Draw Play (Seattle Steelheads Football #4) by: Jami Davenport
Draw Play (Seattle Steelheads Football #4) - Jami Davenport

Draw Play by Jami Davenport

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reading Jami Davenport is like diving into the deep end without being ready for the splash. There are so many emotions that flash through the body that all one can do is pray that they are ready for the fall. Draw Play is a beautiful mess with an inspiring message and the heart to back it up. Bruce and Mac are the best of friends with a landfill of baggage between them. With life continuously throwing out curveballs, will they ever find the peace of mind that their hearts have never quit yearning for? Sweet serenity proves it has grit.

Draw Play: A Sports Romance - Tia Lewis

Claire meets Jake as she becomes his tutor.  He has to keep his grades up to stay on the football team.  They clash right from the start.

Jake resents being told what to do like a child.  Then he finds himself attracted to the most unlikely girl yet.  Can he overcome his own fears for a future?

I loved this book because it was REAL.  I mean what the characters are thinking are things we have all thought.  The pace was well done.  I just hope the author continues and gives more on the secondary characters that seemed interesting.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Draw Play: A Sports Romance - Tia Lewis

Jake had just been told by his football coach he was to have a tutor which upset Jake but there was nothing he could do. Jake came from a poor family and knew he needed football to get out of that environment. Jake was a senior now and only had this year to impress the scouts. Claire had a roommate-Jess who she had for five semesters now. Jess thought her other friends were losers and her friends felt the same about Jess. Claire had been working at the campus bookstore to make ends meet. Claire ends up being Jake’s tutor Jake is ashamed at first and Claire had a bad experience with a football player in H S so she wasn’t happy about her new placement. But as time goes on Claire and Jake are attracted to each other and start a relationship.

I didn’t love this and i didn’t hate this. It had some good things to it and some I didn’t really enjoy the plot. It was a very familiar one sports player and a tutor I read this before. I didn’t like how the characters attitudes toward the other characters. Like Claire’s friends toward the jocks.  Did like how Jake’s and Claire’s study together when she is tutoring him and how they act as time goes on. Story just seemed bland to me and as I said familiar. I didn’t like how Jake told the coach there were a lot of other women when he told Jake not to let Claire go. Yet I liked the chemistry between Claire and Jake most of the time. So I liked most of the ins and outs. But this story didn’t WOW me.

Quarterback Draw (A Play-by-Play Novel)
Quarterback Draw (A Play-by-Play Novel) - Jaci Burton I'm feeling quite conflicted over this story. I enjoyed the hell out of it, but there were quite a few times where I wanted to throw the book into a fire. Mostly each time Katrina tried to convince herself that being independent meant being alone and miserable. The time spent with Grant's family was the best part of the book. Jaci Burton should just write about the Cassidy Family because that was hilarious, they totally stole the show. I'd recommend this for anyone that likes contemporary romance where all the characters are sickeningly perfect, but you can't help but like them anyway.

Quarterback Draw (A Play-by-Play Novel)
Quarterback Draw (A Play-by-Play Novel) - Jaci Burton Quarterback Draw by Jaci Burton

Playing For Keeps

Grant Cassidy knows how to be a football star—flash that dazzling smile, throw the winning pass, get the girl. But while the hot quarterback loves the game and the lifestyle, no woman has come close to catching his heart. Then he matches wits with a smart, gorgeous model, and Grant finds himself wanting more than a fling.

Supermodel Katrina Koslova might live in a world of glitz and camera flashes, but she works hard to provide for the family that relies on her. She doesn’t have time for fun—much less a boyfriend—but Grant seems determined to be the exception to Katrina’s rule.

Their explosive chemistry is undeniable, but Katrina’s afraid to let go and rely on anyone but herself. Grant intends to ease her fears and prove he’s a man of style and substance

My review:

I thought Quarterback Draw was fantastic. I really liked Grant and Katrina together as they both felt their way through the beginnings of their relationship. Katrina was easy to relate to and understand because she was so much like so many women out there that haven't been in the dating field in so long that their lives are completely consumed by their responsibilities.
Grant doesn't make excuses or try to solve Katrina's problems for her and he doesn't make assumptions about who or why she is the way she is. He accepts her for the struggles she has to overcome and is simply there for her when she needs him. He's not overwhelming or over domineering which is something I liked through the story. He embraced and supported Katrina when she needed it and he gave her space when she needed it. I thought Quarterback Draw was a beautifully written story.
