Review: Touchdown (Game Day #1)
Touchdown - T.S. McKinney

DNF at 34%.

That's about 10% longer than I wanted to read since I initially wanted to DNF this stupid book at 25%. But I kept at it to see if I'd change my mind. I didn't.

This book was a total miss for me.

I stopped when I got to the point where Alexander has gotten drunk to deal with the fact that Lincoln fucked with his head from the scene they did (see further down). Alexander's friend is out of town, so he calls Lincoln to save Alexander from himself, and from getting hurt, since he's gone to a gay (bdsm?) club drunk off his ass.

"How about you just pick him up and take him back to his apartment. I'll be back in town tomorrow and I can check on him. You've fucked with him enough. Just let him go." Let him go. Again. I don't think so. "I'm sorry, Tank. I can't do that. I want Alexander and I can't remember a time when I didn't get what I wanted. I'll take care of him. Again, thank you for calling me." I hung up before the other man could argue. I completely understood why he felt the way he did. I just didn't care. I wanted Alexander.

Possessive much?? Who the heck does this guy think he is??

The story went downhill from me with the first scene at the club. That is before 15% by the way. Lincoln "persuades" (read: pressure) Alexander to join him on stage in front of all the club crowd at Lincoln's BDSM club. Alexander isn't one to back down from a challenge, so he goes up on the stage even though he really doesn't want to, but he doesn't want to appear as a "pussy"... Lincoln continues to persuade Alexander to take of his clothes, get cuffed to a St. Andrew's cross, blind folded, and then given a spanking by a crop no less. And this is still in front of an audience.

How the heck can you put a person through a full on BDSM scene with someone you haven't even met before, let alone talked to, or discussed limits, scenes, safewords! The first topic of conversation would very much be "Are you into BDSM in the first place?" Following up with "Do you like getting naked in front of people? Are you into exhibitionism? Do you want to be cuffed? To a St. Andrew's cross? Do you like to be blindfolded? In front of an audience? Do you like getting spanked? By a crop? In front of an audience?"

I don't think you can get any further from SSC - Safe, Sane and Consensual that I feel is an absolute necessity dealing with BDSM themes. Lincoln totally pressured Alexander into doing this scene by pure group pressure. Also the way Lincoln intensely possessed over Alexander in almost a creepy way. I didn't like it at all.

My driver is waiting. I'll take you downstairs to meet him," I countered. (...) "There's no way I'm going to let you know where I live, asshole. Call me a cab," he demanded again. "Why would I care where you live, Alexander? You're straight. Remember?" Of course I wanted to know where he lived, but he didn't need to know just how badly I wanted the information.

*splutters* What the... what??

Ugh, I didn't find any side of either of the main characters personalities that I liked, or the secondary characters for that matter. Their locker room way they talked and behaved was just off putting to say the least.

You haven't lived until you've been one of the two cocks snuggled inside the tight ass of your lover.

~thought by Lincoln~

Then he was gone, leaving me sporting a boner of epic proportions. Tomorrow night, I'm going straigh to Tabitha's (Alexander's girlfriend. Yes, he's got a girlfriend!) apartment and fucking her until I can't even remember Lincoln's name.

No. Just, no.

Alexander AKA Alex & Lincoln meet when Alex follows a friend to Lincoln's club.  He is shocked and turned on at what he sees there.  When he gets to meet the owner, his life changes.

Lincoln has waited to have a relationship like this.  Can he count on feelings to be real?  They keep treating it as just a fling.  Feelings are there and are fanning the flames.

Surprised this story had so much emotion to it, I found myself riveted to these pages.  Both men were really not looking to connect at all, but in each other they found so much more.  Sweet and sexy, this story makes you want more.  I give this book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Touchdown - T.S. McKinney description

O-M-G was this book AMAZEBALLS...

Alexander Bryant is filthy rich, a straight A student, QB of the football team and dating Miss Alabama herself. Life couldn't be more perfect. That is if Alex wasn't living a lie..

description
"I was hoping you were going to say you were just kidding. That there really was no such thing as you trying to stuff your entire arm up my ass but, no, you had to act like it is going to happen in the near future."
description

Dragged out to club Den for a night of fun by his teamamtes, Alex catches the eye of owner and Dom Lincoln Montgomery. Linc is hot, sexy and commanding. When he persuades Alex to get up on stage feelings Alex has never felt before for another man start making themselves known.

description

Will Alex get over his fear and out from under the thumb of his family? Will Linc open his heart knowing Alex may forever remain in the closet? Can a weary Dom and a sassy submissive QB have an HEA? Well I guess you'll have to read to find out!

description
"Give me your safe word.” “Safe word. Sure, I’ve got one of those. How about stop? Fucking stop? That fucking hurts? I can come up with dozens of these."
description

