That's one suspicion I have, too, actually. The way things look, they really only have one single person who's looking after the website at the moment. (Plus after their Facebook page and whathaveyou.) If that one single person is on vacation -- and it wouldn't be unusual for that vacation to last 2 or 3 weeks, and to involve travel practically all of the time -- then it's a virtual certainty that we won't be hearing anything before that vacation is over. Still, July 19 for their blog's most recent time stamp is a long time back, at least if we are talking about one single person. -- Whether the Polish do summer vacations à la française (i.e., the whole country off to the beach or wherever at the same time and nothing, absolutely nothing getting done until the end of August), I have no idea. It's certainly possible, though. If this most recent neglect is not due to a general outbreak of vacation absence syndrome, though, I do think we have grounds to worry (again).

This doesn't make sense unless all the reps have been taking holiday at the same time since January...

Well, they more or less confirmed that the earlier radio silence was due to their losing their programmer. Kate seems to have quit as well; we haven't seen her around in a LONG time. Dawid and Joanna have moved behind the scene (if they're still around at all in turn), and from the way BL have always presented their team (and stll do: http://booklikes.com/team), that's who it was always down to -- Dawid and Joanna, Kate, and the programmer. So it now pretty much comes down to their new programmer maintaining their online presence. If he's not around ... well, that's that for the time being.
FWIW, I've now also sent them an email (hoping it'll go to someone other than the person who has left their FB page and BL blog unattended since mid-July).
Extremely unusable for me today.
It's impossibly slow this morning. I actually thought I didn't have any updates overnight because my notification indicator took so long to refresh.

I'm upgrading Susanna's comment about molasses in a Canadian winter to molasses in Winnipeg in winter (it pays to be precise - Vancouver just wouldn't cut it for this).
On a related note, is the "load more posts and activity" bar working for you guys? I'm finding that the only way I actually get to see new posts is by reloading the dash -- which given the speed issues only adds to the site accessibility problems.

Also, I'm now officially part of the crowd for whom online notifications don't work, or work only selectively (I opted not to get email notifications, so I can't comment on those).

I'm a delicate Southern flower - all of Canada is cold in winter to me! But thanks for the precision. LOL
The site is hideously slow for me too, and the 'load more posts and activity' bar intermittently hangs up.

Apparently molasses doesn't so much freeze as leave behind sugar crystals. Are we at that point yet with the site?

I've given up on the 'load most posts' bar and have had to open posts in new tabs in order to leave comments.

@Tannat: Yeah, I'm opening posts in new tabs to comment as well. If I can see them in the first place ... this afternoon, if I hadn't braved the page load treacle and refreshed my dash every so often, I'd have gotten stuck forever with seeing only the posts on my dash when I first logged in. (Sigh.)

@Charlton: Let's hope he responds!

It's working (or was before I went to bed last night) for me, but so very slowly that you wouldn't think it's going to do anything. I get to the bottom of the page, click on "see/load more posts" and it was anywhere between 1-4 minutes before it actually loaded anything.

At the same time all the slowness started happening earlier this week, I noticed my email notifications were totally screwed up. I was receiving all of them, but every time I got a notification email for a new comment or like, I'd get two or three old email notifications sent again. So for every new email, I'd get a couple of repeat emails.

Nobody else reported this, there was a chance it was an issue on my end, and it wasn't bothering me enough to investigate/report it myself. But now that people are reporting other issues with notifications, I'm wondering if that part of the site functionality going pear-shaped is what is dragging down the overall site performance.

I don't really care why, to be honest, I just want someone to effing tell us they're there and working on it.

"I don't really care why, to be honest, I just want someone to effing tell us they're there and working on it."

I'm so cynical this will ever happen by this point.

TA - do you still see your comment on their Facebook site? I can't find mine, and it looks like someone has turned off the ability for people to post on their timeline.

Is this just me?

That's what I thought - and that would have just happened in the last 48 hours, as I did comment on their page on the 12th. Which means someone is there in the background...

The site is still stupidly slow, but it's not as bad today as yesterday.
