Review: "Boy Shattered" by Eli Easton
Boy Shattered - Eli Easton

Dark but not depressing.

Angsty but not hopeless.

Heavy but with a silver lining.

Relevant but not preachy.

And since this is Eli Easton, very heartbreaking yet also very romantic.

There's a reason she is a favorite author of mine.

PS: The mystery aspect felt a little out of place, but I wasn't really bothered by that.

PPS: Brian’s dad can go step on a Lego.

Review: "Devour" (Unbreakable Bonds, #4) by Jocelynn Drake & Rinda Elliott
Devour - Rinda Elliott,Jocelynn Drake

I’ve been looking forward to my sweet little Ian’s story ever since the first book in this series, "Shiver". And man, am I happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed. Not in the least.

I’m glad that there was no kind of relationship angst or any other self-doubts between Ian and Harris' attraction towards each other. They (FINALLY!) got together pretty early in the story, and let’s be real: anything else would have felt forced because these two have been pining for each other over the course of three books at this point.

So with Ian and Harris’ romance (again: FINALLY!!!) being dealt with from the get-go, the authors were able to focus on the overarching Jagger storyline and bring it to a closure. And they did a pretty good job IMO, with a great and suspenseful final showdown (I will forever remember and cherish this series for those HILARIOUS code names alone).

So yeah, what can I say?

Wow. Just wow. My mind is blown.

This series just gets better and better.

Seriously, everything about these books is so outrageously and unashamedly good, I'm the happiest Mo-Fo right now.

I have to admit that I don’t even like book series that are set in an “Everyone and his mother is gay” universe, but these authors succeed to make each and every (side) character so damn likeable and memorable that I couldn’t pick a favourite at this point, even if my life depended on it.

No really, I love them all: every single hot alpha, the sweet and tender twenty-something, the ragged-edged detective, the feisty Greek mother etc.

But what I’m really looking forward to right now is Geoffrey and Sven’s story AKA the pretty elfin twink and the big bulky Viking.

Seriously, how these authors manage to believably (!) pull of this diverse cast of characters is truly remarkable.

So excuse me while I'm being here, fanboying all over these books and diving right into the next one.

~ 5 STARS ~
