5 full moons - 'Hades' by Larissa Ione
Hades: A Demonica Novella - Larissa Ione

First off, can I say how terrible I feel for both Hades and Cataclysm after reading their story. Both of these two deserved some happiness in their lives since they both are being punished for what they did in their past. Hades though has been continuously been punished by the Grim Reaper himself, Azagoth due to what he did that is unforgettable and unforgivable. (At least to Azagoth it is) Although, it is a VERY extreme punishment even in my eyes. Cataclysm on the other hand is punishing herself for what she did with Gethel. Larissa Ione does a superb job on covering what happened in both back stories of Cataclysm and Hades, and why they are where they are currently. I enjoyed every page of Hades, while reading it that I didn't want it to end.

Cat is going to find herself in even more trouble after she almost ends up having another apocalypse happening in the human realm. It was an accident though, so she will try everything to redeem herself. She ends up in the Inner Sanctum with the cocky, sexy Jailor of the Underworld who's the only one that can help Cat redeem herself. He's been a jerk to her from the get go, but Hades is going to show another side of himself that Cat is going to find even more irresistible. (He is one sexy, scary Fallen Angel that I can see why Cat can't resist him. I couldn't.)

Hades is full of everything I have come to love from Larissa Ione. You have tension, drama, romance, action, and gruesome moments within the story and Larissa's characters. She brings very descriptive details, which makes you feel you are actually watching the events unravel in front of you. Characters who you fall immediately in love with and feel emotion for whatever they go through. Seriously, the whole entire time I'm reading Cat's and Hades story I'm feeling terrible for them, which made me root for the ending so much more.

The best part of Hades was the VERY ending. How these two got together finally was EPIC! I was not expecting a certain someone to react the way he did and what he made Hades do was truly funny and astonishing.

I give this book 5 stars and look forward to reading even more from Larissa Ione. Yes…I even enjoyed the sneak peek of the next book that Larissa Ione is bringing out this year at the end of Hades.  Ahhh!!! Seriously, anything Larissa Ione brings out takes priority and this book will take priority like ALL the others.  =)

But in the midst of conspiracies to kill him, one that comes close to home and almost succeeds, can he protect her? Only if he can curb her headstrong ways. Working at a clinic for supernatural creatures, she's escaped the notice of her father's legacy-obsessed family. Until they need a pawn in their bid for power. Snared by a vicious spell designed to wake her inner wolf, Carmen's only hope is to trust the one man strong enough to soothe her darkest instincts.

Alec Jacobson was once the heir apparent to the wolves' ruling elite, until he walked away to marry the woman he loved. She paid with her life. Now he lives as a rebel, a black-sheep alpha who protects the supernatural residents of New Orleans from the wolves' barbaric class system. Too bad he can't protect himself from his need for Carmen.

Yet staking his claim on his enemy's niece will turn his city into a battleground. Unless he can find a way to stop breaking the rules--and start making them.

7. Immortally Embraced by Angie Fox

But as the lover to a warrior demi-god, she knows how impossible some jobs can be…

Commander Galen is sexy, strong, and sworn to lead his team to hell and back. {Review} Reaver by Larissa Ione
Reaver: Demonica Series - Larissa Ione

The prologue left little to the imagination, but I saw some of it coming. I didn't like Harvester from the get go and she was nonredeemable in my opinion. Which brings up my biggest peeve.

The angels are rotten. Angels, in my mind, bring hope and justice. I'm not talking about fallen angels, the "good" angels were stabbing folks in the back. There was no level playing field which is sort of a cheap cop-out because the author can throw in whatever components that are necessary to keep the story going.

It's like having Superman fight Superman. Nobody ever wins. It's not an even fight. Each character should have their own kryptonite.

I've lost interest in the Horsemen and rotten angels who are just as bad as the demons.

I think I'm done with this series

HER TOUCH IS DEADLY

As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved, and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. Then Sin's innate ability to kill her enemies goes awry: She creates a lethal new werewolf virus that sparks a firestorm of panic and violence.

HIS HUNGER CAN'T BE DENIED

Half-werewolf, half-vampire Conall Dearghul is charged with bringing in Sin to face punishment for the plague. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood, and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her . . . and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own.

Smexy2 PantyRipper Must-Read

I don’t know why I’ve put off listening to this audiobook for so long because it’s hands down the best DEMONICA installment yet! Sin’s story is an emotional one full of highs and lows with plenty of toe curling sex scenes along the way. It took a while for me to get used to Ava Camille Edwards’s narration; ultimately she did an ok job I guess, but I was a little annoyed by this series’ ever changing voice even though it does fit the writing. I enjoyed the main romance as well as Luc & Kar’s side one, and loved the way Larissa Ione wrapped-up this series while also laying the building blocks for LORDS OF DELIVERANCE.

Sin’s tale was the most unique out of the Seminu demons because well, she is one of a kind after all. Her past is rather heartbreaking, and she clearly demonstrated on multiple occasions that being a succubus isn’t as fun as it sounds. Imagine not knowing that you’re a sex demon, and then on your 18th birthday unquenchable unexplainable horniness hits, and you go from being a virgin to a nympho. As a result, Sin’s only ever done the deed to feed, and has been missing out on the finer aspects of love making such as foreplay and deeper connections. She’s a very conflicted character, and I enjoyed following her growth throughout this story.

This novel’s plot revolved around Wargs which are this author’s version of werewolves. Sin’s responsible for a deadly virus that’s sweeping the globe, and instigating a civil war among the furry. I loved learning about the differences between born vs bitten Wargs, Feast Wargs, & Dhampires. Conall, the male lead, falls into the latter category, and his reasons for avoiding relationships at all costs were just as disturbing as the assassin’s. But, when these two broken characters get together they become two pieces of the same whole. The sex scenes are plentiful and HOT, not to mention creative! At one point there’s even a snowball involved…

I struggled a little with Ava Camille Edwards’s narration at first, but once I got into the story I was better able to overlook her monotone delivery thanks to Ione’s superb writing. She wasn’t bad per say, however it felt like Edward’s was straight-up reading the book instead of bringing it to life. The differences between her character voices were minimal, and her rendition of the spicy scenes left something to be desired. In my opinion, her voice is better suited for a younger POV, not a sultry succubus. She was hands down my least favourite narrator in this series.

I’d recommend reading SIN UNDONE over listening to it, but otherwise I enjoyed the conclusion to Larissa Ione’s DEMONICA world. It was great seeing all of the characters one last time, and now I’m psyched to meet the four horsemen!
