Good Characters and story
Justin (Male Model Chronicles) (Volume 1) - Christi Snow,Mia Downing,Sarah Negovetich,Shauna Kruse,Joshua Scott Brown

Joshua was a hot male who had made a name as a  fitness model in a holiday lingerie show who had a kind heart. Joshua had also been in the Air force and loved to play video games.  Joshua had worked with the famous Mrs. Kruss and on a recommend he was hired with former military models. He was also to escort a famous model down the runway in a grand show. When Joshua went to the facility tv prepare it was another world with blatantly clad females some were nude. Joshua had no reaction other than a little embarrassment and confusing. Then Joshua saw Autumn  who seemed to be the organizer or body handler of sorts the first thought Joshua had was he wished she was handling his body. Autumn was having her own problems as she was the representative Layne Media. She was the event organizer joshua was was assigned to be property of Bianca who was a famous lingerie model and the legendary face of of Pandora’s Fantasy Lingerie. Bianca also had a stalker.  Then Pandora’s father created drama - the majority of pandora who was a manipulative narcissist. Autumn’ sister and partner was determined to have more of Pandora. Something from the past was affecting Autumn and her sisters relationship. Joshua became headline news as he was thrown into a media circus when he became engaged to the model. Joshua is very attracted to Autumn but now engaged because of his big heart and saving Bianca.  Autumn is attracted to Joshua and loves to play video games also.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a fun fun read with some danger shot inI liked the fast pace and plot. I would have liked this to have been a little longer. I admired Autumn’s loyalty to to her sister even if I didn’t like her sister. There was, danger, heat hot models- especially males, romance, mystery, a meddling relative, gaming nerd, ex military, a stalker, and a lot more in this book. It was never explained - or I missed it- why younger Autumn took the blame for things that happened when she was eighteen. I liked the characters and the ins and outs and I recommend.

good story and characters
Lance (Male Model Chronicles Book 2) - Christi Snow,Mia Downing,Sarah Negovetich

Matthew Lance is a rich owner of Lancer Industries. But one call by Sharina and he becomes Lance the super model . Andi is a romance author rather shy but definitely a fan of Lance’s. But Andi  has almost closed herself off from everything. But  did agree to work  with Lance. Lance is attracted to Andi. But he decides to go real slow. Then someone tries to take over his company and in the fray Andi is kidnapped.

I really liked this story. It really is more than a romance which makes it even better I loved the characters especially Matthew and Andi for all the twists and turns they went through. I like the story and plot a lot also. I recommend.

I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

ARC review: Rite of Revelation
Rite of Revelation (Acceptance Book 2) - Sarah Negovetich
I received an ARC to give an honest review.
Wow is all I truly say with this book. If you haven't read book one Rite of Rejection I highly suggest you start reading it so you can understand what is going to be happening in Rite of Revelation.
So Rebecca and her friends pretty much got in trouble with their little stint of broadcasting during the Acceptance. You just know that the Cardinal is not going to let them leave he has to make an example of them. So when Rebecca and her friends escape you know that is going to make the Cardinal even more mad than he already is. As Rebecca and her friends run through the wilderness they come across a small village and they learn there are other villages out there that are in hiding from the Cardinal as well. Will Rebecca and her friends finally be safe from danger? Can they all finally have a semi normal life? We see Rebecca grow more in this story especially when she has to make big decisions. Though through out the story you just are waiting to see if the Cardinal will ever find Rebecca and what will happen to those that try to protect her? At the end of this book I already was seeing a possible book three being written by this author. In this story we get more of the villages and how they work, also we see how Rebecca and her friends are surviving not being in the PIT. There is so much within this story that I loved that I feel I would give too much away. If you are looking for a book that has some action, love, a great story line, likable characters then pick up this book.
Not much more I can say except get this book if you like defiance, survival, friendship, some action and more.

Found at the Library (Christi Snow)
Found At the Library - Christi Snow,Mia Downing,Sarah Negovetich

This is my first book of Christi Snow, which I found thanks to a status update from a friend. There were some things I really like and things that really annoyed me (and influenced my reading experience). Okay, let's see ... let me start with what I liked from the story.

I thought it started strongly. I loved the beginning -- the descriptions of the library with so many books in sight. I mean, this sentence alone -- The aroma of paper and ink permeated his senses like nothing else in this world. Being in the midst of all this literary brilliance was honestly his favorite time of the year -- made me want to weep. The beauty and joy of being readers *sigh*. Only us could appreciate the aroma of paper and ink, right?

