Hunted: An Eternal Guardians Novella - Elisabeth Naughton

If I ever doubted that I need to read this series, now I don't.

I loved that this book explores the ruthless side of the ancient gods, something that I've missed reading about, to be honest. I liked the fact that Zeus is portrayed as a bad guy, and I'm super excited to see how that will play out in future stories.

Erebus is pretty much a mystery for the entire story. I didn't feel like we get to know him well enough, but that is appropriate, since he doesn't know himself all that much. He doesn't remember his past, he doesn't know much beyond being a slave to the gods, and that makes him hard to understand to be honest. I would have wanted to see that side explored a bit more, but since this is a novella I kind of get why his story remains a mystery. All I know is that he is pretty sexy.

Sera is a good heroine. I spent a lot of time wondering about her, but once the full story was revealed, I understood why she ran away, why she stole something precious to Zeus, and why she tried everything in her power to keep the god from getting the object back. I truly felt sorry for her, especially once her past was revealed. I also couldn't help but admire how stubborn she was, even though it made no sense at the time.

I got to the end of this book and, I'll be honest, I was a bit miffed that it ended as fast as it did. I wanted to read more, which I'll definitely do, because all this mystery surrounding the war between Zeus and everybody else is making me curious. Also, I love how Sirens are portrayed in these books, like they're the ultimate army that Zeus has. Or does he?

The book is pretty sexy, and Erebus and Sera have a ton of chemistry *fans self*. I also like how they eventually allow themselves to be vulnerable around each other. I'm only sorry we didn't get to see more than a glimpse into their past as trainer and trainee. I bet that was fun. The book is really fast paced and I finished it pretty quickly. The ending was surprising, especially by how simple it all turned out to be, which I loved.

As I said before, I'll definitely be reading the entire series in the future, because I'm truly curious to see how it all started and also what it all means.

ABOUT HUNTED:

Erebus – Dark in every sense of the word, a skilled and lethal warrior, and sinfully sexy by design.

Since the dawn of modern man, Erebus was Hades’ secret weapon in the war between the immortal realms. Until Hades lost the minor god in a bet to his older brother Zeus. For the last hundred years, Erebus has trained Zeus’s Siren warriors in warfare and the sexual arts. But he’s never stopped longing for freedom. For a life filled with choice. And lately, he also longs for one Siren who entranced him during their steamy seduction sessions. A nymph he quickly became obsessed with and who was ripped from his grasp when her seduction training was complete. One he’s just learned Zeus has marked for death because she failed the last Siren test.

Before Erebus can intercede on the nymph’s behalf, she escapes Olympus and flees into the human realm. In a fit of rage, Zeus commands Erebus to hunt her down and kill her. Erebus sees his opportunity to finally go after what he wants, but he’s torn. Freedom means nothing if the Siren at the center of his fantasies doesn’t truly crave him back. Because defying the gods will unleash the fury of Olympus, and if he chooses her over his duty, whether she joins him in exile or not, the hunter will become the hunted.

Let's start off by saying that this is a first time read for us by this author and that we really enjoy our first read by them.

Erebus and Seraphine are in and impossible situation.Erebus is tasked to securing Sera and returning her to Zeus after she flee's.That is going to be a problem for Erebus as they have a past and he has unresolved feeling for her.

What a story it was action packed from  beginning to end. There was always something going on you were kind of living on the edge with them. The chemistry between these was amazing and hot as hell.

Sera I found her to sexy ,strong will, smart a surviver and very clever.

Erebus was protective, dangerous, immortal,a god, and sinfully sexy.I loved how he was willing to give up his life to see Sera protected and safe from her enemies.

I loved the story as it was very engaging as we learned a lot about both characters as well as a few very dangerous secrets coming to life.

I loved that Sera was brave enough and strong enough to save both of them .These two

were destined to be together and I am so glad that they found the happiness they both deserved.

I love it when you can connect with the

characters that you read about and I was able to do that with a cast of characters as I loved them from the onset so we already new we were going to love this story. When you are dealing with deities and gods you know your in for one hell of a ride as they are dangerous and lethal and without conscious.

A sexy read with intrigue mystery and love as well as a touch of erotica thrown into the mix with some scorching sex scenes.

We loved this novella are are looking forward to reading other books in this series as well as the authors other works.