OMG I LOVED this book. From page one I KNEW this was going to be an awesome read. It has a fabulous cast of secondary characters. I ADORED Alex's teammates and I CANNOT wait to read Tank's book. It was well written and the plot flowed nicely. I was never bored or felt the need to skim.

description

Linc and Alex were both great characters. I loved their funny banter and that Linc, although a Dom was not overly uptight and knew when to tease and laugh. I loved how sassy Alex was and there were some laugh out loud moments when he was being shown all the "tools of the trade" by Linc. I was glad it didn't take a huge portion of the book for Alex to come to terms with his "GFY" stance. He's confused for awhile (totally understandably) but ultimately is the one to make the decision to give him and Linc a chance.

description
"I want to forget again.” I turned to look at him. “Make me forget who I am again.” “No, I’m going to make you remember who you are, Alexander."
description

Surprisingly, there was also a lot of feels in this one. Mostly towards the end after the BIG drama took place. I'll admit, a tear or two might have been shed on my part...don't judge. One thing stopped this from being a total 5 star read, and that was the ending. Sigh, authors, authors, authors....please don't short change us readers with non existent epilogues or sub par ones. This one ended really abruptly. So much so I was left thinking I was missing a chapter or something. Now since we get a look at the next book, I suspect we'll hear more about Alex and Linc in that one, still it was a bit of a bummer...

Overall though, this was one enjoyable read...

BR with Teri and Susan

Yeah, I'll just be honest and say I picked this book mainly because of it's cover!!

*don't judge me*

And I was pleasantly surprised.

Lincoln

After Lincoln and Alex's first performance in the club, Alex wasn't able to get Lincoln out of his head. Lincoln made him feel for the first time. All he was used to was to perform as the Bryant grandson everyone expected him to be. Be the best QB, go to law school and then follow his family's footsteps. What about his dreams??

Normally I'm not that fond of BDSM books but these parts worked out quite nicely. Yes it was hardcore but the psysical bonding between them was so clear. Lincoln was a very caring dom and I couldn't wait for Alex to submit to him.

"I want to forget again."

"Make me forget who I am again."

"No, I'm going to make you remember who you are, Alexander."

I was sweating for Alex though when Lincoln was beginning to mention all his toys he was going to use on him.

I enjoyed the banter between Lincoln and Alex. Surely Alex wasn't the most obvious sub. He was sassy and just what Lincoln needed and wanted.

I'm in so much fucking trouble. I'm afraid to look down at my lower half but, like the urge to look at Medusa even when you know it was going to shit you up, my eyes are drawn straight down.

Every part that a man tries to keep private around other men is right there.

Pucker right in plain view and available for easy access? - Check

Balls dangling? -  Double check.

Yeah, this book was fun!!! I laughed my ass off. Also I loved the secondary characters, especially Tank. I was so thrilled to read the little snippit of his book.

Speedo boy, guppy and Tank....

It's going to be awesome!!!

Review: Touchdown (Game Day #1)
Touchdown - T.S. McKinney

BR with girls Momo and Els

Now this was quite a nice surprise. Neither of us knew anything about this book and the blurb is really vague. This book was fun! And kinky. Lot of BDSM, but also lots of laughs.

Alex is trying to live up to everyone’s expectations. He is supposed to play college football, like his father and grandfather. And he is supposed to go to Harvard after he graduates to become a lawyer in the family firm.

But even though Alex tries to be like his family wants him to be, his spirit cannot be suppressed. He loves to paint, so he does it in secret, in his apartment.

When he gets roped into going to this BDSM club with his three best friends, he has no idea what to expect. He thinks that if he likes it, he will try to play the Dom with some girl. But he didn’t count on Lincoln.

Lincoln is the owner of the club and when he sees Alex, he knows he wants Alex on his knees for him. Not gay? He doesn’t care, he knows he can teach that brat a lesson…

Now, this could have been so angsty, with Alex hiding from himself, and Lincoln trying to have him. But it really wasn’t. Lincoln is trying to be this big bad Dom, and he was, in the bedroom. But out of it he was a sweet guy, who really wanted to help Alex feel happy (don’t worry, he is all ALPHA, but he shows his feelings too).

And Alex was hilarious. I loved him. He was such a sassy brat. His inner monologues were so funny.

Could one get carpal tunnel from jacking off? Coach would kill me. I switched hands.

And I just loved that this was not your regular D/s relationship. These guys were equal in every way. Alex called Lincoln just as much asshole as he called him Sir.

There was one part in this book that made me go all, no no no no please, don’t go there author. But I was happy to say ‘the thing’ didn’t happen.

(view spoiler)There was almost a third party involved, but neither Lincoln nor Alex could go through with it.

(spoiler show)

There is some angst (yes, there is a break-up), but it wasn’t dragged out and they made up pretty fast.

This was a great BDSM story with lots of feelings, some angst, and lots of light, funny moments.

And can I say I LOOOOOVED Alex's friends. Can't wait for the rest of the books.
