Death of a Dumb Bunny (Chloe Boston Cozy Mysteries Book 7) by Melanie Jackson
Death of a Dumb Bunny - Melanie Jackson Death of a Dumb Bunny - Melanie Jackson

Death of a Dumb Bunny (Chloe Boston Cozy Mysteries Book 7) by Melanie Jackson is an enchantingly funny mystery where the Hope Falls Easter Bunny, played by a charming man was murdered. I gave it five stars because it made me laugh out loud.

Chloe is playing Officer Bill for the school children on Good Friday. She met Rick Andrews, the new principal. "He was obviously having trouble with the fact that I am smaller than many of his fifth-grade students." She has Blue, her rottweiler therapy dog with her to entertain the children.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. That did not change my opinion for this review.

Anybody up for a little game of golf that ruins a good walk? Sick of football and hockey romance but love sports?

Here are Romances Novels Featuring Golf! My lists are never in any particular order. Enjoy!

1. Lady Be Good by Susan Elizabeth Phillips So funny!

Lady Emma Wells-Finch is determined to cause a scandal. Nothing big, you understand, just enough to convince her pompous British suitor that she's not an eligible candidate for marriage. She's thinking along the lines of, oh, maybe a discreet tattoo. But when suspended Texas golf pro Kenny Traveler meets her plane at Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport, Emma decides that he's the perfect candidate to destroy her reputation.

Kenny, on the other hand--who desperately wants to be reinstated on the golf tour--is just as determined to keep a low profile and remain squeaky-clean. If Lady Emma weren't a close personal friend of the golf commissioner's wife, he'd never have agreed to squire her around town. Unfortunately for Kenny, his weakness for the British beauty is growing daily, and it seems as though Emma may have feelings for him as well. In a bizarre turn of events, wild man Kenny finds himself trying to keep the prim and proper British lady from causing a scandal the size of which even the lone-star state has never seen, and the results will leave you laughing with delight.

2. Must Love Scotland by Grace Burrowes

Love on the Links

American attorney Julie Leonard has come to Scotland on a working vacation, determined to improve her golf game and earn a leg up in the judgeship sweepstakes. Former competitive golfer Niall Cromarty pulled the short straw for the job of being Julie's golf coach, though he has no patience for people plagued by blind ambition. As if that weren't trouble enough, Niall's neighbor-turned-nemesis, Declan MacPherson, has finally found an old Last Will and Testament that could wreck Niall's plans to expand his golf course.

Julie thought she wanted to wear that black judicial robe, but when Niall and Declan ask her to resolve their land dispute, she realizes she'd really rather wear Niall's ring. Will she steal Niall's dream, or will he fulfill hers?

My Heartthrob's in the Highlands

Florist Megan Leonard travels to Scotland to design the flowers for her sister's wedding, through its crunch time for Megan's business back home, and the loan that will allow her to expand her business has finally been approved. Best man Declan MacPherson is a Scottish farmer who strikes Megan as married to the land his family has been worked for generations, though he can be tempted to frolic with Megan in the greenhouse.

As Megan and Declan fall for each other, they realized one of them will have to give up everything they've worked for if they're to be together. Can true love put down roots in Scotland, or will it wither in the face of practical realities?

3. The Night Side by Melanie Jackson

The recent rout at Solway Moss battle left Balfour clan without a leader as the laird and his sons were all killed. The new laird is twelve years old George, who resides with his cousin, Lady Frances Balfour, who vows to protect him with the intensity of a lioness with her cubs.

Frances keeps hearing the howling of the ghostly canine Bokey. The residents insist the hound appears and howls whenever a Balfour is about to die. Frances fears that someone could be George as several people want to usurp the chieftain position from the lad whose only protection is the daughter of the dead laird. Frances fears she will be forced to wed. Hope arrives when King Henry VIII sends espionage agent Colin Mortlock to learn what is going on with the Balfour Clan at Noltland Castle; between a ghost and spirited female he learns more than he expected about life and love.

4. Suddenly Sexy by Linda Francis Lee

Kate Bloom’s ordered world is turned upside down when notorious bad boy and superstar athlete Jesse Chapman comes home. Seeing him again reminds Kate of all the reasons she harbored a Texas-sized crush on him back when they were kids. But she isn’t a little girl anymore . . . and she’s ready to show this hell-raising playboy just how much she’s grown up.

After a reporter starts digging into his past, Jesse Chapman returns home looking for space. The last thing he needs is a distraction, but that’s just what he gets when he sees his little Katie. Suddenly the girl next door is hot and sexy—and more than even this legendary ladies’ man can handle.

5. Sugar's Twice as Sweet by Marina Adair

He's trouble she doesn't need . . .

Thanks to a cheating fiancé, Josephina Harrington's perfect life just crashed and burned. Moving in with her overbearing parents is definitely not an option. No, she needs to prove she can make it on her own. And she will-by turning her great-aunt's old plantation house into a destination getaway. She's just not expecting her contractor to be so hands-on-and so totally irresistible.