5 stars from us

ABOUT ELISABETH NAUGHTON

Elisabeth Naughton is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. From Elisabeth: “I was never one of those people who knew they wanted to be an author at the age of six. I didn’t have imaginary friends. I didn’t write stories in my journal or entertain my relatives by firelight after Thanksgiving dinner. For the most part, I was just a normal, everyday kid. I liked to read, but I wasn’t exceptional at it. And when my teachers complimented me on my writing abilities, I brushed them off. I did, however, always have a penchant for the unique and absurd. And as my mother told me all throughout my childhood, I should have been an actress—I was a drama queen before my time. “Years ago, my husband bought me Scarlett: The Sequel to Gone With The Wind. If you ever saw the book, you know it’s a long one. I sat and read that thing from cover to cover, and dreamed of one day being a writer. But I didn’t actually try my hand at writing until years later when I quit my teaching job to stay home with my kids. And my husband? After that week of reading where I neglected him and everything else until I finished Scarlett, he vowed never to buy me another book again. Little did he know I’d one day end up sitting at a keyboard all day drafting my own stories. “My writing journey has not been easy. I didn’t just sit down one day, decide I was going to write a book and voila! sell my very first attempt. As most authors will probably agree, the path to publication is filled with hours of work, pulling all-nighters I thought I’d given up in college, sacrifices, rejections, but a love I discovered along the way I just can’t live without. Instead of a big, thick book to read by lamplight (I do read much smaller ones when I get the chance), I’ve traded in my reading obsession for a laptop. And I’ve never been happier. “I’m one of the lucky ones. I have a wonderful family and fabulous husband who put up with my writing—and obsessive personality—even when life is chaotic. More than once my kids have been late to swimming or baseball because I needed just five more minutes to finish a scene. Their support and encouragement mean the world to me. I also have amazing friends and a support network I couldn’t survive without. So to all of you out there who have encouraged me along the way, sent me emails and fan letters, phone calls and congratulations, I just want to say, thank you. You make this whole writing gig that much more enjoyable. I truly wouldn’t be here without you.”

Loved It!
Hunted: An Eternal Guardians Novella - Elisabeth Naughton

Erebus spent hundreds of years as a servant of Hades. When Hades loses him in a game to Zeus, he is then forced to do Zeus’s dirty work as well as train his Sirens. When he’s sent to track down a rogue Siren-in-training, he doesn’t expect to find the one female he can ever remember being a bright spot in his darkness. Seraphine was doing good while training to be a Siren until one day she found out a dark secret the Gods were hiding. It’s a cruel joke against her that Zeus sends the one man after her that she knows she will never forget.

This was a great story. I loved the continuation from the previous novella. I love the way Erebus is forced to deal with feelings that he’s never felt before in his long existence. The author has built a world very familiar to anyone that loves Greek mythology and does a great job building strong characters. I can’t wait for the next story in this series. I highly recommend.

Hunted (Eternal Guardians #8.75) by Elisabeth Naughton
Hunted: An Eternal Guardians Novella - Elisabeth Naughton

Elisabeth Naughton’s HUNTED is a thrilling addition to the Eternal Guardians series.  Minor god of darkness, Erebus, has been tasked with hunting down one of Zeus’s Siren warriors.  He wasn’t expecting his target to be the nymph who stole his heart, Seraphine.  This fantasy romance is suitable for adult audiences.

Elisabeth Naughton continues to do a great job with her character development.  Erebus is an interesting god.  He is old and been through a lot.  He has been used by the gods.  I like that he goes after what he wants, and that he is protective of Sera.  I like Sera.  She is brave and noble.  She has a fascinating heritage.  Erebus and Sera have great chemistry.  I was amused by their conversations.

I enjoyed the plot. There were a lot of mystery and deception.  It tied in well with previous stories in the series.  At 120-pages, it was a quick read that was easy to get through in one sitting.  Eternal Guardians is a great series.  I would love to see it turned into a movie or TV series.  I’m looking forward to the next book.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

* This is the finale of the Guardians and the Realms series and is not meant to be read as a standalone title *

As the ruling God of Thule, Hroarr's priority is the survival of his world. Gifted with the ancient ability of sjá, he has seen the birth and destruction of hundreds of worlds. This incredible power comes at an enormous cost, yet its toll seems to ease in the presence of a hauntingly seductive healer from Earth.

Sirena’s life is comprised of duty. Duty to her Guardian family, to healing those of her world and, most of all, the overwhelming duty to right the wrongs of her secret and vile bloodline. With everything on her plate a ruthless warlord God from another world is the last thing she needs, no matter what fate and her heated body demands.

Will a dark Destroyer of Worlds bring upon the end of Earth and Thule or will two strong-minded beings fight and discover their own eternal ecstasy?

Warning: Take one possessive, dirty talking Warrior God and one smart, no nonsense Healer; combine and shake things up for explosive results and scorching content meant for mature audiences!

Eternal Ecstasy is the final installment in the Guardians of the Realms series by Setta Jay. It’s all been leading up to this one explosive world altering event for the Guardians.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to characters that have entertained you. I do hope that we might get to return to this world again; either with novellas or a spin-off. The world has been fascinating, the characters are memorable, and the writing is fantastic.

Sirena, I have loved her since the moment she was introduced. She is such a workaholic and devoted to what she does. Hroarr, Alpha and Dominate. His word is law. This couple just didn’t seem to connect like the others did for me. I didn’t feel that soul mate bond between them. Their mating was not the typical mating we have seen in the other books. I liked that it was different and their romance was super-heated, but my issue and reluctance with this couple is due to Hroarr. At first he was too much, but once their mating started to progressing things changed and he ended up not being so bad. I still don’t love him, but I don’t hate him either. It’s middle ground for me with Hroarr.

I loved all the mind-blowing surprises we got. Some were happy and some were heartbreaking. The ending epilogue was: Wonderful! Sweet! Adorable! It gave us a look at the life of all the Guardians and Mates. Awww!

What a wonderful series and a lovable end. I highly recommend the Guardians of the Realms to those who love unique worlds, characters, and a lot of steamy romance.

Rated: 4 Stars