Also the theme of book and reading, and love for books or written text being executed in a different form of art by someone who enjoy books through different means (since Tommy was dyslexic he found his love for books by listening to audiobooks) -- that was something I truly appreciated. I liked that Ms. Snow created a thing of a challenge for his character, Mac, in order to see that celebration of books and stories can come in so many ways.

When it comes to character, I did like Mac. Sure, he did something that I thought bordering to creepily stalker-ish in the beginning but I could also see that he was a hopeless case because he liked Tommy. So I was able to forgive this sucker a little bit *lol*. The female characters were also likable; always nice to see women who takes non sense when it comes to the men in their lives.

I enjoyed the secondary plot related to Tommy's younger brother, Ryder. It provided a kind of angst -- a good one, because when it came to angst between Tommy and Mac, I thought it was unnecessary, but I'll get to that later -- in addition to giving a different take on Tommy. I was slightly annoyed with Tommy as a character (which I will explain) but I couldn't deny his love towards his brother. It helped his case, so to speak.

Now, the things that I didn't fully enjoyed...

Tommy was a bit too prickly for me, and he also quickly jumped into conclusion, which contributed to the unnecessary separation. I'm NOT a huge fan of Big Misunderstanding theme in romance, and this definitely had one. The whole thing about men don't talk about things, and the idea of "you should make your move first" grates on my nerves every time. Tommy could easily asked Mac about why he decided to do that with his character (yes, Tommy made a conclusion without even reading Mac's book). Tommy could also picked up a phone and talk it all out.

I also had big issue regarding the flow. I think about the last third of the story, Ms. Snow decided to include excerpts of Mac's book (in order for Tommy to understand Mac's feeling). Not just one but ten installments. It became "a book within a book" and for me it disrupted the flow. It felt like an attempt to add more pages and extend the separation between Tommy and Mac. I found it not effective nor efficient (I ended up skimming this part).

But in conclusion, I still thought this was a good introduction of a new series. I am especially excited when I see the couple for book two, because that sounds like a recipe for great romance story.

The ARC is provided by the author via Netgalley for an exchange of fair and honest review. No high rating is required for any ARC received.

July wrap-up

I've finally had a successful reading (and watching) month! I've read 10 books in total. These are all the books I've read:

  • Carrie by Stephen King 4.5/5 ★ review
  • City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) by Cassandra Clare 4/5★
  • Rite of Rejection by Sarah Negovetich 4/5★ review
  • Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy 1.5/5★ review
  • City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3 by Cassandra Clare 4/5★

  • Confess by Colleen Hoover 3/5★review
  • Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie 4.5/5★ review
  • The Changeling (The Changeling #1) by Philippa Gregory 1.5/5★ review
  • Essays collection by George Orwell review
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

I technically did not finish Anna Karenina and The Changeling to I marked them as dnf-ed because I don't want to finish them. I also haven't read all of Orwell's essays but yea. I got to page 140 out of 508 of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, so I will try to finish this one this weekend so before #booktubeathon starts.

As you can see I didn't participated in the TBRTakedown read-along as I planned to. When that read-along started I still hadn't finish Purple Hibiscus and George Orwell's essays so I really wanted to finish those two before the end of the month and I did start The Changeling but I didn't like that one at all. I couldn't do most of the challenges anyways and I wasn't in the mood for those books so I decided to leave it for it was and read Great Expectations instead.

I also listened to three fairy tales of the brothers Grimm on PodCast: Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Rapunzel. The last two are on the Rory Gilmore reading list so at least I've read them now. I still want a bindup of all of Grimm's fairy tales, but that's a start.

When it comes to tv shows and movies I watched more than usual. I've rewatched the entire first season of Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls (I only have 2 episodes of Gilmore Girls season 1 left to watch).I also watched the first few episodes of Suits season 3, but for some reason I can't get into it and I'm not liking that season so far. Should I continue watching it?

And last but not least I've watched four movies:

So this was a pretty good month, right?! I also wanted to mention that I've (finally) passed my driving test so now I can finally drive around!

August will be the last month I don't have to do anything school related, so that will be a pretty good month as well.

What books have you read in July and which one was your favorite?
