I read a sample of the book, on bookish first and I really enjoyed it. I won the book in their raffle and was excited. Once I got deeper into the book I liked it but not as much as I thought I would,

For a while I felt like something is missing, the world building , there is none really. we are just thrown in and we are there but that is just about it and sometimes even half way through I just felt lost.

Another thing that bothered me a bit was switching the POV randomly, just anywhere in a chapter without a warning the next paragraph was a different POV. This could, have been because it was a review copy but for this copy is was a bit confusing.

Other than that I enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the story, (for the most part.)

What I really enjoyed was that we get a voice of the dragon, and I really enjoyed that and we don't too often get that.

I liked that the book also deals with some real life issues, like alcoholism.

Overall, it was okay book and the while the writing was good it could have been better with the world building but other than that I liked it.

The chemistry between Theresa and Zeke is electrical which keeps the pages singing with sparks and passion but this relationship is hits the rocks from the very first ‘in the flesh’ meeting and only gets more feisty and explosive from there.

 

The plot is fast paced and full of non-stop action, excitement and laughs that keeps readers in stitches even while they bite their nails in suspense of just what will happen next. A whole host of wonderfully different, uniquely charming characters ensures that the readers can really get involved in the story and with stunning twists, fun and quirky elements, vivid imagery, this story is a diabolical delight.

 

The Dragonslayer's Sword: The Dragonslay... I really loved this book... the characters are fleshed out wonderfully, Astrid is especially memorable. DiStephan was without a doubt my favorite character, from the first moment he appeared on the page he was so vibrant and full of life! I loved how the author worked the dragons into the plot as well as the distinction used between them and the lizards. The one very tiny complaint that I have is that once glaringly and one other time minimally, the author made a jarring jump from one chapter to the next which threw me for a loop till I figured out what had happened. Over all this was a incredibly enjoyable read and I plan to continue on to book 2 the Iron Maiden in the series.

These two short stories are the first pieces I have read written by this author, and if the full series is even half as good as this, then I am gonna devour it! Each of these stories was vibrant and full of life and detail, they both painted beautiful images in my head and left me wanting more! Astrid is intriguing and complex. And the idea that a person can physically change their appearance or have it changed by someone else, depending on the strength of one's belief is a fascinating one. I am looking forward to reading much much more of this series!!!

 

 

 

This book fits Magic Realism, Chilling Children and probably Witches. 

 

Reading this one now. More like a magical world where wizards would take care of moles problem with charms. 

 

Sound like fun. 

 

Oh my goodness. This story is great. 

 

Jennifer Strange is 15 and going on 16. She manages a magic service agency that do delivery by flying carpet and finding missing items by magic.

 

She is trying to find out about a prophecy that Big Magic with capital letter M is happening because the last dragon is going to be killed.

 

The story moves smoothly and then a lot of real life issues happened in this fantasy land. 

 

Like it a lot. Looking forward to the next one.
