INSIDE the Wall (The War in the Wall Series Book 1)
INSIDE the Wall (The War in the Wall Series Book 1) - A. Lotus,Valentina Cano Letha and Nathan were best friends as were their mothers until the day two people attacked their city and took the children captive and then killed their parents right in front of their very own eyes. They did this to gain control of them. They were separated into two groups and were then made enemies. All the little kids were trained to be killers and sent on missions to kill. If they did not do what they were told by their leader then they would die as well as everyone on their team.

Letha and Nathan became enemies because of these two people not because of the way they felt about each other. They were trained and brain washed into believing what they were told not to mention threatened. The thing is it wasn’t a threat at all it was a promise which all always came true. Letha didn’t want to kill Nathan but did he want to kill her? Would he kill her if given the opportunity? Would Letha kill Nathan if or when it the opportunity is put in her face literally? Or does Letha have plans of her own? How will Letha save herself, her friends and everyone else? Can she save everyone including herself?

No one cares about anyone or anything anymore well except killing someone and surviving. Will the world ever care again? Will they start caring about each other like they did before? Can they ever go back to what they once had?

I loved reading INSIDE the Wall not that I liked seeing people get killed or seeing kids watch their parents die or seeing kids being brain washed and trained to kill but the world that the author created was amazing. INSIDE the Wall will grab you from the first page and won’t let go until you have flipped that last page and leaves you wanting to know more. Wanting to more as to what happens to Letha and the rest of her friends and what it is like for them in their new world. I can’t wait for the next book
OUTSIDE the Wall.

4.5 moons - "My Control" by Lisa Renee Jones
My Control - Lisa Renee Jones

I am really loving these novellas with Mark Compton. Not only because I’m getting a chance to read his POV, but also finding out what he is going through after finding out what happened to Rebecca. First off, if you haven’t read the Inside Out Series yet, just skip this review and immediately start reading the series from the beginning. =) Otherwise, you will be miss out on what is going on with Master Compton.

In My Control, Lisa Renee Jones gives us not only Mark’s POV, but she also gives us Crystal’s POV. Crystal is witnessing firsthand a man who usually has things under control, but now is starting to fall apart and crumble. He’s losing himself and all he wants is the truth and revenge. He needs someone like Crystal to help him get through it all. She’s wanting Mark to focus on his mother, but he’s trying to resolve his current situation with Rebecca. He won’t budge at all. Things are going to happen in this short novella that are going to make Crystal see Mark as his real self and she’s not someone he can easily make submissive.

All in all, this short novella was a very enjoyable, quick read. It has it’s heated and dramatic scenes. (which is something Lisa does every well with in stories) Lisa also leaves you wanting more, which has me counting down to November to find out what is going to happen next with Mark and Crystal.

I give this book 4.5 full moons and recommend it to contemporary erotic romance readers out there.

I highly recommend reading this series in order. It would be more beneficial to readers if they do.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from InkSlinger PR for the blog tour in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 moons - "My Hunger" by Lisa Renee Jones
My Hunger - Lisa Renee Jones

I’m so happy that Lisa Renee Jones decided to continue the Inside Out Series because believe me after finding out what happened in the 3rd book I wanted more.  I especially wanted to learn more about Mark.  If you haven’t read the Inside Out series I highly recommend you do and PLEASE read in order.  You will enjoy it more in order.

My Hunger is in Mark’s POV and does the man have trouble in his life.  I want to hug him because of everything he is dealing with.  Poor Mark! If you’ve read His Secrets, you’ll understand what is going on in My Hunger.

Mark is still grieving over what happened to Rebecca and still dealing with the detectives about Ava.  Oh…how I want to go after Ava with her latest tactics in this book.  Geez!  That woman seriously needs to go over herself.

Mark is dealing not only with what is going in California, but in New York with his mother being in the hospital.  He can’t be in two places at once, but he does have some help.  In My Hunger, we have some very heated scenes with Mark and Crystal.  I love how Lisa Renee Jones can step each sexual scene between her characters with something different and very STEAMY!  Mark is dealing with someone he never expected to.

Let’s just say Mark is going to have a hard time using Dom ways with Crystal.  Mark is being challenged and he has no clue what to do.

I won’t give too much away because this is a very short novella.  Lisa Renee Jones gives us just enough to want more from Mark and Crystal.  She also gives us a very dramatic plot continuing throughout the series.  ***I’m friggin’ loving this series!  =)

I give this short novella 4.5 moons, and anxiously wait to read No in Between (which is the next full-length book).

I received a complimentary copy of the book for the blog tour (from the Author via InkSlinger PR) in exchange for an honest review.

Library Check-outs Galore!!!
Storm Glass - Maria V. Snyder
Sea Glass - Maria V. Snyder
Spy Glass - Maria V. Snyder
Inside Out - Maria V. Snyder
Outside In - Maria V. Snyder

I love the library!  Doesn't everyone, though?

And despite how much I love holding a book in my hand, or simply visiting out local libraries just to browse, I also love the convenience of having a decently large selection of library books in e-book format which is slowly increasing its size regularly.

It's pretty awesome for me since I work third shift and sometimes can't work my way around those darned businesses with daytime hours.  Of course, our local libraries don't close until 8PM on weekdays, but sometimes there are other things that need to be done first and so it's a pretty tight squeeze to run errands and then make time for leisurely library browsing.

Or I'm just making up excuses and am sometimes just too lazy to leave the house -- that happens too.

Nonetheless, these selections just became available through my local library's e-book site, so I'm off to read them.  And to think, just three hours ago when I woke up I was wondering what I would read next, having myself a massive frowny-faced headache about not knowing what to read next.  Yes, those moments happen too.

Also, tomorrow, I'll actually physically visiting the library with my best friend who wants to pick up our next Mini Book Club selection now that she's finally finished reading The Book Thief.

Anyway, I believe that after finishing this pile of reads, I will have read every book Maria V. Snyder has written so far (minus some of the side stories involved in the Study series -- I'll get to those some other time).  Somehow, this woman's books have managed to wriggle themselves onto my radar and into my heart.  They're written fairly averagely at best, but the world and the characters have some kind of charm to them that I love.

Sometimes, that's all I need.

Anyway... off to my suddenly busy reading schedule!!!
