We still have a long way to go before Halloween Bingo 2017 is over, but I thought it would be fun to have a thread just for the worst books we read -- and for the best! And yes, the official W & B rules allow you to change your mind if you read something better than your so-far best or worse than your so-far worst!
Best: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, by Agatha Christie.

So far I haven't read anything under a 3 for the bingo - keeping my fingers crossed this continues.

Oh, you are soooooo lucky!
Best by a long way is We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

Worst is definitely The Thin Man. I did better when I tried to read it as a comedy, but the throwaway comment about incest made the comedy a bit hard to find.
The Bird Eater is my worst so far. That book and I did not get along.

The best? The Lesser Dead by Christopher Buehlman.
Unfortunately, I'm also going to call The Thin Man my bingo low point so far!

My high point was either Brat Farrar or The Bride Wore Black, both of which were wonderful surprises!
I wasn't thrilled with The Thin Man, but since it wasn't a book I really chose to read, I kind of discounted it.

Almost had a three way tie for Worst Place -- Terror in Tower Grove, A Spirited Manor, and Haunting of Ashburn House -- but Tower Grove edged out the other two by a holier-than-thou nose.

I think I'm saving my best 'til last -- not counting Brat Farrar -- so we'll see on that.
This sounds fun!

Worst Book (so far): Sweetheart, Sweetheart

Best Book (so far): It's a toss up between Gilded Needles and Cold Moon over Babylon. I rated one slightly higher than the other, but I think, overall Gilded Needles was the more enjoyable and impressive book.

(I am not counting the Pratchett books towards this. They are in a league of their own.)
Best: The Tokyo Zodiac Murders

Worst: Crud, probably The Thin Man tied with A Beautiful Blue Death.

I guess that depends on whether you're liking it so far and whether you need the square.
So far the best is We Are Watching by Hunter Shea (still need to review). I don't think I have a worst yet but give it time@
Best so far: Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz I read for Ghost square. Like the style of the book and how it started the series.

Worst: Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner I read for Cozy Mystery. It is so wrong. I hate the characters and even if they said they are investigating a murder, they are not of much help. In the core of this yucky story is a married woman regretting having 3 children and wanted to have an affair with her ex bf who is investigating the murder with her. It is just an awful book.

I don't mind the bad ones too much. Horror isn't my thing, so when it comes to the vampires and werewolves and such, my choices are coming mainly from Kindle freebies. And that's always a crap shoot. Plus I wanted to get those out of the way, so to speak, before I got more into the mysteries. I had better choices there, too.
I'm hoping that The Thin Man will be my worst. I'm not sure I have anything that would qualify as "best" yet.

Vampires and werewolves don't have to be horror books. I'm reading The Fifth Elephant for werewolves.
I've only read four books for Halloween Bingo, so there isn't much to choose from yet. However:

Best: The Drops of God Vol. 2

or, only counting stuff that isn't graphic novels: Unseemly Pursuits by K.B. Owen

Worst: Parasite Eve by Hideaki Sena

I really hope I don't read anything worse than Parasite Eve.
Need help?