. . . but everything she wants

Bad-boy golf champion Brett McGraw figured his hometown of Sugar, Georgia was the perfect place to lay low and get his life back up to par. The leggy blonde with a pint-sized pup is the kind of sweet 'n sassy trouble he never saw coming. She doesn't know a nut from a bolt and before long, he's renovating her house . . . as she steals his heart. Can he convince Josephina that his womanizing ways are in the past and he's ready for forever?

6. MacAdam's Lass by Glynnis Campbell

Josselin Ancrum, a sword-wielding Scottish war-orphan-turned-spy for Queen Mary, has her eye on Drew MacAdam. She suspects the golfing "Highlander" isn't quite who he claims to be. While she serves up secret messages in the guise of a tavern wench, he seems to be courting the enemy English when he isn't beating the Scots at their own game. Drawn together by fate, Drew and Jossy are swept up in their growing desires and the designs of their warring queens, until they uncover the terrible secret that binds their star-crossed souls.

7. Senior Tour by Clive Scarff

Jimmy Garnett is a truck driver with a talent for golf. Jenny is a waitress at Jimmy’s favourite truck stop. When Jimmy shares his dream to qualify for golf’s senior tour, Jenny sees another side to this trucker and the two strike up an evolving relationship as Jimmy gears up for the journey of a lifetime.

8. Mulligan Girl by Rebecca L. Boschee

Ren Edwards has made a successful career out of playing the well-to-do customer, spending company cash and demanding flawless service from high-end retailers. But underneath all those fabulous perks, she's just a single Scottsdale girl who can't live without classic books, a fast car, and her best friend, Mo. Ren's life seems just about perfect until she meets Adan, an impossibly sexy Golf Pro Shop manager during one of her staged customer disputes. They fall helplessly for one another, with just one tiny hitch: Adan thinks she's happily married. Finding herself in a hilarious ruse far outside her comfort zone, Ren tries to untangle herself from her little white lie or risks losing the biggest perk of her life.

9. CaddyGirls by V.K. Sykes

Torrey Green once had a promising golf career, now she's stuck caddying for butt-pinching businessmen. She doesn't mind playing dumb while hauling clubs if it means she can get her golf career back on track, and she's going to need an influx of cash to focus on the pro circuit. A booking from video game mogul Julian Grant could be Torrey's cash-flow solution.

In town for a business deal, Julian's partners plan for a little action on the greens. They're looking for some fun with their rent-a-caddy girls and have a lot riding on who can score, on the course and off. This type of gamble isn't Julian's style, but he'll do whatever it takes to keep his partners happy--even if that includes breaking a few hearts along the way.

Julian soon discovers that Torrey is more than just a caddy girl, and they spark an intriguing attraction--but if Torrey discovers the truth behind his foolish wager, all bets are off...

10. A Demon and Her Scot by Eve Langlais

An unlikely duo, the golfing match from Hell, and a devil determined to win, even if he has to cheat. Lucifer’s up to his matchmaking mischief again in this fast-paced, humorous jaunt into the bowels of the pit. Think you can handle the heat?

“Fetch me a Scot,” Lucifer commands. Sounds simple, except the skirt-wearing jerk won’t cooperate. But Aella isn’t one to give up. Willing or not, she delivers her target to the Lord of Sin. In retaliation, the much-too-sexy Scot has Aella assigned as his bodyguard for the golfing match from Hell.

One shot ruined Niall’s life. A second shot could help him regain it. Niall sold his soul once to win a lady’s heart only to end up betrayed. Does he dare take a risk and give love a second chance?

Seal the Deal (1Night Stand Series) - JoAnne Kenrick

A little time by the sea would be great. I wouldn't mind frolicking with a selkie.

Selkies are Gaelic mythological creatures (though simlar stories are told in Iceland). They live in the ocean as seals but on land as human.

Enjoy this Selkie Themed Romances! My lists are never in any particular order.

1. A Well Favored Gentleman by Christina Dodd

Where has she been? The rumors fly throughout the Scottish countryside about Lady Alanna, the beautiful and mysterious displaced mistress of Fionnaway Manor. And now she has emerged from hiding, only to find her beloved estate besieged by greedy relatives. . .and coveted by a darkly handsome Englishman.

Ian Fairchild knows that Fionnaway belongs to him alone. For years he yearned for the cherished place where he passed his childhood. He can secure his rights to the manor only through marriage with the enigmatic Alanna, but the exquisite hellion has warned him at knifepoint to leave her house.

