Medieval Mundane
Beast: Great Bloodlines Converge - Kathryn Le Veque

Mostly a story about how a medieval knight who was tasked with watching over Joan of Arc befriending her, taking her heart from the pyre, and trying to secretly bury it in Winchester, per her request.

A forced marriage along the way, a boat load of characters, and some clandestine wheeling and dealing between French knights and English knights.

The romance is a small portion of this with a very real feeling 1400s feel, the author knows her time and place.

There's a story here, just not one I found too entertaining; medieval mundane.

Featuring: The Forbidden Highlands..'The Maiden of Moray' .by Author Victoria Vane

My Thoughts...

This is a beautiful medieval Scotland story that is portrait in 'The Maiden Of Moray.' The beautiful
details that are presented in the story is so well done giving you the feeling this you are there in the midst of it all. The story features Alexander has been chosen as a tutor for the Domnall. Since Alexander is now getting to see the world before taking his vows what will happen when see sees Lady Sybilla? What does she have in mind for him since she has never been kissed? Will Alexander began to question whether taking his vows would be the best for him especially when 'secrets that have been long hidden from him' began to come out. Will all of this alter what is out there for him? Be ready for some very complex characters with some backstories that will keep the reader interested in what will come next. Well, to find out how this story will come out I guess the reader will have to pick up the next series to see what will happen between Sybilla and Alexander.

Along with "The Maiden of Moray" the reader will get quite a collection of a total eight short entertaining romantic novellas all dealing with 'Forbidden Love.' Each of the stories are well written with 'their unique style to capture the reader's heart' and will definitely hold ones attention to the very end and will have you wanting to get the next story.

Queen of Lost Stars
Queen of Lost Stars: Dragonblade/House of St. Hever - Kathryn Le Veque

3.5 stars.... so, Queen of Lost Stars was a good read. I mainly read it for a theme that the author used isn't always found in historical romances (hinted in the blurb). I wanted to check it out to see how it worked here. TBH I had no problems with it, but if you're squeamish and find this "not ok", then I won't recommend this book to you. I can only tell you that the reasons behind it seemed valid and there was nothing titillating or taboo about how the whole relationship between Madelayne and Kaspian was portrayed. It was a love story, that simple. It doesn't even have that many sex scenes so I won't even categorize this story under erotica.

There were some OTT moments, especially in the end but I largely enjoyed it. The title of the story has a significance which is explained as you read it. Recommended if you're looking for something slightly predictable but a good medieval romance read.

My first book by Kathryn Le Veque and it won't be my last. I mean to check out this whole Dragonblade/St. Haver family series to know more about Kaspian's family and ancestors.

PS: did I mention I thought the cover was really nice too? :D

Queen of Lost Stars: Dragonblade/House of St. Hever - Kathryn Le Veque Queen of Lost Stars: Dragonblade/House of St. Hever by Kathryn Le Veque is about the story of Madelayne Gray d'Ebreux and Sir Kaspian St. Hever.

Madelayne was married and her husband was best friend and fellow warrior of Kaspian. Madelayne was not in love with her husband but he was a really good man and she had liked him very much. Madelayne has been having issue with pregancy and was worried about loosing this baby as she had her last one that she miscarried. But her husband was to be back before she gave birth.
Her husband and Kaspian went off to a war/fight.

Kaspian came back hurt with a life threatening injury near/to his stomach. Madelayne husband was killed and just before finding that out she had lost their baby. Now a 'Dr' is telling her that she needs to help Kaspian by feeding him and keeping him alive.

Kaspian has always been drawn to Madelayne but would never act on it since she was his best friends wife. But now that he is waking up for his injury and finding out what Madelayne has been doing to keep him alive...he is more drawn to her and decided to move forward with his feelings.

Can Kaspian keep Madelayne? Will their feelings for each other grow to the love that they both want?
