October Roundup

Thanks to Halloween Bingo, I upped my reading game and got a lot in. I'm also a bit exhausted, lol. Time to leave the horror show behind and move on to some holiday themed reads :) There's another game on BookLikes and I'm going to try and participate in it as much as I can. The 16 Tasks of the Festive Season and the Rules. October was also my Start a New Series month and while some series might keep me from reading further on, others have me searching for the rest in the series. (Those selection books will be denoted with ***book cover***) November is back to Random Generator Month where I let the good ole' RNG decide which book off my GRs tbr list gets picked. The thrill, the excitement, the anticipation! I lead an exciting life I tell you. Hope you all had great reading months and can't wait to hear about your winners and losers.

Anyway, I nice variety pack of ratings, no 4 stars boo but 3 out of the five highest rated were ARCs, pleasantly surprising. 8 were from my new series selections (Yeah for clearing up some book room!). Can't wait to see what RNG has in store for me this month :)

What were your highs and lows from the month?

September Roundup

Woooeeee, what a busy September! I must have gotten the arc bug because I accepted a good amount that had me busting my butt to stay ahead of the game. Add those in with my themed month books, trying to catch up on new releases, and Halloween Bingo and I've been reading my tail feather off. I didn't get as many September Singles (Those selection books will be denoted with ***book cover***) read as I would have liked because of all this but alas, those book boxes go back into the closet and out come the October Start a New Series boxes. Can't wait to start a series that will take me years to complete or send me on a binge reading extravaganza!

21 books read this month with 6 being from my themed month pile. One of my 4 star picks, Truly by Mary Balogh, was a themed selection and a shining beacon of why I have themed months. It was a great book and one that would have gotten lost in the mix of the hundreds of other books on my tbr. I may read less new releases now but getting a book like Truly makes it all worth it. Oh, and reading this line "Go to hell, Joe Jordan," she whispered. "And don't expect me to do the dishes!"

What were your highs and lows of the month?

August, errr, JULY Read Roundup

Summer is still here and I am still here for it! It has been a steady 80 degs and I actually have some color to my whitewalker skin (speaking of which, was anyone else like dude, Bran, No? Who says that?!). I greatly enjoyed my recommendations month and once again a hearty thank-you to Quirky OmegaShannon BurkeAnneLover of Romance; Belindaand Becca for their recs. Those selection books will be denoted with ***book cover***. I love how books I may not necessarily pick out for myself can appear on this list and expand my reading. August is Kindle Freebie month and I love how wild card these picks can be. I'm not always judicious about downloading freebies :)

13 books in all, not a bad month. I'm loving how varied my ratings were and there were only two books I didn't end up writing a review or post comments about! I'm counting this as one of my most successful themed months; variety and words, woo-hoo! Also, can't forget I got my first full 5 star read of the month, Hate to Want You by Alisha Rai. LOVED. Hoping August feels even half as great as this reading month did.

How many books did you all get to read this month and did you enjoy your reading month as much as I did?

May Reading Roundup

It's finally warming up in my parts and I am loving the sunshine :)  I'm one of those people who always gets a bad sunburn in the beginning of summer because I would hug the sun if I could when it finally appears and can't imagine it would betray me by burning me to a crisp. May was my Random Number Generator month and as usual, I had fun seeing what it chose for me. There were some winners but also some major missteps towards the end; you live by the RNG, you die by the RNG. Those selection books will be denoted with ***book cover***. June is my Start a New Series month. I originally started this to make myself start series I was hearing so much about but was too intimidated to start because of how many books there was already. Now I just grab out of a box/off my Kindle any book #1 in a series.

17 books in all with 8 being my selection of the month picks. Looking back, I read an even range of great, good, and awful. The highlight of the month was definitely The Wicked Cousin by Stella Riley. I feel so out of the loop since this was the first book I've ever read by her. Can't wait to start some new series for June and hope everyone has a great reading month!

April Read Roundup

Whew! It feels like April just flew right on by. I am so ready for some summer weather, I had snow floating in the air yesterday, BOOOOOOO. I know some actually had accumulation but I still want to complain. April was my Singles month (actually read some not in series, lol) and I'm super pleased with some on the hidden gems I discovered from this. Those selection books will be denoted with ***book cover***. I kind of want to keep blindly reaching into my book boxes but I must move on to another sub-genre of my tbr (I know all you book lovers get having sub-genres to your tbr :). I'm sure I don't need to tell you all because I'm sure you've been on pins and needles waiting for this month to come up, but May is my Random Number Generator month. How this differs from blindly plunking books out of boxes is I RNG from my Want-to-Read list on GRs. The thrill of what could be picked! If I don't already have the book or can't find it at my library, I will buy it, if I feel the price works for me. Anyway, I feel I had a good reading month and can't wait to see what awaits me in May :)

Fifteen books read and 3.5 stars my highest rating, I thought I had a bit better reading month than that but I think ending on a good note and the pleasantly surprising random book box reads delighted me more than simple high ratings.

How many books did you all get to read this month, any favorites?