Now with skill and charm, Ian must penetrate the lady's defenses, and boldly lay claim to her body and spirit. But first he must prove himself worthy, and he holds the power to enchant and delight, inflame and inspire. . .and to convince this lady her true home is in her lover's heart

2. He Said, Sidhe Said by Tanya Huff

In these seven contemporary fantasies from Tanya Huff, we see a dog's eye view of loyalty and a cat's eye view of sea serpents. We learn that some Brownies could use a shave – although cookies will still be sold – and that there are at least two sides to every relationship, no matter how accidental and/or mythical that relationship is. We're also reminded that however worthwhile it may be to die with purpose, it's better to live well.  Huff's ability to leaven heartache with humour – and vise versa – gives this collection of previously published stories an unexpected emotional variety.

3. The Shadow of Mist by Yasmine Galenorn

It’s been more than a century since Siobhan Morgan fled Ireland to start a new life in America. As a selkie, she kept much of her life a secret, even from her good friends the D’Artigo sisters. But now a dark presence from her past has found its way across the ocean, in the form of a man obsessed with possessing her. With the D’Artigo sisters’ help, Siobhan must stop him before he destroys everything she loves.

4. Sea Witch by Virginia Kantra

Margred is a Selkie—a legendary being of the sea, able to shapeshift into seductive human form. And she has found a human she desires...

Burned out from the big city, Caleb Hunter becomes police chief on the peaceful Maine island of World’s End. Then he meets a woman who’s everything he’s ever dreamed of…

Their passion is undeniable, irresistible—and it may change the fate of humankind.

5. Love Struck by Melissa Marr

Alana knows the legends of selchies, the sea-fey who leave their seal-like pelts behind when they walk on land, passing for humans. But she never imagined she would meet one—let alone two—on the night of an otherwise forgettable beach party.

The selchie Murrin, though, has long imagined actually meeting Alana, the girl he has chosen over the sea. He never expected that the meeting would be so complicated, or that an old rivalry would make winning Alana's trust—and love—so difficult.

6. The Selkie Bride by Melanie Jackson

Recently widowed, Megan Culbin has inherited more than just a quaint cottage on the Scottish coast; she has inherited the ire of an ancient monster—and the protection of a virile selkie warrior.

7. Selkie's Revenge by Rosanna Leo

When a heartbroken, lonely widow is saved by an equally heartbroken, mysterious man, their lives are changed forever. But evil stalks the beaches of Orkney. Before their long-buried emotions can take flight, they have to save themselves from a monster with no soul. The pages burn with passion in Book 2 of Rosanna Leo’s hot, fantasy series, Orkney Selkies.

On the beaches of Orkney, Scotland, an evil entity stalks mortal women. Machar “Mack” Kirk is a selkie man with a haunted past, one that has prompted him to become a hunter. He prowls the beaches at night, his arrows aiming for the finman who took his first love.

Beth Pedersen also watches the sea. The haunted widow has suffered losses of her own, ones that have crippled her into a state of stony grief. Beth can no longer feel, can no longer see color and life. Until the day Mack Kirk saves her from a mysterious foe, flooding her world with brightness and foreign temptation.

As Mack and Beth fight their growing passion, the finman escalates his attacks. Before long, Mack realizes he’s not just playing Good Samaritan. He wants Beth, too, and will do anything to ensure his lover isn’t taken by the finman. But can he protect his mate from a monster with no soul?

8. Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler

Living in small town Rockabill, Maine, Jane True always knew she didn't quite fit in with so-called normal society. During her nightly, clandestine swim in the freezing winter ocean, a grisly find leads Jane to startling revelations about her heritage: she is only half-human.

Now, Jane must enter a world filled with supernatural creatures alternatively terrifying, beautiful, and deadly- all of which perfectly describe her new "friend," Ryu, a gorgeous and powerful vampire.

It is a world where nothing can be taken for granted: a dog can heal with a lick; spirits bag your groceries; and whatever you do, never-ever-rub the genie's lamp.

9. The Keepers: Christmas in Salem by Heather Graham, Deborah LeblancKathleen Pickering, and Beth Ciotta

Christmas is coming to Salem, but so is an evil force that threatens all mankind. In this memorable collection led by New York Times bestselling author Heather Graham, four powerful Keepers must save their community as a strange, eternal night creeps over the town. Forced to choose between their time-honored responsibilities or the lovers their hearts desire, these four extraordinary women must risk their own happiness to save the holiday. But Christmas is a time for miracles, and as each Keeper's greatest longing is met, the Season of Light returns.

10. Seal the Deal by JoAnne Kenrick

After being ditched at the altar, Finn Kneale isolates himself at Port St. Mary's magnificent lighthouse. A violent storm ravishes the coastline, pitching the maritime tower into the Irish sea and transforming Finn into a seal. Carefree at first, he soon longs to walk as a man again. When leap year arrives, bathing land and sea in magic, Finn temporarily regains his human form. If he can't find his soul mate in twenty-four hours, he'll be back to cavorting among the waves.

Anne Ward--resident midwife and newcomer to Port St. Mary, Isle of Man--guards some wild secrets of her own while avoiding entanglements with married doctors. A believer in fate, she seeks out Madame Eve's exclusive agency to help find her destined mate.
