5 Stars, Buy it.

The kindle version of this is a little weird, it has outlines on the pages and looks like you are reading it on your phone because there is a battery and wi fi signal on it. Anyway, this is a cute story about a little guy named tek who is completely hooked on gadgets. Once tek gets away from his gadgets, the weird outlines disapear and everything looks normal.  Such a totally and sweet adorable book. Of course it’s written by Patrick Mcdonnell, so it’s no surprise it’s incredibly juicy and sweet. Highly recommend. My only complaint is that it’s too short.

5 Stars Buy it Jen and the girls go after Rosie with some magical kittens and of course the typical mayhem occurs. I still can’t get enough of this series. The characters are awesome, the writing is awesome. The art is sometimes great sometimes average but still the series is the best. Just when I got used to the other artist, the old artist returns.  Suddenly there is a cat problem. A mystical cat problem.  A Seriously funny cat problem. But this issue ends abrubtly and there is another story following it with a guest artist who I don’t think is very good.  I only skimmed the second story but from what I did read it was good. However the usual shenanigans which makes Lumberjanes so completely kick ass were missing. Over all a good issue. I’ll still give this 5 stars. But I want more of the possessed kitties story line!

I love the kiss between Molly and Mal. They make such a great couple. And I love how it’s no big deal to anyone. This is a great finally to the story arc.  I love the selkies and I love how it ended with everyone making up.  Onward to the next story arc.  Love me some Lumberjanes!

Who knew that a book about mental illness could be so damned funny?   Well, at least in parts. The bit about the dead racoon rodeo at 3am had me laughing so hard that tears were pouring down my face.  In between the funny parts are very serious discussions about mental illness, but even then there are glimpses of humor. This book makes me feel good because I know I’m not alone and sometimes it’s really good to see the funny side of this crazy illness I have. Yet, despite all the good parts some parts make me shake my head - like the part about complimenting people on their insides. What exactly does this have to do with mental illness exactly?.  I have a mental illness, I have severe depression but a lot of this book did not have much to do with mental illness.  I had a very hard time deciding on a rating because some parts were really good and some parts I was scratching my head going WTF is she talking about?   I did like the spoon theory of mental illness/chronic illness. It made way too much sense for me.  For awhile I thought I’d only rate the book 3 stars because parts are kinda weird.  But then there were lines that were just too funny and I had to laugh out loud.  I think I’m going to end up giving this book 4 stars because it was very funny and did have a bunch to do with mental illness, just from someone whose mental illness is a little different then mine.  Anyway, this is definitely worth reading. I’m not so sure I’d recommend buying it because I think I’d only read it once.  I’m definitely going to have to start reading her blog though.
