One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was bury my wife.

The second hardest thing would be watching my twelve-year-old daughter fall to her knees as they lowered her mother into the ground to rest.

A heart-wrenching vision that will forever be etched in my mind.

Claire was my best friend—she had been since we were barely old enough to talk. I always knew, one day, I would marry her. I think I may have even told her that a few times while we were growing up.

Never did I think I would lose her so suddenly.

I knew at that moment…

Our life would never be the same again…

Excerpt:

“Come on, Bailey, why don’t you let me get you home? You’re gonna feel like shit in the morning, sweetheart.” Jackson stood up and took a step toward her, holding out his hand.

“Oh please, Jack, you need to just chill out and take a Viagra. I’m fine, and I’m not ready to leave.”

Everyone froze, staring at Bailey intently. Had she truly meant to say that, or was that a drunk slipup?

Jackson leaned in and placed one hand on each arm of her chair, then lowered himself until his face was only inches from hers. “I can reassure you, baby, I can go all night long, and I don’t need a little blue pill to make that possible.”

She tilted her head back and looked up at him with a puzzled expression.

He smiled and licked his lower lip, and the way he looked at Bailey, showing sure signs of lust, was causing me to feel a little overheated. Jackson’s sexual energy seemed to flow off him in waves. He never tried to hide it, and he sure as hell didn’t care who was around when he decided to lay it on even thicker.

His lips were so close to hers that it looked as if he was going to kiss her. Instead, he murmured, “When you’re not so drunk, I’ll show you just how long I can go. I’m pretty damn sure I can outlast you, sweetheart.”

Bailey turned her head in my direction, suddenly looking a little more sober than she had three minutes ago. Our gazes locked, and her eyes widened just a little. “I meant to say Valium,” she whispered in horror.

Interview:

Today, we welcome C.A. Harms to Musings and Ramblings. Let's all give a big Geeky welcome!

Let's start with some writer specific questions before moving into the fun stuff. That way everyone can really get to know the person behind the writer. We will finish things off with a round of Think Fast. Ready for the interrogation to begin?

Writing Specific

Is your writing style more plotter or pantser?
More of a Plotter. I plan it all out in my mind, the beginning, middle and end. Then I jump in and begin to create the in between. In the end I have the story I want.

When is your favorite time/place to write? Do you write structured or patchworked?
I am a night owl. When the house is quiet, all the kids are in bed and the hubby is satisfied ;) I turn on the music grab a glass of wine and get lost in my characters. Generally I operate on a timeline of sorts. Scene ideas in order and then those are always leading in to more and more….and more.

How do you deal with Writer's Block?
SPOTIFY or a Movie Marathon.

What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Spending time with my kids, or reading someone else’s work.

How did you choose the genres you write in?
I am a romantic at heart so it seems fitting.

Fun Stuff

What was the last movie/concert/show that you saw?
The last Show at the theater was VACATION….Oh my god met me just say it has been a while since I have laughed that hard. Loved it. Last movie at home was Insurgent---Another love. And last Concert, um what are those? Just teasing but it has been too long since I went to one of those.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Invisible, I would love to just sit back and be able to see/hear what those do when they think no one is around. Um and yes I do understand I may see things I don’t want to see too. lol

What was the name of the last book you read?
Find Me, by Laurelin Paige

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Fake people, just be real, honestly if someone doesn’t like you when you are being your own true self it is their loss. But if you are being fake and it backfires in your face, you only have yourself to blame.

What would we find in your refrigerator right now?
Lots of fruit and WINE! A girl has her priorities.

Think Fast

Elvis or Sinatra? Elvis
AM or PM? PM
Mountains or Sea? Mountains
Meat or Veggies? Veggies
Italian or Chinese? Italian
Summer or Winter? Summer
Coffee or Tea? Coffee
Cake or Pie? Pie
Car or Truck? Truck
Dead Tree or Electronic? Electronic

Thanks for coming by and spending some time with us. Any final words of wisdom to pass along?

Stay true to yourself and in the end we are all successful.

Oh Lori Foster,

What a great first novel in a new series!

Honey crashes her car through a fence in the middle of nowhere. This is witnessed by our hero, Sawyer. Sawyer being a doctor rescues and is instantly attracted to Honey.

I have to interject the summary real quick and say this:

Honey's name is:
image

That out of the way now, back to the story...

Honey has a concussion & is in a big hurry to leave. While she's recuperating, she meets all then men that live in this house (4 brothers and Sawyer's son). They all discover that Honey is in danger from some very unsavory characters.

The characters are engaging and original. However, Honey is annoying to no end, but you get used to her. All the men in the story each have their own personality. I can't read to read their individual stories to see who they end up with.

This was definitely chick-lit. But fun chick-lit at that. It was a turn your brain off type of story, with a nice HEA.
