You have not been paying any attention if you are surprised that I love this theme. Cat People. Yes! Yes! Yes!

I have read and enjoyed so many of these books. I pray with my little paws that Science Fiction Romance is the next big things.

Enjoy these Feline Aliens. You will, I promise.

My lists are never in any particular order. Cats want it all. No favorites. Just Mine!

1. The Savage King by Michelle M. Pillow

A girl with a mission…

Agent Ulyssa Payne is on a mission. It's her job to make sure the Medical Mafia leader doesn't leave the planet of Qurilixen. But, when her target is killed by his own daughter, her mission is over. Now, she stuck on a barbarian planet for three months until the Agency comes to get her.

Getting kidnapped by King Attor, she's left in the Var harem to await his return. But, when the King dies in battle and doesn't come for her, she's stuck dealing with his son, the new savage King of the Var. This is one complication Ulyssa didn't need.

A royal complication…

The Var Princes were raised by a hard man who put no stock in love-especially love with one woman. Bred to never take a life mate, these men will do everything in their power to live up to the dead King Attor's expectations and never fall in love.

Kirill is a man who must do his duty, only he didn't expect to do it so soon. When his father dies, he knows it's his destiny to be King. What he didn't expect is the troublesome mistress that's now his to deal with.

2. Feral Magic by Robin D. Owens

A blue moon rises, bringing with it magic and danger to a sleeping Denver.

Brandy Svensson mourns her lost soldier fiancee and struggles to move on. Her own near-death experience has brought her an odd "gift" – she has a telepathic connection with cats. She's coping with life’s changes until the night she finds a lost jaguar cub, just the start of the greatest changes of all...

Dak, a warrior Pantherman, is alarmed when his baby nephew, the Chief of the klatch, vanishes. Dak must find the infant before his enemies do...or be branded a murderer and risk igniting warfare among the clans.

When the cub turns into a human baby, shock and confusion flood Brandy. And when a full-grown jaguar arrives to claim him, then transforms into a man, fascination sweeps through her. Dak's protective instincts are triggered by this lovely woman, and the certainty that he's followed by a killer.

Drawn together in their fight to protect the baby, Brandy and Dak confront the enemy and the final choice threatens. Will the feral magic they've discovered together save or doom them?

3. Slave by Cheryl Brooks

He may be the last of a species whose sexual talents were the envy of the galaxy

"I found him in the slave market on Orpheseus Prime, and even on such a god-forsaken planet as that one, their treatment of him seemed extreme."

Cat is an enslaved warrior from a race with a feline gene that gives him awesome beauty, fearsome strength, and sensuality and sexual prowess unmatched by any other males in the universe. Even filthy, chained, and beaten, he gives off an aura of power and virility and his feline gene gives him a special aura.

Jacinth is an intergalactic trader on a rescue mission and she needs a man she can trust with her life.

She has spent years pursuing her kidnapped sister from planet to planet. Now her quest leads her to a place where all the women are slaves. "Jack" needs a slave of her own-one who can masquerade as her master.

Enmeshed in a tangle of deception, lust, and love, they must elude a race of violent killers and together forge a bond stronger than any chains.

4. Mine to Take by Dara Joy

He was full-blooded and untamable. Sensual and sinuous. Erotically magnetic. A uniquely beautiful creature who could make himself irresistible to women. And he was feral at heart. With his glittering green and gold eyes, silken hair, and purring voice, the stunning captive chained to the wall was exactly what Jenise needed. And he was hers to take... Or so she believed. But she had never heard how dangerous it was to lie down with the cat.

5. Loves Bewitching Thief by Angela Verdenius

All Lysie did was steal the handsome Argon’s jewels - twice. She hadn’t bargained on being trapped on his ship.

Marten had her now, a Felys female with tortoiseshell hair, a purr to curl a man’s toes – and coming dangerously into heat.

The cyborg just wants to kill her.

6. Shadow Fires by Catherine Spangler

Jenna dan Aron, a Shielder with psychic abilities, finds herself reluctantly married to Arion of Saura, a Leor who seems more beast than man, and who has no place in his life for softness or emotion. She finds life in the Leor settlement barbaric and beyond her experience. Her fierce warrior husband is her only buffer and her only lifeline, yet she finds herself challenging him and the ways of the Leors. In turn, he tries to resist the unfamiliar, protective urges his soft human mate raises in him, while they're both stunned by the sensual attraction that rages between them. And in the relentless heat of the wild Sauran desert, Jenna and Arion wage a battle of wills—until they discover that the heart is mightier than any weapon, and l! ove can forge shadow and fire together.

