Fascinating!
Stevie Nicks: Visions, Dreams & Rumors - Zoë Howe

This is a re-release of a book from a few years ago. I received it from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
I have always been enthralled, "bewitched", and fascinated by Stevie Nicks. From the first time I listened to Fleetwood Mac in the mid-seventies until today. That voice. That music. And, later, when I would see concert clips of them on The Midnight Special and other shows, the pure enchantment of watching Stevie perform. And, later, to actually seeing them perform in concert in person. It would just fill me with a sense of wonder.
And the rumors. Of the drug use. Of the drama. Of the in-fighting. What to believe?
Well, it's pretty much all laid bare in this book. I found that I just could not put it down. And it left me, at age 57, still feeling the same way about Stevie Nicks as I did when I was a teenager. Fascinating!

Wing Girl
Wing Girl: HarperImpulse RomCom - Nic Tatano

Wing Girl: [wing-gurl] noun:

1. A young, single woman frequenting liquor-serving establishments who attracts then later repels eligible men that are eventually picked up by her friends.
2. The essential accessory for dating in Manhattan.

For years guys have cruised bars using the "wing man" as a divide and conquer weapon designed to liberate a gorgeous woman from her not-so-beautiful friend.

Meet Belinda Carson, Wing Girl.

She's a kick-ass, take-no-prisoners investigative reporter fighting for truth, justice and higher ratings. But while her fame draws in the hotties, it’s unfortunate that you can’t buy a new personality at Bloomingdales!

Because up close and personal these unsuspecting suitors get fried by a snarky attitude that's sharp enough to slice a stale bagel…which leaves her grateful friends to swoop in for the delectable leftovers!

Only enough is enough – isn’t it time for Belinda to stop taking one for the team and land her own Mr Right?

This was a really great fun read. I loved it.

Belinda is a bit of a hard arse. She has this massive wall up and being a reporter is instantly accusatory when she meets someone. The thing is deep down she's a big softie and her friends know that. She just needs to let a guy in. Let him see the softer side of her not the snarky person she is for her job.

So the girls, Roxanne, Aerial and Serena, decide its time she had a makeover. It's bloddy brilliant. The girls are so good to her not only do they make over her appearance they show her how to charm a guy so that the minute she opens her mouth they don't runaway.

Roxanne asks her cousin Vincent to be the first test subject for Belinda and boy do they get off on the wrong foot. He is such a lovely man and Belinda is pretty horrible to him.

There's this little pastry shop called Nick's and it sounds amazing. I really want one of those in my life.

I loved the twist in this book and I have to say I didn't see it coming.

I really enjoyed this book and I will absolutely be reading more of Nic's books.

What I'm Currently Listening To

pI put up a post kind of like this one the second day I was on Booklikes and really enjoyed writing it so I thought I'd do another one.

***************************************

1.

Two of my all time favorite albums by one of my all time favorite bands. Rumours is my personal favorite, like everyone else, but the second eponymous album has two of my favorite songs, Landslide and Rhiannon.

2.

One of the most interesting things in music in my opinion is how so many artists in Great Britain who are extremely successful, never can make the jump across the pond and become successful in the U.S.

Emeli Sande is an excellent example of this.

In Europe this album was a smash hit when it came out in 2012, and was the United Kingdom's bestselling album that year. But only one of the songs even charted well in the U.S., and that song was "Next To Me" which is a wonderful and soulful foot-stomper.

You can listen to it here.

*****************************

3.

I love this album and all the songs on it, especially the title track. I was obsessed with The White Stripes and his solo career thus far has been awesome. I can't wait for more. Oh and by the way, has anyone heard the album he produced for Loretta Lynn, Van Lear Rose? It's very...interesting.

*******************************************************

4.

I'm not a gigantic Bowie fan by any means, and this isn't my favorite album by him (my favorite being Low) but it is still a mesmerizing record by a forgotten musician. Ahh, just so good.

*****************************

5.

Hands down one of the greatest albums ever.

*******************************

6.

My favorite album ever by my favorite artist ever. My favorite track is Night Of The Swallow which you can listen to here. This is a dense, inaccessible album, but once you get it, you get it.

****************************************

So there you go guys, I'd love to hear about what you guys are listening to right now too. :)

Now three years have passed, and Kim wants more, but Blake is still hesitant, he´s after all too old for her. Or is he?
Smutty fluff, stripping Santas and holiday cheer in a great combo.

Review
The erotic sex scenes heat up the pages and the storyline that threads them together is a very easy read. At only 31000 words this is a great quick Christmas read.

The story of Kim and Nick is uncomplicated and based around Nick being badly hurt by a bitter divorce and hence, doesn't allow himself his heart to trust easily again. Plus as Kim is now his employee he has his ethics and keeps telling himself he can't have sex, or a relationship with her.

Kim is a no nonsense girl who knows her own mind and enjoys life, and all the adventures in it. She's hooked on Nick and has been waiting patiently for Nick to realise they could have fun together again. Which is a slight contradiction to how she comes across when first introduced to her. She knows her own mind and what she wants, and yet, she waits 3 years for Nick to realise they should be together again.

Even with gaps in the reasoning of character motivation I found it really wasn't needed in this read, it is just a hot, erotic Christmas read.
