Sweet Siren: Those Notorious Americans, Book 3
Sweet Siren: Those Notorious Americans, Book 3 - Cerise DeLand The anatomy of an unforgettable story is to delight readers. Deland does so by imagineering women of strength, men of courage and hours of romance. Sweet Siren gives a second chance to a heartbroken father and a determined widow. Olivia is a firecracker. Outspoken, opinionated and obnoxious but always true to herself. Killian is everything she despises in a man. Rude, ruthless and frustratingly tempting. So why won't her head, listen to heart? Deland can can enchant a heart with her brand of wit. From her adorable characters, to her humorous dialogue and heartwarming storylines, she raises the bar higher with every sexy tale she writes.

Kill Your Darlings - Yellow Team (Round 2)
Daughter of the Siren Queen - Tricia Levenseller

I'm going to play a Weapon card-Mauled By a Demon Hound (Read a book that has an animal in story) for the lovely Pirate Queen, Alosa, who is half human/half siren and for her mother, the Siren Queen. Alosa, is deadly on land as a pirate and even deadlier once she enters the ocean and turns into a beautiful Siren, creature of the sea. Her mother the Siren Queen is full siren and spends her life completely at sea, leading her fellow siren family and luring unsuspecting pirates to their watery death with her enchanting voice.

Queens of the Sea
Daughter of the Siren Queen - Tricia Levenseller

I loved this series! It was so much fun to read! It's the first time I've read a book starring Sirens so that was all new and exciting for me. I love books with pirates and ships anyways so adding the Siren spin on it along with a whole, very likeable, crew of female pirates was icing on the cake.

Hustle of the Gunman (Galaxia Pirates #4) by A.M. Halford
Hustle of the Gunman [Galaxia Pirates 4] (Siren Publishing Classic ManLove) - A.M. Halford
Hustle of the Gunman is the fourth book in the Galaxia Pirates series. In this instalment, we have the exact opposite of insta-love. Instead, Darrel has been in love with Toby for over eight years, but Toby wants nothing to do with him. Toby finally succeeds in pushing him away, only to have a change of heart and realise Darrel is who he wants after all. There are reasons for him pushing Darrel away, but nothing that is explained in too much detail. In fact, it is just skimmed over, which is a shame when it has impacted his life to such an extent. It is during a job that goes wrong that Toby realises exactly how much Darrel means to him, and is determined to show him, just so long as Darrel survives.
There were parts of this book that I loved - the longing from afar between both Toby and Darrel, and Toby's mastery of knives, for example. Unfortunately for me, it was never explained why he mastered them. What drew his interest to knives and swords, in this space age of laser guns etc? And although his upbringing was rough, why did it impact his life for so long?
This was well written, don't get me wrong. The pacing was smooth, and it was action-packed. There are moments of steam, as well as tenderness. The characters are familiar but I'm still learning new things about them with each book. I would recommend this book as I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. However, it just didn't 'push my buttons' like some of the other stories have.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

My Favorite Song ~The Silver Siren~
My Favorite Song ~The Silver Siren~ - Charis Messier,Ako Tenma,Kairi Aragusuku

I decided to check out this book because it was a shojo light novel which is something I don't usually see here in the US.

When I first opened up the book, I was surprised to see there were 29 chapters. I expected each of those chapters to be long. However, they were short.

The story plays out like a typical fish out of water story which was expected since this book is the first volume in this series. Despite the predictability of the plot in this volume, I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to read future volumes.