7. Ja-Rael's Lioness by  Angelique Anjou/Kaitlyn O'Connor

A stranger in a strange land, Elise is still trying to come to terms with the difficulties attached to being a dispossessed Earthling on an alien world. By all logic, she should have been terrified when the tall, muscular, cat-like humanoid rose from the water to capture her, be he ever so fascinatingly handsome. Instead, she discovers she is unable to resist when bombarded by the potent pheromones of his desire.

8. Heart's Surrender by Kathleen Morgan

When destiny brings Rissa, the proud daughter of Bellator's Lord Commander, to the lair of Morigan, the telepathic leader of the Cat People, they are both swept away by desire.

9. Imperial Guard by Viola Grace

Dealing with the family who refused to let her bury her father is difficult, but Isabi keeps her grounded as she fights for the survival of her estranged family.

Isaro, Isabi's sister, is with them using her appearance altering skills to forward the work of the Sector Guard. When she meets the Captain of the bodyguard to the Moreski royal family, she falls head over heels over his tail.

10. Forced Mate by Rowena Cherry

By all the Lechers of Antiquity, what is a god-Emperor to do when his chosen mate is caught on tape speculating that he is a brute and a bore in bed? Renowned for his sexual prowess all over the galaxy, Prince Tarrant-Arragon has a reputation for depravity to keep up, even if the reality of his private life is a far different story. His personal inclination would be to woo his intended with charm and wit, but politics and Tigron tradition call for abduction followed by swift consummation. Embarking on a skilled seduction, Tarrant-Arragon feels confident in his ability to take his queen. But he hasn't counted on the unpredictability of his little Earthling or the startling fact that she would make a pawn of his own heart.

Do you have any recommendations? Let me know! This theme is cat nip to me!

I know it is weird to think of Paranormal, Science Fiction or Fantasy Romance being set on the beach but some really wonderful love stories in these genres are sandy and sea lapped.

Enjoy!

1. Genesis by Kaitlyn O'Connor

Bri's uncertain of whether she finds it more unnerving or thrilling that Kole, a warrior well over six feet in height and built like the hulk, watches her with hungry, covetous eyes, until the slavers who captured her toss her into his habitat with him for breeding. Then she knows it's both, but it's even more unsettling to find herself the object of desire of two six and a half foot males-particularly since Kole and Dansk seem perfectly willing fight to the death to settle which of them gets to breed he

2. I Dream of You by Judi McCoy

Saddened by her broken engagement and the difficulties of her family owned computer business, Maddie Winston escapes to her grandmther's bed and breakfast in the Florida Keys. While walking the beach she finds a bottle washed onto the shore and begins to scrub the tarnished metal. Imagine her surprise when the top pops off and smoke rises, forming into a hunky genie who announces that her wish is his command. Maddie is so disbelieving, she leaves the man and his 'magic' bottle and returns to New York to start rebuilding her life.

When she arrives back in her apartment and begins to unpack, she finds the bottle in her suitcase. More than annoyed, she tosses it down the garbage chute. The next day, it shows up in her briefcase and this time she's forced to admit something screwy is happening.

She polishes the bottle again, not quite believing the coconut-headed hunk will show up, but he does, and that's when the fun begins. Follow Maddie and Ben on their magic carpet ride to adventure and true love.

3. Heart Change by Robin D. Owens

Signet D'Marigold's lonely life is shaken when a prophet reveals she is a catalyst for change. But to accept her new life?and the charge of the noble child Avellana means embracing a danger that may be fatal for them both. Especially when Signet?s attraction to her new bodyguard signals a secret enemy sworn to destroy them.

4. Dragos Takes A Holiday byThea Harrison

The Bermuda Triangle. Pirates. The Peanut. What could possibly go wrong?

Dragos Cuelebre needs a vacation. So does Pia, his mate. When the First Family of the Wyr head to Bermuda for some much needed R&R, it's no ordinary undertaking - and no ordinary weekend in the sun. Between hunting for ancient treasure buried beneath the waves and keeping track of their son, Liam—a.k.a. Peanut, whose Wyr abilities are manifesting far ahead of schedule—it’s a miracle that Pia and Dragos can get any time together.

