Rogues - Ava March

Rob and Linus are childhood friends who seem to want different things but a love holds them together. When Rob decides that he wants Linus, he has to convince Linus because Linus is sure that Rob will marry and their friendship will change causing him to lose Rob again.

I liked Rob and Linus. I loved the ease they felt with each other and how they were able to communicate. I also liked that Rob was willing to put it all on the line to help Linus understand he was serious. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

The March by E.L. Doctorow
The March - E.L. Doctorow

One of the best books I have read this year. This is the second Doctorow book I have read (Ragtime) and I have very much enjoyed both of them. Doctorow has a very different style than most traditional historical fiction writers, and it is difficult to describe. There are many characters in this story, but rather than use the story to develop characters, he uses the characters to develop the story. That makes sense in my head but I am not sure if it makes sense reading it!

This story basically follows Sherman's army through Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina during his famous March in the final months of the Civil War. Every different type of person you can imagine that was impacted is represented in this book and I felt that it created an atmosphere that helps put the reader in those places at that time.

The Loner: Good Luck Grooms, Book 1 (The Bad Luck Wedding Series 8) by Emily March
The Loner: Good Luck Grooms, Book 1 (The Bad Luck Wedding Series 8) - Emily March

I've been a fan of historical romance as long as I can remember. Usually I go for the glamorous regency era, but this time I decided to try something new. The Loner rises above any expectations that I thought I had. Logan and Caroline take emotions on an adventurous route to romance. March intrigues with danger, tempts with passion and captures hearts with a whirlwind of emotion. I may just have to rethink my stand on western historical romance.

White Knight by Meghan March
White Knight (Dirty Mafia Duet #2) - Andi Arndt,Sebastian York,Meghan March

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in Books.

I thought that this was a wonderful conclusion to Cannon and Drew's story. The previous book in this duet, Black Sheep, ended with a pretty big cliffhanger so I was really eager to get back to the story and find out what would happen. I am not a fan of cliffhangers in most cases but I can deal with them when there isn't too much of a wait for the next book in the series. I really did enjoy the overall story.

Drew and Cannon were great together. I liked watching them grow together over the course of the duet. They had a lot of chemistry together and I thought that their feelings for each other seemed very genuine. I think that both characters also grew individually during this story. They both learned a lot about themselves and what they valued and wanted out of their life.

This book had some pretty exciting scenes and I was worried about both Cannon and Drew more than once. I enjoyed getting to see a bit more of the Casso crime family and its history. There was a bit of a mystery in the story towards the end that really had me guessing. There was at least one surprise in the book that I didn't see coming at all.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York both did a fantastic job with the narration. I thought that they were both able to bring the story to life. Their voices work together really well with this kind of story and I love finding books that they both narrate. I thought that they added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story. I had no problems listening for hours at a time and enjoyed the story a bit more because of their narration.

I would recommend this series to others. This book was a great combination of excitement and romance with wonderful characters that I wanted to learn more about. I definitely plan to read more of Meghan March's work in the future.

I received a copy of this audiobook from Audible Originals.

Initial Thoughts
I thought that this was a great end to the story. There were some twists that I wouldn't have predicted and I really enjoyed the characters. The narration was wonderfully done.
