I just have to get this off my chest

dawn of justice

[Source]

I just watched Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and oh my, this movie was so bad. The whole Martha business was utterly ridiculous (I haven´t done so much eyerolling in a very long time), the special effect guys must have borrowed that "thing" from another movie set or from a second hand store for crappy CGI monsters and don´t get me started on Lois Lane. Because, woman, I have to tell you, Superman has other things to do than to save your ass all the time.

I liked Ben Affleck as Batman and Wonder Woman was pretty awesome. But other than that this movie is shite.

Waiting for Clark
Waiting for Clark - Annabeth Albert

Dear Author,
My friends and I love cosplay, and this year we’re going all out for our city’s con. Yup, we’re going to go as members of the Justice League. I’m going as Batman, but I can’t figure out who’s going as a Superman. My friends are being a little cagey. What’s going on? How did I go from not knowing who Superman is to making out with the guy?

What a wonderful interpretation of this prompt!

Bryce and Clark meet again after years, and while Bryce is dead set on surpressing is old feelings and not getting close to Clark again, all "Superman" Clark wants is to get back to the easy connection they once shared.

Annabeth Albert hit the nail on the head - again - with this one for me. I loved the alternating POVs, but Bryce definitely was my favorite. And I loooved the shower scene! So sexy, but tender at the same time. This was a real gem. All the love from me!

What's Going On?
Batman/Superman, Vol. 1: Cross World - Greg Pak,Jae Lee,Brett Booth,Ben Oliver,Yildiray Cinar,Norm Rapmund,Paulo Siqueira,Netho Diaz

The artwork is a stunner in this graphic novel volume, however the story is rather incomprehensible. It's hard to track what's going on, seeing as how there are two different Batmans and Supermans (technically one is Superboy), and their behavior was different from what you expect from the characters. I think the origin story about Darkseid was pretty awesome. I'd definitely give that a higher rating than the rest of this volume. Overall, it's a three star read that could have been smashing with more effort for clarity.

Let's get this party started with some really important news: BACON FLAVORED SEAWEED!!! Now Vegans can finally get their groove on!

Shit just got real!

Now back to our regularly scheduled amusements.

It'll take you a few seconds, and then... BAM!!!

You up for some Deep Fried Lasanga Rolls? I know I am.

To promote their new au naturel coffee creamer, Nestle set up shop with naked baristas- and some customers- covered only in body paint.

So... you'll have what she's having?

This is pretty smooth: the Piano Guys performing 50 years of Batman Music.

Speaking of Batman, Dorkly shows us the progression of grittiness in DC comics movies.

The new Batman vs Superman trailer that previewed at ComicCon.  Looks a little like it's all over the place to me, but we'll see.

And finally, Marvel Comics' daring recreation of some classic Hip-Hop album covers. Scroll through to see the comparisons to the originals.

See ya next time.

Happy Belated New Year!
Batman/Superman, Vol. 1: Cross World - Greg Pak,Jae Lee,Brett Booth,Ben Oliver,Yildiray Cinar,Norm Rapmund,Paulo Siqueira,Netho Diaz
Justice League 1: Origin - Scott Williams,Jim Lee,Geoff Johns
Birds of Prey, Vol. 1: Trouble in Mind - Duane Swierczynski,Jesus Saiz

Batman and Robin, Vol. 1: Born to Kill - Peter J. Tomasi,Patrick Gleason,Mick Gray
Superman, Vol. 1: What Price Tomorrow? - George Pérez,Jesús Merino

So for this year I WILL GET BACK INTO READING, if it kills me.  Which it might.  But I figure I'm off to a good start, completely immersing myself in the DC Universes's New 52.

So here's some quick thoughts:

Batman/Superman, Vol. 1: Cross World :  Holy fucking awesome.  I loved this so damn much.

Justice League 1: Origin  :  Also pretty damn awesome.

Birds of Prey, Vol. 1: Trouble in Mind : Ehhh, action movie fun!

Batwoman Vol. 5: Webs :  Yeah, DC, you are special.  I love the new Batwoman.  DC's direction with her?  Not as much.

Batman and Robin, Vol. 1: Born to Kill : When did Robin become awesome?  Really?

Superman, Vol. 1: What Price Tomorrow? :  I read this after Batman/Superman and Justice League because Superman actually seemed ... hardcore.  But this?  He's back to whitebread Superman.
