Release Day Review! Steel Coyote by Beth Williamson!

Hello Again Readers! I am starting off this week with a trip to outer space and let me tell you the universe will never be the same! Enjoy and don't forget to add Steel Coyote by Beth Williamson to your shelves!

The universe is a tough place to make it as a female cargo ship captain, and Remington Hawthorne fights every day to scrape by. A sketchy deal goes south, and although she doesn’t want anyone else to touch her ship, she’s forced to accept help from the stranger who calls himself Max Fletcher. He’s hot. And he’s trouble. Big trouble. But she’s out of time, out of money, and every crooked cartel is on her tail.

Max Fletcher has spent his life running from his past. So he has no idea what makes him offer to bail out tall, gorgeous, sassy Remy when she needs a pilot to get her illegal cargo to its destination—the last place in the universe he ever wanted to land again.

One thing’s for sure, it’s gonna be a helluva ride.

Captain Remington Hawthorne fights every day to scrape enough to get by and she’s hanging on by her fingernails. She doesn’t want to accept help from the stranger who calls himself Max Fletcher but life hasn’t give her a choice. Remy and Max have to find a way to trust each other, save the crew, and not get themselves killed in the process and it’s gonna be a helluva ride.

This story grabs readers’ attentions and holds on tight with strong, quirky and feisty characters that make it fun and exciting. It starts off a bit on the slow side but this gives readers a chance to get to know the characters and really get a feel for their lives, making it easy for readers to become enthralled. The romance between Remy and Max has sparks flying in every direction as Max tries to win her over and get past Remy resistance but both of these characters are tough and quite grumpy so this makes courtship fun and rocky all the way through.

The plot may start off a bit slow but quickly picks up and accelerates to warp speed as Remy and Max discover they have been caught up in some kind of complex web of intrigue that could destroy them all. With bad guys around coming from every direction, Max and Remy not only have to learn to trust each other but everyone on the ship if they want to survive. Once readers have begun this journey through space, they don’t want to miss one second of thrilling & suspenseful ride.

Release Day Review! Law of Attraction (Tangled in Texas #3) Alison Bliss!
Law of Attraction - Alison Bliss

For single mom Bobbie Jo Weston, finding a husband is not on her to-do list. She's focused on turning a run-down chicken farm into a Bed & Breakfast. She agrees to let a friend’s nephew stay with her in exchange for his handyman skills, but she wasn’t counting on the super sexy Seth Landry being that guy.

Seth has a special skill-set, all right, but it has nothing to do with hammering nails. As a retired member of The Resistance—an elite group of ex-military soldiers—his dark, unsettling past haunts him. He needs a place to lay low, and an out-of-the-way B&B is nothing short of perfect. The blonde beauty doesn’t trust men, and he doesn't plan on sticking around long enough to change her mind.

The closer they get, the more they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. And while Bobbie holds on to her fear of watching another man walk out of their lives, Seth's mere presence has put them all in jeopardy. The only way to ever be free of his dangerous past is for him to accept one last mission...

The third Tangled in Texas book, Law of Attraction is a great read that grabbed my attention right from the start and held me captive throughout.

Bobbie and Seth are well developed and strong, captivating characters with lots of sizzling chemistry sparking between them and their romance is one that is ‘real’ with lots of tangled up emotions and trust issues that keep the relationship on a rocky slope. Sparks fly and lots of passion heat up the pages but at no point is their relationship a sure thing which keeps readers in suspense regarding their happily ever after until the very end, it certainly had me wondering if they would overcome the emotional strife and the secrets Seth is holding back. Seth’s interaction with Bobbie’s son adds sweet and heartwarming feelings to the story along and there is also some chuckles to be found in this story as well.

The plot flows smoothly with a steady to fast pace and of course lots of suspense and romance that kept me glued to the pages. The suspense regarding the romance is only part of the story as Bobbie has problems with another male from her past and Seth has an enemy that causes some excitement as well as does Bobbie’s overprotective friends with a few intense scenes.

I have read all three books in the Tangled is Texas series and I have to tell you that each and every one of them has been a joy to read. Each of them can be read as standalone stories but for me reading all the stories makes them even better because of all the personal connections between the characters. The stories are full of insight and everyday life occurrences and provides wonderful heartwarming happily ever afters and I can’t wait to read what Alison Bliss has in store for us next.

No David!
No, David! - David Shannon

This popular children's picture book taps into one of the first words we learn as young kids- NO! While this book is mostly based upon true, but humorous, scenarios many kids go through (drawing on the wall, playing during time out, overflowing the bubble bath, etc.) This book would be perfect for kindergarteners or 1st graders because the illustrations relate to that audience and the children can relate text to self by reflecting on times they were told no. An activity I could do with this book would be at the beginning of school to read this book, then go through do and don'ts on kindergarten/1st grade (what makes a good student vs. what makes a bad student). Overall, this book is so much fun to share with young students while also catching their attention and getting them engaged in the classroom discussion.

Maybe This Time by Chantal Fernando Book Review
Maybe This Time - Chantal Fernando

Very good cover.
It immediately caught my eye, it is simple, not sloppy, even cool. And what kind of chick doen's go for a picture of a half naked guy on the cover?

Plot was highly predictable.
Summer loses her mother and is forced to move in with his half-brother whom she hasn't seen all her life but immediately loves. The said brother has very hot friends and innocent(somewhat) Summer falls for the scarred, closed-off, badboy Reid. Reid feels an instant attraction for Summer but refuses to act on it but will fold later on. Reid has issues and dark secrets but eventually the two will hook up.

Conflict has potential but needs more work.
Several conflicts are shown in the novel and it might have been a hell of drama if the author could have just focused on them. Such a waste though and I just let my imagination run and even shed a few tears for heart was breaking for Summer with her circumstances. I feel the author wanting to speed things up and getting a happy ever after for the two but a little more drama would have been made their happy ending much more sweeter.

Alpha males = HOT.
Need I say more?

Overall, the book does not just do it form me. It would have been great but that's it. Would have. Summer has been oput in a very high pedestal and it is almost unrealistic. Pros are the oozing testosterone constantly in every page of the book.
