Feast for Ten by Cathryn Falwell is a good book based on math. I think it does a good job of telling a story and also including math. It is very easy to follow and the illustrations are great. I feel this book would be great as a read aloud. I do however wish the book allowed for more complex thinking for readers so that they could advance their learning.
I would read this around thanksgiving to relate the book to the holiday and student's own family feasts. As I am reading this book to my class I would count the corresponding number of items on the page. I would follow this up with math centers or a math activity that supports counting up.

Parker Braxton AKA "Brax" to his friends, ran literally into Layla. He thinks she makes the best coffee in the world, and wonders why others cannot do it right like she can. Now, he feels responsible for her and wants to take care of her. The attraction he is fighting is killing him. The sparks are sure flying between them.
Layla had no idea that her customer, the famous billionaire himself, knew her name. When he ran into her - she thought they would both just walk away. She really does not like others telling her what to do. She has a dream to get back to.
This book starts out with a bang. You can feel the tension between the MC's and it just builds from there. Such a great story with a little humor, heat, banter, and tension. I think it is a good balance and a great read. I will give this one a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

The Penthouse Pact by Cathryn Fox is the story of Parker Braxton and Layla Fallon.
Layla is a young college student working a full time job and trying to get by. Parker is a young rich business man who is hard nosed about everything. But when he anciently hits his car into Coffee Barista named Layla he start showing another side. Parker and his college buddies had made a pack never to marry and if the do they had to give each a large sum of money. Parker was so sure of himself but Layla is making him start to feel totally different. Layla isn't a yes person and isn't really impressed with his money....she just wants to work hard and get through college.
I really enjoyed seeing these two come together.
