emotional. You just couldn't help wanting her to find her happiness that she has been running from most of her life. Overall, I really enjoyed this story.

Surrender to You: An At Your Service Novel
Surrender to You: An At Your Service Novel - Shawntelle Madison Where's the rest of the story? I mean this is book 2 and I have not read the previous one yet so maybe that's why it feels like something was missing. I received an ARC of Surrender To You in exchange for an honest review. I expected the lusty sensuality that Ms. Madison delivered on wholeheartedly but I did not expect that to be all that was to the story. Carlie and Tomas obviously had chemistry but the story lacked substance. This just didn't work for me.

Surrender to You: An At Your Service Novel - Shawntelle Madison

I just can't anymore with this book. I gave it the good college try though. The heroine Carlie, there's just something about her that I can't stand. I don't know if it's because every other sentence out of her mouth is a reminder that she has celiac disease. She acts like it's a death sentence. Also, her demeanor is very off putting, I hate how she treats Tomas & she's a selfish friend.
Tomas, the "hero" had potential to be this larger than life alpha, billionaire, hot & sexy guy. I so wanted him to be. Alpha billionaire's are my go to's. So, I was very disappointed in him.
The story telling & writing were severely lacking. It felt like it was all cut & pasted together. It was just all over the place & at some parts I had to stop & reread a few parts over because it wouldn't make sense. Anyways I didn't like this story but, that doesn't mean someone else will.

Bound to You - Shawntelle Madison

Sophie Ashton works as a concierge in Boston for the rich and famous and it's a long way from the foster care life that she grew up in.  It's been two years since her ex-boyfriend, Sato, broke her heart and she has vowed to never start something up with another client.  Well in walks Xavier Quinn....a billionaire who owns his own company and wants Sophie to devote the next month to only working for him while he is in Boston.  A very large check convinces Sophie to do this.  As Xavier and Sophie spend more time together, it is very obvious that they both have strong ties to each other.  Sophie is hesitant to start anything after what happened with Sato, but she eventually gives in.

I loved the push and pull these two went through.  Xavier is used to getting everything he wants and he decided he wanted Sophie.  I really enjoyed both of these characters and their back stories.  It was enjoyable learning about the Japanese culture and how they are so different with the way they do things.  I really enjoyed Sophie's friends.  They seemed like a really colorful bunch.  I liked the part with Xavier's family but I wish there would have been more about them in the story.  It seemed like there was a lot of missing back story.

Overall this was an enjoyable story with very likeable characters and I really loved their happy ending!
