Good Story and Good Characters
Lachlan (Vampires in America #13) - D.B. Reynolds

Lethal and charismatic, vampire Lachlan McRae woke on his first night to death and devastation—his clan slaughtered, his fortress destroyed. One hundred and fifty years later, driven to avenge the murder of everyone he loved, he’s ready to hunt down and kill the one vampire who was behind it all—Erskine Ross, the Vampire Lord of Scotland.

This was a pretty good story. I really liked both Julia and Lachlan. Characters like Julia’s can tend to be too emotionless, but I thought the author did a good job with her character. The only thing was that I hadn’t realized it was book 13 in a series. It didn’t make a difference with the story, but I like to start at the beginning of a series because of cross-referencing and characters popping up in other books. I recommend.

Release Day Review! Vampires in America: The Vignettes, Vol. 2 (Vampires in America) by D.B. Reynolds
Vampires in America: The Vignettes Vol. 2 - D.B. Reynolds

These are the stories in between the books, the slices of life that happen as the vampires of North America defend their lives, uncover secrets, and sometimes, simply take a moment to romance the women they love.

As always, be forewarned, there is sex in these stories. But Reynolds’s readers wouldn’t have it any other way!

As with The Vignettes, Volume 1, Volume 2 gives readers a delightful, fun and super steamy look into all the fantastic characters of the Vampires in America series that readers just can’t get enough of, or at least I sure can’t.

The individual shorts may be really short scenes but they pack on heck of a punch in the romance and passion department for each of the couples, they are hot and steamy as well as sweet and provide a lot of insight to our characters personalities and what goes in their lives.

And in this volume, D.B. Reynolds provides some extras that she previously published with various blogs such as interviews which made me happy as I missed them before.

As stated above, I can’t get enough of this series and the sexy vampires that inhabit this brilliant world, so I love the extras that the author provides but of course I prefer the full stories so I am waiting impatiently for Quinn to make his appearance and to find out what happens in Ireland.

Release Day Review! Relentless (Vampires in America 11.5) by D. B. Reynolds
Relentless: A Cyn and Raphael Novella (Vampires in America 11.5) - D. B. Reynolds

TREACHERY . . . Something the powerful Vampire Lord Raphael has seen far too much of lately.

RAGE . . . An emotion that, left unchecked, can burn like the fires of hell.

REVENGE . . . A dish that philosophers claim is best served cold.

It’s been months since the powerful French vampire Mathilde used Raphael’s arrogance against him and nearly succeeded in taking his life. His fury has grown stronger with every day since, fed by new bloody incursions onto North American soil by the Europeans, while vampire politicking has forced him to wait. But no longer. Someone has attacked his home, killing vampires, threatening Cyn. They’ve taken it one step too far, and Raphael’s tired of waiting. His enemies are about to discover that revenge can taste damn good when it’s hot, too.

Smokin’ Hot! Cyn & Raphael is once again heating up the pages while shaking up the vampire population. I can never get enough of Cyn & Raphael, these characters easily pull readers into their lives and get you hooked because not only is there never a dull moment, but readers get some red hot sex scenes that have me melting into a puddle as I read them.  The action scenes are just as intense and thrilling as the sex scenes are hot which keeps readers glued to every page.

I love how the author keeps giving readers these shorter novellas in between the main books of the series, not only because it allows me to keep in touch with Cyn & Raphael but it always ties things up nice and neat, connecting things that you might not have connected before. My only complaint is I really hate putting the books down and having to wait for the next one, which I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for, Quinn needs to hurry up on his take-over of Ireland, so I can get to reading his book.

Relentless is # 11.5 in the Vampires in America Series

Rajmund by D.B. Reynolds $1.99
Rajmund: Vampires In America (Volume 3) by D.B. Reynolds (2014-01-08) - D.B. Reynolds

Buffalo, New York—Thundering waterfalls, great sports teams . . . and a treacherous vampire lord who is slowly losing his mind.

New York City vampire Rajmund Gregor is the undisputed master of The Big Apple. He bows to no one but his Sire, the Vampire Lord Krystof, who has ruled the Northeast for hundreds of years. But when Krystof summons Rajmund to his headquarters in Buffalo, Raj finds his master slowly descending into madness and his territory crumbling around him.

Raj is the only one of Krystof's children strong enough to seize power, but he’ll have to save his master before he can destroy him.

Several women have gone missing, and the local police are convinced a vampire is behind it. Is Krystof so lost to reality that he’s capturing and murdering human women? Is a rogue vampire moving into Krystof’s territory for the kill? Or is it something far more insidious, something that could threaten the existence of vampires everywhere?

Sarah Stratton is living a lie. Her past holds a secret she shares with no one—not even her good friend Cynthia Leighton, the West Coast vampire lord’s mate. It's a secret that could destroy her carefully constructed life as a professor at a Buffalo university. It’s also a secret that could save the lives of the missing women. To save them, however, she must enter Buffalo’s vampire community and put herself into the care of Rajmund Gregor.

But can she trust Raj, the dangerously seductive vampire who wants to lay claim to far more than her secrets?

Review - Lucifer by D. B. Reynolds (Vampires in America #11)
Lucifer: Vampires in America: The Vampire Wars, Book 11 - D. B. Reynolds

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover definitely fits with the rest of them like works of art that should be appreciated.

This is the 11th book in the series (not counting novellas).  This series is for adults who are not of the faint of heart.  There is violence and love in spades.

I really love D.B. Reynolds writing style.  Her books are packed with action, intrigue, and baggage to go with the vampires’ long lives.  I’m always intrigued and never want to put the book down whichever one it is.  Her humor written through makes me laugh.  She always takes you on an emotionally journey.

Lucifer and Eleanor’s story is just as fantastic as I find each story to be.  This story mostly takes place in Canada in Sophia’s territory.  I don’t want to give anything away, so read the blurb and if you are intrigued, you definitely want to read this book.

I highly recommend the entire series to vampire fanatics who understand the powerful relationships with vampires.  In this series, there is NEVER a dull moment!
