This is book # 5 in The Stanislaskis: Those Wild Ukrainians series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment, and understanding - and to avoid spoilers - I recommend reading this great series in order.

 

Frederica AKA "Fred" is still waiting.  Waiting for Nick to see her as a grown up, as a woman.  She is tired and thinks it is time she takes matters into her own hands.

 

Nick met Fred's family as a teen.  He loves them and would do nothing to hurt them.  So these new feelings for Fred are not welcome.  He just cannot stop them.

 

I re-read this story at least once a year.  I decided it is high time I give it the review it deserves.  This series is amazing.  The family makes it so fun to read.  These characters are meant to be together and I love reading the way they fall toward one another.  Just another great book from a fabulous author!   I think everyone should read this series!!  I give this story a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Despite being the 5th book in a series and cameoing other couples and their children this is a good stand alone focusing on Freddie and Nick. Freddie may only be 24 to Nick's 30 but she is totally set on them being together. The ways in which she sets out to seduce Nick into falling in love with her is both sweet and creative, after all 10 years is long enough to wait for true love!

Frederica had left her hometown and headed to NYC where other relatives live. She is a lyricist and hopes to team up with Nick, who she's loved since they were kids.
She sets words to his tunes and Nick knows it's gonna be a hit, even them working together. They are cousins but it's complicated.
The family gathering brings them closer and further apart.
When Marla, a relative comes to the family after her husband has abused her and the kids, Fred ends up being attacked from him also.
She breaks off when he can't love her in the normal way.

I enjoyed this quite a bit, we met Nick when he was a teenage delinquent but now he's grown up and a composer and so is Freddie( the adorable six year old in Taming Natasha), who has been in love with him since forever. She moves to New York with a plan to make Nick fall for her, he's a composer and she a lyricist and she wants to make him see her as a woman, and Nick fights hard not to but ends up falling anyways. But Nick still carries a lot of baggage from his old days and messes up, trying to not confront his feelings but he does at the end. Freddie was pretty great, responsible, sweet and knew how to stand up for herself.

I loved catching up on the other family members as well and their brood.