They're determined to make the most of each moment, no matter who tries to get in their way. And did we mention pirates?

5. Insufficient Mating Material by Rowena Cherry

Commander Jason's true identity as Prince Djetthro-Djason has been uncovered, and he's forced to mate with the ruling prince's sister, Martia-Djulia. But this is not the punishment it seems. Though Djetth and Martia's one night of passion was mistakenly triggered by another's scent, Djetth is rather fond of his high-maintenance bride-to-be. Unfortunately, she's pining for his presumed dead alter ego--if only he can convince her she can love him regardless of his name. "Spunky" isn't often used to describe older heroines, but everything good about the word is perfect for Martia-Djulia, who acts as a wonderful foil to Djetth's unconventional courtship in this sequel to Forced Mate (2004).

6. The Sweetest Dark by Shana Abe

Lora Jones has always known that she’s different. On the outside, she appears to be an ordinary sixteen-year-old girl. Yet Lora’s been keeping a heartful of secrets: She hears songs that no one else can hear, dreams vividly of smoke and flight, and lives with a mysterious voice inside her that insists she’s far more than what she seems.

England, 1915. Raised in an orphanage in a rough corner of London, Lora quickly learns to hide her unique abilities and avoid attention. Then, much to her surprise, she is selected as the new charity student at Iverson, an elite boarding school on England’s southern coast. Iverson’s eerie, gothic castle is like nothing Lora has ever seen. And the two boys she meets there will open her eyes and forever change her destiny.

Jesse is the school’s groundskeeper—a beautiful boy who recognizes Lora for who and what she truly is. Armand is a darkly handsome and arrogant aristocrat who harbors a few closely guarded secrets of his own. Both hold the answers to her past. One is the key to her future. And both will aim to win her heart. As danger descends upon Iverson, Lora must harness the powers she’s only just begun to understand, or else lose everything she dearly loves.

7. Burning Up (Berkley Sensation) by Angela Knight, Virginia Kantra and Meljean Brook

Virginia Kantra continues the haunting tales of the Children of the Sea in her story of a wounded soldier rescued by an enigmatic young woman.

8. Collecting (Return of the Nine) by Viola Grace

Collecting the tools needed for survival is her talent, but a male of the Water Folk is something she is dying to add to her collection.

Emharo has spent her time collecting biological samples from the world around her and giving them to her family for analysis. She can find anything you need—you just have to ask.

Rivvin is a member of the Water Folk, and from the first time he saw this woman in his element, he knew that she was far more than she appeared to be and far more vulnerable than she pretended to be. She will be a challenging mate and a feisty partner if he can only convince her that she needs to add him to her collection.

9.
Virgin (The Cat Star Chronicles) by Cheryl Brooks

He's never met anyone who made him purr... Starship pilot Dax never encountered a woman he wanted badly enough. Until he met Ava Karon... And he'll never give his body without giving his heart... Dax is happy to take Ava back to her home planet, until he finds out she's returning to an old boyfriend... As their journey together turns into a quest neither expected, Ava would give herself to Dax in a heartbeat. Except he doesn't know the first thing about seducing a woman...

10.  Soul Song: A Dirk & Steele Novel by Marjorie M. Liu

In her newest Dirk & Steele novel, Liu introduces fiddle player Kitala Bell, cursed with the ability to foresee people's deaths, and merman M'Cal, slave to a soul-stealing witch. When M'Cal's cruel master orders M'Cal to steal Kitala's soul, he's loathe to carry through with it but can't stop himself—or the witch. Unsuspecting Kit, meanwhile, has gotten herself in dutch with some local criminals while trying to help a girl she's sure will be murdered. By the time M'Cal catches up with Kit, he's forced into the role of rescuer—and, before long, red-hot lover. Though it starts slow—as clueless Kit must become acquainted with the author's paranormal underworld—Liu's latest is a clever, finely constructed take on the Little Mermaid story and delivers great paranormal suspense. Though the love story lacks complexity, and the Dirk & Steele detectives play only a peripheral part, all the other elements Liu fans expect—a strong heroine, a damaged hero, sharp dialogue and funny, fanciful details—are well-represented, making this a satisfying return to her universe.

Forced Mate - Rowena Cherry Just blah. Did not like this book at all. Maybe it was the lingo or something but it just was over my head. I didn't even make it a quarter of the way through.
